Chapter 288 - Reverse Infliction
The woman continued screaming, the other woman kneeled down beside her and took a scarf, wrapping it around her wound to stop the bleeding.
"How dare you?!" the man boomed and took out his dagger. "She's my wife!"
"And now your wife is missing a leg," Elliot retorted and blasted himself towards the man.
Unlike his wife, he was able to block the attack from Elliot. The boy was grinning, seeing how he was overpowering the man. "What happened to your confidence earlier? I thought you were going to kill people just now?"
"Why you little–" The man pushed Elliot back with his dagger and opened his palm. He shot a flash of lightning towards Elliot, the boy avoiding it easily like it was nothing. "Katarina, help me."
The first woman finished wrapping her friend's amputated limb with her scarf and stood. She took out a short blade that she flicked to extend. Her weapon was now almost the same height as her.
"That weapon will slow you down," Elliot said. "I'll go two against one. You're both not so threatening, so I'm not that scared."
"You're looking down on us?!" Katarina yelled and rushed to where Elliot was. "I'll kill you!"
Among the three, she was the fastest. She got to where Elliot was in a blink of an eye. It was obvious that her speed would be even faster if she lose her long weapon. It was slowing her down due to the air pressure when she runs.
"Such rage," Elliot chuckled. He blocked her attack by holding his sword with a single hand. His body felt light and strong from the Creator's Heart's boost. It was making him feel even more powerful than before.
"This power is awesome," Elliot yelled, grinding his sword with the woman's. The spark from their weapons lit up the room, the two of them slowly taking their pace and ran while clashing their blades.
"Now for the battle of speed," Katarina muttered. "Something I excel at."
"Let's see," Elliot grinned. "I don't think you can handle me."
The two vanished into thin air. They mobilized themselves and were now moving at incredible rates, something a normal human could not see.
"Miya," the man was about to run to his wife when Madam Locraine appeared in front of him.
"I think she needs to take a rest," Madam Locraine smiled. "Fight me before you can come to your lover."
"Don't do this Madam Locraine," the man gritted his teeth. "You killed the head of our clan to get Excalibur, don't forget that."
"Do you even know what House I am from, Leon?" Madam Locraine quirked her brow up. "My family has a long history with the royals considering we were one of them before. My ancestors were the ones who had Excalibur to rule the kingdom, but the mage betrayed them."
"Enough!" Leon screamed and rushed to where the woman was. He raised his dagger and slashed it towards her.
Madam Locraine blocked the attack with her closed fan, the woman smirking as she saw the anger in the man's eyes. "The tables have turned Leon. After I saw how strong the boy was, I'm confident that I can beat you three and your petty thieving clan for good."
"But have you forgotten?" Leon stopped gritting his teeth and replaced it with a smirk. "Some of us have Faints, Madam Locraine. And you know what Katarina's Faint is."
The woman's eyes widened, her jaw dropped to the floor and she looked around the dark room to find the two. There were sparks from their blades appearing from different areas of the room, meaning that their battle was still ongoing.
"I need to warn him," Madam Locraine whispered. She leaped to gain more vision and find Elliot, but Leon appeared in front of her with his dagger.
"You're my opponent, Madam," Leon grinned and slashed his blade.
The woman couldn't block the attack completely. She tried to raise her fan but the dagger was able to scrape her hand, forcing her to land and look at it.
"Leon the Poison Insect," Leon said. "Watch out for that wound. It can kill."
–
Elliot fell silent. He paused and let the girl roam about the room. He was now having a hard time keeping up with her, him feeling sluggish as he read the notification in his Console.
Their fight started with Elliot grinning as he was taking up the lead. Katarina's speed was lower, she was a mile slower. "B-But what happened…"
'Supreme Dragon Immunity Crest activated.'
Elliot gulped as he read the notifications over and over. It felt like it was less the time in a blink of an eye. It was when he hacked his sword into Katarina when the notification appeared.
"What happened?" Elliot asked himself again. "I inflicted the damage, I was sure to hack my sword through her right arm."
"I have a secret," Katarina whispered from the air. They room felt silent in Elliot's ears. He could hear Madam Locraine with Leon just earlier, but now everything was silent. "You know about Faints, right?"
Elliot gripped his sword and listened to the girl. His concentration faltered the moment Katarina made the crest activate. He was having a hard time grasping the situation that it was affecting him.
"My Faint is Reverse Infliction," Katarina said. "Two times a day, whenever someone had tried to inflict heavy damage against me, the damage will be reversed."
"Two times a day?" Elliot smirked. "Then, are you ready to lose a finger?"
Katarina stopped talking for a moment. Elliot was confident with his words that she felt like she was really going to lose a finger.
"I-I know you have a protection in you," Katarina said. Elliot chuckled after hearing her voice faltering this time. Her lips were trembling in fear and she was now losing her speed. Elliot could sense her direction now that she was scared.
"What are you talking about–"
Katarina gasped when she felt Elliot behind her. The boy hacked his sword with a swift motion, losing his arm in the process. A smirked formed in her lips but was instantly wiped out when she saw red lava flowing from Elliot's amputated limb. The lava formed his arm that grabbed her wrist, pushing it on the ground.
Elliot laughed hysterically as he saw the fear in the woman's eyes, "Get ready to lose a finger."
