I Know The Secret To Surpass Level 100

Chapter 302 - The Painting Of The Sear

When the Twilight Bless first showed its true power in the ancient times, the Five Kings sat in panick. They couldn't control the power and their elite Adventurers were dying one by one.

They had to take action.

The Kings moved their plan from sealing the Bless and entrusting their realm to the future, and asked the other Realms for help. It came ot their attention how weak and fragile Terrans were compared to the people living in the other Realms. Maybe they could help them.

Etheoria was the first to respond with their call to the other Realms. They tried to control the overwhelming power, using up all the Ethereum-based magic their realm could offer. But Etheoria failed. Seeing the number of Etheorians who lost their lives in the hands of the Bless, they retreated.

Dracon and Inferno were about to send their help when Hell told them about how only a quarter of the Etheorian troops were left. All the others fell into the overwhelming power of the Bless, dying in vain as they were trying to save a realm that was not theirs.

"Hell is cunning," the Crimson King sighed. "I could not believe they would do such a thing. Dracon and Inferno will never help us at this rate."

"Calm down first," the Azure King said. "We can contact both realms again and ask for their help. I'm sure they will understand–"

"No," the Purple King cut him off. He slammed his hands on the armrest of his throne and stood, glaring at the other kings, "It's not enough to ask help anymore."

"Seal the Bless!" the Grass King yelled, raising his sword as the others followed him. "The time has finally come."

While the Kings organized the Championship of the Greats to seal the Twilight Bless, an old man was accidentally blasted by a random spark of power by the Twilight Bless. Everyone thought the old man would die on the spot, but instead, the spark gave him power.

He was the first Grand Sear. The spark gave him the ability to see the future through paintings. He would sit on one of the pillars of the coliseum and paint his prophecies in his scrolls.

His last one was the original painting that Miranda brought to the Azure Scorch Guild members. They had another painter copy the original painting to show the members about what it looked like.

He named it, the Twilight War. Three sides will fight over the Twilight Bless, seeking for its power, but only one side will win and the others will perish.

"I told four lies in my earlier statement," Miranda said, raising four fingers. "The first one was related to the hands. The left one is us, the middle is for the Oracion Alma, and the right one is for the Fallen Angels."

Miranda pointed on the curves ans vines design on the side of the painting. "These curves and sign shows the pattern of the ancient kingdom of Five Kingdoms connected together. This was the most common pattern in the ancient times to show the unity amongst the kingdoms."

The boys continued to listen to the woman. Her hands shifted on the sphere where the butterflies were, "These butterflies shift in positions. Before last week, they were scattered all over the sphere, but as days go by, they move slowly to the corner–"

"What does that mean?" Elliot interrupted. Some of his friends looked at him. "I mean, I'm just curious about what it means."

"And I'm gonna tell," Mirand shook her head and smirked. "We think that the right time for us to unlock the Twilight Bless is when the butterflies reach the edge of the sphere. When all six of them lands, the time is right."

"Finally," Miranda cleared her throat. "Currently, the hand that represents our side has a wide grip from the other two. If there was a spy earlier, I wanted to make them think that they're a step ahead of us, but they're actually not."

"What do you mean about that?" It was Frederick who asked this time.

"Honestly, the Oracion Alma's hand is still moving," Miranda said. "Even faster when they stopped the Soul Trading. This meant that they're preparing for the war, and they're preparing vigorously. They're not playing games anymore and we have to be wary of that."

"Now that's just scary," Ed chuckled. "They collected souls and all that. It's going to be hard fighting against souls."

"It's easy," Miranda chuckled. "The purpose of their souls is to power up their magic cannon. We have intel with that too, that's why our hand reaches up the closest. We are the ones who are way ahead of them."

Luck quirked his brow up, "Magic cannon? Why don't we know about this?"

"Because we also just received the intel. A magic cannon that can pierce any shield, that's the weapon we're preparing against right now," Miranda said. "And there's a lot of things going on in Oracion Alma's base so we couldn't identify all of them. Inside is like an ant colony, and the rooms are ever shifting. We don't know where to look."

"Do you want us to do anything else?" Elliot asked. "We could help you out with the–"

"Just do your job," Miranda cut Elliot off. "Do that simple thing. I am nothing but someone who relayed this information. My head told me to not interfere more than this. And if he says so, then I will not interfere, unless it's connected to the Twilight War."

Miranda placed a finger on her lips. She took a pen and a piece of paper and wrote on it, "I am being recorded. Act normally."

Reading the words, the boys nodded in agreement. There was a short pause before Elliot broke it.

"This Twilight War…" Elliot trailed off. "Will this involve the deaths of the innocent?"

"Let me ask you one thing," Miranda rolled the scroll and placed it inside her bag. "You read a lot of books before. Books about magic, the past, and the wars that shaped our kingdom. Has there been any war recorded in history that doesn't involve deaths?"

"No," Elliot whispered in reply. "All wars will always have deaths in them."

"Sacrifices are necessary, Elliot," Miranda said. "Your job now is to win this war, so their deaths will not be in vain. Got that?"

With her final words of advice, Miranda left the men in the lobby of the inn. She told them she was going on another task on the other side of town, something that involves another case.

"The police officers definitely got their hands full," Luck moaned as he stretched his limbs. "About time too. They've been slacking off for this past few years that it's a surprise they're still intact."

"Police has their own sh*t to deal with on a daily basis," Frederick rolled his eyes. "And just as you heard Miranda, we need to win this war. Oracion Alma did their preparations for years while we're just starting, we have a long way to go so we better work our *sses off."

"I definitely don't like working," Luck grunted. "But anyway, we'll get going now. Connor, most likely your match for tomorrow will be a one-on-one matchup. Prepare for that."

"O-Okay," Connor responded. He didn't expect Luck to tell him something like that. He expected the man to say it with harsher words, but Luck didn't seem to speak his usual bullsh*t with them.

Perhaps it was because he too felt the pressure that was placed on their shoulders. It was hard for them to juggle all the problems at once that even Luck was getting affected by it.

"You know," Lance said before he followed the two. "Connor and Elliot, you guys should focus on your upcoming matches first. We'll take care of the rest so don't feel too pressured about it."

"Okay," Connor and Elliot chorused.

Lance chuckled and ruffled their hair, "You both had grown so much since that time. Let's go even more together. After this, let's try to unlock the secrets of the East."

"Roger that," Elliot said. "But we deserve a break after this. These enemies are relentlessly coming one aftet the other. They're not letting us relax."

Lance laughed lightly, "Yeah. We should relax. And I'm gonna head out. Good luck!"

With that, Lance left the inn. The group sighed to themselves as they went back to their own rooms. Two more days until the Twilight War begins, and no one was excited about it.

Elliot was in his room when he realized that the final Twilight Brew quest was still unavailable. It was the afternoon, so he could still complete the ninth quest he had, which was the.

Walking up to the corner, Elliot lifted the curtain to see the cocoon still in the stick. He took out the seventh brew and let the cocoon absorb it. The light burst out and the container was gone, the absorption was successful.

"Alright," Elliot said to himself.. "Let's complete this quest."
