Chapter 270 - Peck Vs Peeke
Ed smirked as he proved himself right. There is a connection between the ground and the target balls above them. He needed to let the ground to guide him where to hit.
Seeing this, the other Champions watched Ed a few more times until they got his trick. They first were challenged by the task, unabling to let go of the control they want to have over their bodies.
"Eternal Chaos Slash!" Ed hacked his sword and let the ground slip under him. He was just aiming for the balls silently on the side when an orb made of air was shot against him.
Ed tried to block himself from the attack. He was going to flip but his foot slipped, making him fall down instead. When the air ball was approaching him, Ed covered his sword with his dark purple aura and raised it, "Nullify!"
The air dispersed and turned into a gentle breeze. Ed was upset at the person who attacked him. He made sure to not create any sort of mess with the other Champions. He wanted a clean round, but fate just wouldn't allow it.
"Oh, I think we have our first beef here, Irv," Zia announced. "Do you think this is our first beef?"
"By the looks of it, I think this is it, Zia," Irv replied.
Ed stood up, wobbling from the rubberized ground, and cleaned his from dirt. "Who was that?"
A man walked up to him. He had white hair and a white suit. On his pants were white gold chains that hung around his side. "Do you know me?"
"No," Ed replied. "Who are you?"
"I am the husband of Chinny," the man said. "Does the name ring any bell?"
"I don't think I know anyone named Chinny–"
Ed huffed when he saw several balls of wind approach him. He could all block them effortlessly this time, moving his wrists and flicking them to nullify the wind spheres one by one.
"Chinny resorted to become an escort to see you!" the man yelled. He grit his teeth and extended his arms beside him. He raised them and formed a vortex above him, "North Wind Blows!"
Ed sighed and shook his head, "I swear, I don't know anyone named Chinny!"
"Ah, the karma of his habit of going to brothels has finally caught up to him," Elliot chuckled.
Connor snorted, "We tried to stop him many times, but did he stop?"
"No," Hope answered with a scrunched up face. "He didn't stop."
Ed was running from the vortex that was chasing him. The wind man was trying to get rid of him and he didn't try to be discreet about it. The other Champions had already stopped with their targets and joined Ed in his run.
"I am a member of one of the strongest guilds in the kingdom!" the man yelled. "Why would he settle for you?! You're nothing!"
"Maybe you have a small pecker!" Ed yelled back. "Girls would scream when I put it inside them–"
"I will kill you Edward Peck!" the man yelled. His eyes glowed white and he started to hover in the air with his arms raised on his chest level. "Massive Cyclone!"
There was a large tornado that he formed behind him. The tornado branched out into nine smaller tornadoes. "My name is Alexei Burkheed and I am the husband of the woman who chose to become a wh*re to Edward Peck!"
Ed's friends had all their faces in a scrunch. They looked at each other and cringed at the confession of Alexei. He threw his head back and fluttered his feet like he was on water. "I could feel Edward's body being ripped by my winds."
"Is this even allowed?" Zia gasped. She floated away from the field with her island. She was afraid that she might get caught in the fray. Alexei's winds were blowing stronger and stronger.
Irv followed her and looked at the judges. They were looking intently at the fight with no signs of disagreement in any of their faces.
"The rules said to not attack the target balls while getting near them, it didn't say anything about hovering and attacking the other Champions," Irv said as an excuse.
This made the crowd to erupt in cheers. They were starting to get bored by the champions just targeting the balls while tripping falling off. The thrill of fighting was still something that's more exciting than anything.
"He only wanted Ed!" a female champion yelled. "Let's just give him Ed and get over this."
"I'll go to him myself," Ed said and rushed to where Alexei was. He had his sword forward, nullifying the morph magic from the ground and created a path for him to follow. He could nullify the magic and let himself run on the ground without any difficulties.
Alexei was now looking at Ed while the latter was approaching him. He thrust his hands forward, firing the tornadoes he created and launched madness towards Ed. The rubberized ground would crack as the tornado passed it, the intensity of the wind was enough to shave the morphing magic off of it.
"Let's dance," Ed whispered. He took a deep breath and let the pressure from the curse release. He was controlling the curse, feeling it charge his sword with its power.
His sword lit up with the dark purple color, the light traveling up to his sleeved arm. His powers were starting to let loose and he was losing control over it.
"It's getting closer," Ed whispered. He could feel the strong winds coming. Alexei had all the intention of killing him by firing strong winds against him. The wind could tear an entire house apart, let alone a human being. "Three… two… one…"
When the tornado was right in front of him, Ed sighed and slashed his sword. The flames of his sword engulfed the tornadoes and rose up to the target balloons, burning them and making them explode.
"Time is up!" Irv yelled. "We will now tally the scores from this round. Champions on standby, please prepare for another round after we announce the points."
Alexei fell on his knees to the ground. He was staring at the void, the scenes of how easily Ed cancelled his attack replayed in his head.
"B-But that was all of my mana…" Alexei trailed off. "You stopped it just like that."
Ed walked over to him and frowned, "My power thrives over mana. The more mana you use, the easier it is for me to cancel it."
"B-But my wife… Edward Peck, you turned her into–"
"What?!" Ed yelled.. "I am Edward Peeke, you hunted the wrong person. What in the hell?!"
