Chapter 664: In My Past (part 29)

Boom!

The mysterious energies used by the combined power of Immortal, Magister, Martial, and Mystique were within the Metal Elemental Spirit. And now, Gilthru extracted it out of Arnark and turned it into a Relic.

He didn’t have the capabilities to do this entirely on his own. His enlightenment and the instantaneous support from his Professions only allowed him to extract the Metal Elemental Spirit. To create it into a Relic was something he didn’t even have an idea of.

But, this was where the Saint of Calamity came into play, taking action from far away to conjure the extracted portion into a Relic through Gilthru.

As he was protected by the power of the Conjurer Profession, he influenced Gilthru’s professions through it. Being the sole Saint of the world came with its fair share of privileges.

Thanks to that, a Relic had been created, with Gilthru being its wielder.

“Gah!” Arnark screamed in pain, losing lifeforce rapidly as he was on the verge of death. No potions or conventional means were sufficient to heal him as he seemed to be disintegrating due to an entirely different reason, as if his identity itself was being erased, unable to handle the pressure brought about by four pinnacle entities beyond the limits of the world he resided in.

“Are you willing to die so easily?” Gilthru bellowed in anger as he glared at the weak Arnark. He then looked at the Elf before trailing his gaze over Khun, “Can you become the Lord of this region? With your Divinity, he could be revived.”

“I can only try, but I don’t think that’s enough for this situation.” Khun said, “The authority behind his death seems to be greater than my Divinity.”

Gilthru looked at the Elf, “Can you divine a solution?”

“I’m on it already.” The Elf nodded in a hurry, “With Zaira turning rogue, we cannot afford to lose Arnark too.”

The palace ruins were filled with runes as the Elf seemed to be aging rapidly, expending her lifeforce to divine a method as her eyes shot towards Zaira’s corpse immediately after, “There’s a way.”

“Do all of you still have the Magic Tools given by the Guardian Deity?” She asked.

“Yes!” Gilthru, Khun, and Lorbordo took out their respective Magic Tools. Zaira had only consumed the Elf’s Magic Tool, not having the chance to consume the rest.

Gilthru also took out the Magic Tool given to Arnark, following the Elf’s orders as he stabbed all four Magic Tools into Zaira’s corpse before placing them beside the dying Arnark, “You’ll live on.”

“Until the end!”

He activated his Relic, unleashing a mystical beam onto Arnark that contained the power of time, and fate, refining his body a little before he focused on Zaira’s body, causing all four Magic Tools to seep into her before her body melted, transforming into a cage of sorts.

Gilthru then pushed the cage into Arnark’s body, causing his mind to be trapped within it, extracting it out of his mind when suddenly, a mystical phenomenon erupted.

Arnark had defied fate to surpass his death as through Gilthru’s Relic, the power of a Conjurer washed out, conjuring a physical body for Arnark.

At this time, part of the mysterious energy flowed into the Relic, forming a connection with Gilthru whose eyes lit up at the result. He poured the last of his mana into the energy cluster, watching the physical body of Arnark finish conjuring.

But, it wasn’t what he had expected.

Arnark was currently just a baby, only having the power of a Novice, though his aura revealed the professions of both an Elementalist and Principal Arbiter, just like before.

“T-This…” Gilthru turned around to face the Elf, “Did we succeed?”

But immediately, he was shocked to see the Elf now resembling an old granny whose lifespan had run out. And shockingly, Khun’s body was disintegrating little by little.

“I’m sorry, Gilthru, I lied.” The Elf smiled weakly, “The price required to revive Arnark was greater than what I let on. But, this is the only way.”

“I divined that Zaira would become an entity capable of swallowing our world. I didn’t wish to believe it at the start, but I’m assured of it now. And, only Arnark can go against her.” She smiled weakly, closing her eyes, “He has cheated death twice now. That makes him the sole entity to do this. And by using Zaira’s corpse, he now wields control over part of her power.”

“He’s our saviour, one that would shield us from the upcoming calamity, and slay Zaira…”

“He’s a Slayer.”

Thud!

The Elf collapsed to the ground, breathing her last.

Khun stared at Lorbordo and Gilthru, smiling wryly, “We’ve barely gotten to know each other. But too bad, this is where we part ways.”

Suddenly, a mysterious power flowed out of his dissipating body and seeped into Gilthru’s Relic, “My Divinity wasn’t strong enough to revive him naturally, and hence, I paid for it with my life. And, I can sense through my Divinity that your fate is intrinsically tied to Arnark. I hope you can guide him into a Slayer as the Elf had divined.”

“For that, I’ll lend you my power. The item in your hands is special in that it can accept any and all power bestowed upon you. That’s its true nature. So…” Khun sported a helpless smile, “Wield my power as a Dragon and protect our world.”

“Don’t let these traitors destroy my home.” Khun’s eyes turned sharp for a moment, “Since you don’t have a strong intent to live, take it like this.”

His voice turned solemn as his figure dissipated entirely, “Through my Divinity, I, Gabrumundkhun, hereby order you, Gilthru, to raise Arnark into a competent Slayer and develop this world for as long as you live. This is your life’s mission.”

“Yes…” Gilthru bowed his head in response, “I’ll do it.”

“For a blank slate like me, I’m honoured to be given this responsibility.” Gilthru lifted his head and stared at the baby Arnark in his hands before looking at Lorbordo, “We should leave.”

“Man, this doesn’t make sense anymore.” Lorbordo sighed in exhaustion, transforming into a flying-type Magic Beast as he carried Gilthru and Arnark on his back.

He stared at the corpses of the six Magic Beasts that had been turned into meat paste, thinking for a moment before devouring them all, obtaining all information necessary to transform into them, following which he took off into the skies, leaving the place.

Immediately after that, the figure of the Saint of Calamity appeared in the ruined palace, sporting a wide smile as he raised his hands into the sky, “Ahh, this is so interesting.”

“This conflict is beneficial for our growth. Isn’t that right,” He grinned, staring at the dozens of mystical lights that surrounded him, “My Professions?”
