I Hate Systems

Chapter 875: Secondary System

Chapter 875: Secondary System

“You’ve done a good job, Doki-Doki.” Arnark smiled as he tilted his head to ask, “So, do you want me to spare you?”

“Please, I’m harmless.” The Doki-Doki System said in a fluster.

“Haha, you needn’t fear. I don’t have a use for someone with a damaged Coordinate.” Arnark said as he patted its head and poured in some Mental Energy, “Since you helped me, I’ll feed you some leftovers. This should at least heal your damaged Coordinate.”

“After all, that’s what the Main Character does.” Saying so, his figure vanished, heading to the System World.

“T-T-Thank you…” The Doki-Doki System’s body trembled in fear as the Mental Energy from the main character swirled around and healed its coordinate. But suddenly, that energy expressed surprise as it was sucked in by the Coordinate and digested rapidly.

“T-Thank you…hehe.” Its trembling stopped as it let out a gleeful smile, watching its Coordinate heal completely, “I guess it was good that my plan worked. You wouldn’t have even expected that I’m the one you’re searching for, Arnark.”

It chuckled, “After giving birth to the strongest Main Character and a System Slayer who attained power with enough potential to alert even the System World, my entirety became faint.”

“So, even though I was before you, Arnark, you couldn’t sense your fragment in me.”

Yes, the one giggling was the Money-Making System. When Compass Carburettor became a System Slayer, a portion of its body was used in the process. And once he became the Main Character, the sheer fate involved absolutely wrung it dry, which was why it became so helpless that Stencil—the body it had Hosted at the time—was captured so easily.

But following that, Stencil too became a System Slayer. And when she obtained Immortal’s fragment, her fate strengthened. And as the one involved in her creation, the Money-Making System took another critical hit, almost becoming useless.

And then, when Dota’s power fused with her, the Money-Making System almost died.

But what it hadn’t expected was an opportunity to be presented during this crisis. After all, it wasn’t originally the Money-Making System. It hailed from a Genre without much potential, having no possibility of attaining Grade 2.

And when presented with a chance, it devoured a System Slayer and obtained the Main Character System fragment from there, shedding its original self to become the Money-Making System.

When the Destiny Luck System presented it with the possibility of becoming another System, even though it was unwilling, it accepted, because it was confident that it could devour another System in the future to become that. It had done so once, so why couldn’t it do it again?

Of course, it sustained a lot of injuries as a result, but with the Main Character System fragment, not only the possibility of making that shift became easier, but recovery was also quicker.

And when Stencil obtained Dota’s power, enough fate was drawn from the Money-Making System, making it damn weak. But, it was also a chance, because the Main Character System fragment in its body had weakened to the extreme.

Because of the fight between Zaira and Immortal, not to mention between Arnark and Compass Carburettor, fate had twisted in such a complex way that none made sense anymore.

At that moment, Arnark had no way to find out if it did something to his Main Character System fragment.

And hence, the Money-Making System took the leap and fused with the Main Character System fragment, becoming a brand-new entity, one with terrifying potential.

Secondary System (Level 1)!

The function of a Secondary System was pretty simple. It was the fact that it could attach itself to a System Host. Meaning, it could jump into a System Host and casually act as a bystander and simply reap the Mental Energy benefits.

Like a parasite!

Best of all, it wouldn’t be discovered, because its energy signature would be the exact same as the System that had Hosted its target.

All its powers involved being as stealthy as possible so that even when the Host was interacting with it, the parent System wouldn’t even find out anything.

Once it attained such a power, it casually jumped into the Host of the Doki-Doki System and hid within it, destroying the mind of the original easily, following which it lured the Elf to that world.

It was aware that the Elf had a lot of data regarding it, given to it by the Destiny Luck System. That data was in the form of Destiny Luck itself. So, they were destined to meet.

The Elf was a strong enemy for it to face, and hence, it set a trap that targeted the Main Character System fragment within the Elf, causing it to emit a strong energy fluctuation once it fell victim to the trap unknowingly.

And that energy signature invited Arnark to the world. Until the end, the Elf—Primordial Origin System—was ignorant of the fact that it had fallen victim to a trap.

Moreover, it was unexpected, but when Arnark supplied it with some energy, intending to help the weakened Doki-Doki System, that energy was absorbed by the Secondary System hiding within. And using that energy, it healed all the defects it sustained with such a high-risk operation.

After all, Mental Energy from the Main Character was of the utmost quality. ‘Since I’ve healed myself, I don’t need to accompany this weak System anymore.’

Best of all, the Main Character System fragment it had fused with had become so weak that despite being before it, Arnark failed to sense it.

“Opportunity is presented to the prepared one!” Saying so, it forced the Doki-Doki System to return to the System World. Of course, the Doki-Doki System didn’t have enough energy to make the trip. And hence, its Core Skill broke down, regressing by a level—reaching level 1.

As a result, two hundred thousand Mental Energy was generated, out of which a hundred thousand was used for the return trip. As for the other hundred thousand?

Burp!

The Secondary System swallowed that and smiled contently as it forced the Doki-Doki System to enter another world. With its damaged mind, it wouldn’t be able to accomplish shit and die alongside its Host there, ‘This way, no traces of me would exist.’

Following that, it looked through the worlds before chancing upon a Hunter World, ‘Impressive, this world is the perfect setup for my growth. I’ll be the secondary interface that only the chosen one of this world has.’

Smiling in response, it vanished into the Hunter World, entering the body of an F-Class Hunter who was about to die in a Dungeon.
