I Hate Systems

Chapter 845: Valmor Du Te Ace

Chapter 845: Valmor Du Te Ace

“Shit!” Arnark’s face paled in response as he hurried to Slayer’s rescue, transmitting a message to the other party, “Master, it seems we played right into their trap. We need to retreat now!”

“No, we’re not cornered yet.” Slayer grunted as he harnessed his powers to gradually push away the formless suppression affecting him, getting up on his own before grinning, “I’m not weak enough to be taken down by a single Grade 3 System. Even Apocalypse failed to do that while in Zaira’s presence.”

“Well…I’m stronger than the Apocalypse you faced.” The eye in the sky uttered as a heavenly hand pressed forth from the skies, parting away the clouds; even though nothing changed in the surroundings with the arrival of the massive hand, Slayer was mentally pressured.

It was a mental attack!

“Kuk!” Slayer grunted as his body rapidly healed thanks to the Immortality of the Titans, “But…you’re only a tad stronger than Apocalypse. That’s nothing before…ME!”

Boom!

Slayer’s body transformed into a Dragon as he opened his mouth to unleash a torrential destructive beam at the sky, puncturing the heavenly hand before slamming into the eye to injure it.

“Where are you going?” Suddenly, right as Arnark arrived before Slayer to support him, he was interjected by the man who was still calm.

“Move! I’ll deal with you later!” Arnark growled and intended to move aside when suddenly, a rune flashed before him and pulsed with a strange mana fluctuation, causing him to defend with all his might, “Shi…”

Boom!

His figure slammed into the ground a dozen kilometres away as blade wounds littered his body. Arnark gasped for air, watching the blade wounds shine with a mysterious light before expanding to sever his body into pieces.

An instant later, he appeared a couple of metres away from where he was severed into pieces, his body whole as he stared at the man, regaining his composure.

“As expected of the Main Character. Cheating death is like breathing air for you.” The man spoke as slowly the air around him began to vibrate; he introduced himself, “I am Valmor Du Te Ace.”

He didn’t utter any obnoxious words, knowing very well that doing so would only crumble his fate against the Main Character. His introduction caused Arnark to turn serious, for he was perhaps the most difficult opponent Arnark had faced. After all…

System Slayer—Level 99!

Grade 2 System—Demon (Level 199)!

This was the man, Valmor’s true identity. He was originally a System Slayer that had fallen victim to the trap set by the Systems. And after reaching level 49 as a System Slayer, he was taken over by the Demon System—a fragment of it.

Following that, the Demon System Fragment continued to level up, gradually crossing level 100 to enter the realm of Grade 2.

As the Demon System was level 199, the fragment could level up without a problem. And boosted by the powers of a System Slayer, his growth was alarming.

And once he hit the peak at level 199, Valmor began to focus on his powers as a System Slayer, having zero chances of becoming the Main Character now. After all, he was a fragment of the Demon System the moment he fell victim to the Systems’ trap.

He explored worlds, gained new powers, let go of useless powers, gathered interesting Core Skills, refined his strength, meditated, and collated his gains, and rinse and repeated the process.

At present, he was under the waterfall to collate his recent gains when Arnark arrived before him.

Valmor wasn’t afraid of Arnark. Had he just been a fragment of the Demon System at level 199, he would have been terrified. After all, Arnark’s strength was in the Grade 3 range too.

But, he had levelled up his strength as a System Slayer, reaching level 99 and had also gathered a few Main Character System fragments to reinforce his strength further. System Slayers at level 99 were capable of absorbing Main Character Systems on their own. And he did just that.

A normal System Slayer at level 99 wouldn’t be much of a threat against Arnark. After all, the Main Character System fragments in them would submit towards Arnark naturally.

The fragments even in Compass Carburettor, the Main Character of this era submitted to Arnark, not to mention a mere System Slayer.

But Valmor was different in that the power of his as a System Slayer was attached to his Demon System fragment, empowering it.

“Urrk!” Arnark took a step back, letting out an animalistic sound as he was unable to pull out the Main Character System fragments out of Valmor, ‘They are stuck there within the Demon System fragments.’

“Don’t bother,” Valmor grinned, “You can forget about reclaiming them. Also, as long as there are those like me around, you can forget about attaining Grade 2 System status ever in your life.”

Without reclaiming all 1000 Main Character System fragments, Arnark would be unable to hit the status as a Grade 2 System. He wouldn’t be able to become unrivalled without attaining that.

“Well…” Arnark let out a breath of air before teleporting to the top of a mountain as he stomped his foot, unleashing a sword slash that severed the mountain into two before vaporising one half instantly.

He glanced at Valmor for a moment before jumping over the cliff, heading straight to the bottom as his face sported calmness, treating death like something he could flirt with whenever he so desired.

Main Character Core Skill—Cliff Falling (Level 93)!

Unfortunately, right as the Core Skill was about to activate, Valmor teleported before him and caught Arnark in a princess carry before throwing him away from the mountain, watching him crash into the flat terrain and form a long trench.

“You’re casually activating a Core Skill before me?” Valmor raised an eyebrow before staring at Arnark’s bloody self in disdain, “You’re underestimating me…”

“It’s you that’s underestimating me, brat.” Arnark said, killing himself to reappear nearby in a pristine condition, “You took me by surprise once and became arrogant already?”

He sighed, “If you were hoping to get rid of me, you should have taken a page out of Compass Carburettor’s book. Simply using your powers to get rid of me is impossible. If that were possible, the Main Character System wouldn’t have been so special.”

He then pointed at Valmor, “Look at you. Before you realised, your powers were sealed, and now…”

Arnark stated with a slow grin, “You stopped breathing.”
