Chapter 868: You Forgot About Your Nightmare?
Chapter 868: You Forgot About Your Nightmare?
Platinum Head stared with a solemn gaze as their aircraft took flight and gradually approached the barrier protecting their world. It was his first time seeing it up close, sighing at its massive grandeur, ‘This is the barrier protecting our world.’
“Be ready. I’ll be opening an entry point.” Stencil’s voice resounded in their aircraft, “There are no Invaders in your surroundings, but they would rush at you the moment the barrier opens. Be prepared to fight.”
“You heard her,” Platinum Head addressed the twenty people seated within the aircraft. Among the twenty Heroes, five were S-Class while the remaining 15 were A-Class.
Everyone geared up in response, ready to fight as the aircraft gradually touched the barrier that suddenly parted way, opening a wide enough hole for it to pass through.
The barrier protecting the world filtered out all powers that could infiltrate the world. But, this also meant they couldn’t form a connection to another world from within. After all, such paths were two-way channels, allowing the other side to rush in through them.
Hence, it couldn’t be created within the world, which was why they had to leave the world first before teleporting to the Gunmetal Gold World.
The aircraft passed through the barrier as Platinum Head gulped nervously, watching the barrier close shut behind him. This meant that they wouldn’t get any support from the Genesis Hero.
“We’re on our own from here.” He said, noticing the nervousness of everyone as the aircraft continued to fly through space.
Kieee!
Formless energy ripples slammed into the aircraft as suddenly, everyone flinched at the intense pressure. Platinum Head turned around, staring at a sea of clouds rushing towards them, his face paling as he shouted, “Invaders!”
Riding their tentacled creatures were Invaders, millions in number. They had been attacking the barrier in countless locations all across the world. But upon noticing the aircraft, they hurriedly chased after it.
“Use the plasma canon.” Platinum Head calmed down and commanded. The one manning the aircraft, an A-Class Hero nodded as he aimed the weapon towards the approaching sea of Invaders and pressed the trigger.
Guuong!
A beam of light slammed into the sea of Invaders before exploding like a nuclear reaction, becoming a miniature sun as its solar flares killed more Invaders.
“That…was strong.” The A-Class Hero muttered in shock, having never expected their plasma canon to be so powerful.
“Don’t forget that this aircraft is no different to a Hero Suit. So, its strength makes sense since Lady Genesis created it for her exclusive use.” Platinum Head said in response, feeling proud for some reason.
“Initiating warp!” Another A-Class Hero said after pushing a couple of buttons, hearing the aircraft rumble in response.
“Kill!”
“Catch them!”
The Invaders shouted from afar, having been held back by the plasma cannon as they tried to rush at the aircraft as soon as possible.
The aircraft whirred with a mysterious power. It was a Hero Suit created using the concept of transmigration that the Invaders thought while arriving at this universe.
Invaders were just the beings birthed on the Gunmetal Gold World after the Invader System had modified it. So, they were still sentient beings capable of generating Mental Energy.
And the moment they began to invade the Hero World, Stencil harnessed their relevant thoughts and focused it to create a power of transmigration, one that could only go from the Hero World to the Gunmetal old World and vice-versa.
Using that, she created a Hero Suit in the form of an aircraft.
“Fuu…” One of the Heroes let out a long breath, sensing his energy being sucked by the aircraft as suddenly a spatial storm erupted around the aircraft before its figure vanished.
“Shit!” One of the Invaders cursed in response, coming to a stop as it turned around and began to retreat, intending to continue working on damaging the barrier like before. All the Invaders too returned to their work on the barrier.
And since their numbers had been dropped by a sharp extent, a portal manifested in one area through which tens of thousands of Invaders poured forth.
Suddenly, just as the portal was about to close, the claws of a gigantic entity passed through and caught hold of the portal’s boundary, exerting strength into it to expand it in size before entering the universe of the Hero World.
Invader—Five Star!
Possessing strength on par with a Grade 1 System at the peak, it was a terrifying existence, capable of destroying a world easily. It observed the barrier on the Hero World, grinning as it suddenly slammed into it.
Rumble!
Stencil’s expression morphed in response, paling a little upon the impact as minor cracks spread out from the impact point. She hurriedly mended the damage.
“Surprising!” The Invader muttered as the tentacled creature it sat upon whirred its mouthpart before plunging it into the barrier, puncturing a hole in a matter of seconds.
“Kya!” Stencil let out a surprised shout, garnering the attention of everyone that had gathered at the scene.
“Oh, shit!” Earth Star gazed at the sky, noticing a gigantic needle poking through the barrier protecting their world. Those at S-Class were able to see the barrier, so he noticed what was up.
“Leave it to me,” Just when Stencil was about to personally head out, Compass Carburettor stopped her, “I haven’t flexed in a while. This Invader is just perfect for that.”
Saying so, his figure disappeared and appeared next to the barrier, gazing at the drilling mouthpart before him. He extended his index finger, gently touching the tip of the spinning mouthpart that oozed a mysterious power of invasion that allowed it to puncture the barrier in a matter of seconds.
Whirr!
Suddenly, the mouthpart stopped rotating, unable to drill through Compass Carburettor’s index finger.
“Get back!” At his words, he flexed his index finger, pushing the mouthpart out. In response, his body dissolved into a ray of sunlight that vanished through the hole, forming a fair distance away from the Invader.
“Who the heck are you?” The Invader frowned in response, staring at the tentacled creature to notice in shock that its mouthpart had been twisted and tied like a ribbon, ‘When did he do it?’
“Wow, you don’t know about me?” Compass Carburettor acted like he was surprised before grinning, “You really forgot?”
“About your nightmare?”
