Chapter NaN: The First Main Character
Chapter NaN: The First Main Character
Tok! Tok! Tok!
Compass Carburettor walked through his mind space, arriving before the chains binding his three worlds. He stopped before it, extending his hand to touch the chains of Earth, seeing them tremble nonstop.
Currently, he had already reached peak cultivation, the Ninth Layer of the Martial Providence Stage in both the dwellings. That wasn’t all, he had collaborated with Rhizen and killed most of the System Hosts, targeting the ones that were alone.
When he and Rhizen attacked the lone System Hosts, success was pretty much guaranteed. And their Coordinates were absorbed by him while Rhizen absorbed their luck.
Every time he absorbed a Coordinate, the chains binding his three worlds would shudder in response. This was because the chains were from the Restriction Order, a Main Character’s ability.
And, they had an innate defect against the Main Character. Having been the Main Character for some time now, Compass Carburettor understood certain information.
It was the fact that irrespective of the number of System Slayers, there could only be one Main Character. And until he was alive, no new Main Character would be birthed, irrespective of their talent or potential to become one.
And as his state as a Main Character continued to increase through his exploits, the chains were beginning to fail in restricting him. It was because the aura of the Main Character from both was clashing.
Eventually, when his aura becomes powerful enough, he would be able to break through the chains.
Even though the Restriction Order was from a Level 90 Main Character, its effects were spread throughout the Cultivation World, a vast network of Realms. In contrast, the entirety of Compass Carburettor’s power was concentrated in him alone.
So, once he absorbed enough Coordinates, he began to overwhelm the chains. But, destroying them wasn’t his goal. No, that was a waste.
His goal was to steal the Restriction Order from the hands of the Systems. So for that, he had been focusing on the task.
The Gaider Realm had already geared up for the upcoming war. Only eight System Hosts were remaining of the original 21. And the only reason this number hadn’t dropped further was that they had all converged around Straxia.
Otherwise, Rhizen and Compass Carburettor would have teamed up and killed them all one after another.
Compass Carburettor touched the chains before seeping his Origin Essence through them, activating his Origin Art of Mind Connect.
Even though the first Main Character had been killed, his corpse remained, something that wouldn’t ever rot. Moreover, it was also carefully preserved by the Systems.
The Restriction Order was a sphere looking no different from the Coordinates, only darker and heavier, or at least that was the feeling it gave, for Coordinates were massless.
There were traces of the Main Character’s mind left in the Restriction Order. But the fragments were too small. Moreover, in fear that accessing those fragments might create a chance for the Main Character to grow in their minds, none of the Systems ever dared to connect with these memory fragments.
Of course, Compass Carburettor dared to do that, especially since he had such a convenient means to do so through his mind space. Unlike the Systems, he was confident. Because, he was the current Main Character and one that specialised in dealing with the mind.
So, he wouldn’t face any disadvantages.
His Origin Art of Mind Connect’s power coursed through the chains, leaving his mind space before travelling throughout the Gaider Realm, expanding further beyond as it travelled through all the chains covering the Cultivation World.
And as time passed, the connection eventually reached the sphere—the Restriction Order.
…
“So, this is what it means to be the Main Character!”
“Haha, Systems are weak before me.”
“You bastards are freaking parasites!”
“Will you stop at nothing before sucking in the essence of every freaking world?”
“Dammit, stoooppp!”
“You bastards! I’ll kill you all!”
“Shit…is this my end?”
…
The memories only consisted of scenes where the Main Character experienced the peak in his emotional upheavals. This Main Character seemed confident and that confidence was what allowed him to become one in the first place.
And he was indeed strong, as explained by his confident emotions at the start after becoming the Main Character. But after that, as he continued to face the Systems that swarmed him wave after wave, his emotions slowly shifted to anger and aggressiveness.
And eventually, it morphed into hatred when he witnessed the depth of what the Systems were capable of.
The final scene was of him staring at a couple of Grade 3 Systems that had been attacking him nonstop, now about to deal the killing blow.
Compass Carburettor went through the memories again and again until he obtained as much information as possible.
After that, he opened his eyes, gazing at the figure of Rhizen that was seated before him, “I’ve accessed it fully.”
“Alright, connect me to it.” Rhizen nodded.
Ever since he was contacted by Stencil, Rhizen changed his plans, modifying them according to the variables at play.
Thanks to her support, they were able to bring their plans forward.
Origin Art—Mental Connect!
Origin Art—Mind Transfer!
Rhizen appeared in the stomach of the Mind Frog before he was directed to Compass Carburettor’s mind space, arriving before Earth as he took a seat. He had already entered this mind space plenty of times as practice in the past, so he was long since used to everything in place.
“Now, we’ll have to wait for your daughter.” He said, closing his eyes to rest.
Compass Carburettor stood beside him in silence, subtly nodding in response with a hint of pride. Their initial plan was a lot more complex, involving plenty of risks, with one of the risks amounting to wounding or even destroying one of his Personal Fragments.
But ever since Stencil woke up, they gained a better leeway as she used the System she controlled and worked with Dota and the Heaven Divine Martial Spirit to work on a certain project that he had begun in the Apocalypse World itself.
