Chapter 318 - Amplification
Aquarius felt a strong aura eerily similar to the one who breached the Championship of the Greats. This man and that woman were on the same level.
"He's going to kill us," Sybyl shrieked in panick. "I know him well enough to know that. Rade will kill us both."
"Why are you so scared?" Aquarius asked. "You broke the Zodiac Sphere with a snap of your fingers. That forcefield is one of the strongest protective spells in the world. It even takes hundreds of thousands of mana to activate. Why are you so scared?"
"That's only because I was under his zone," Sybyl whispered. "I cannot really cast high-level magic. He was just boosting me using his skill. Now that he sees my as a traitor, I'm defected."
"Don't worry," Aquarius said. "I got this."
The man raised his trident and slammed it on the ground. There was a vortex of water that formed underneath him, with a hole in the middle that looked like it was a pit of eternal darkness. He hovered over the hole while placing his free hand on Sybyl's bubble.
He was keeping them both afloat while the vortex rotated below them. Raising his trident and pointing it at Rade, Aquarius spoke, "Ocean–"
He stopped in the middle of his cast after realizing that his weapon is broken. An attack that breaks the integrity of a high quality weapon was something that's to be wary off.
With a chuckle, the man threw his trident to the side. He raised his hands instead and met his palm, making the vortex of water below them close.
"You know, the power of my attacks rely largely on my weapon," Aquarius said to Sybyl. He looked at her with a grin, his eyes glistening with excitement. "Losing it will ultimately spell my doom."
"I'm already scared and you're scaring me even more," Sybyl whispered. "I'm dead."
Rade took a few steps back. He looked at Aquarius and narrowed his eyes. "Attack me."
"I will," Aquarius said. He thrust his right hand forward that shot a pole made of water.
Rade sighed and took a marble from his pocket. He slammed the marble on the ground and it morphed into a doll with a dark brown hair.
The doll stood, moving in a twitch-like manner while it raised both his hands. Rade whispered something under his breath that made the doll levitate in his level. It created a large boulder in front of it and shot the boulder to block the water pole from Aquarius.
After the doll conjured its spell, it fell to the ground and stood there. This made Aquarius know the nature of Rade's magic.
He was able to conjure a doll with an affinity using his marbles. The doll can cast basic spells but he was able to amplify the power of its skills with his own magic.
Dolls with a similar concept to his are seen all over the kingdom. Gems are implanted onto them, but instead of attacks, they could create sounds that makes the children want it.
Aquarius knew that Rade was in a whole other level. Synchronously using the doll concept, spatial concept, and amplification was a feat worthy of any God title. If he was a Terran, Aquarius was confident that Rade could become a Guardian.
"You have a nice magic," Aquarius said. "It took me a while to understand what it does, but after I knew it only made me get scared even more."
"Are you really scared?" Rade asked. His voice was monotonous that made Aquarius irk to his bones. The angel's tone was flat and his speech were limited.
"Speak a bit," Aquarius said. "You're a boy who's capable of doing such magic. You should be proud of it."
"I am proud," Rade replied.
"Oh, yeah?" Aquarius smirked and chuckled. "Show me then."
Rade paused and nodded. He placed his hand on both his pockets and took out several marbles, all with different colors.
"What are you doing?!" Sybyl yelled. "He's going to have more dolls in his side. He can cast more skills."
"Why are you so loud?" Aquarius grunted. He rolled his eyes while kicking the bubble Sybyl was on. "Trust me. I'll come back for you so you better roll around inside that bubble like a hamster to hide."
Sybyl could only nod after seeing the confidence in Aquarius. She took his orders and rolled to the corner where she felt like she was safe, watching the fight unfold from a distance.
"I thought you want her as an ally?" Rade asked, his arms raising above his head. "I guess not."
The boy threw the marbles on the ground with a loud force, all of the small orbs of different colors glowed and formed dolls that were flodding Rade's foort. "I'll show you my true magic."
"I can't wait," Aquarius said. "Now, let's fight!"
The blue-haired man leaped from the ground and shot spheres of spinning water at Rade. The boy used his earth doll, this time along with two more to block the spheres with a larger the three dolls caster all at once.
Aquarius saw this, his head tilting to the side. "Why does it seem like there's less dolls?"
"Multiple Fraction," Rade whispered. "Surround and Destroy."
Dolls of different colored hairs appeared all around Aquarius. His eyes widened after seeing the dolls were already raiding their small ceramic palms at him. Every doll has a different affinity, all capable of casting a spell in a Level 30 Adventurer level.
"Oh, sh*t!" Was Aquarius's words before the dolls shot their magic at him. The nine dolls around him were shooting by threes, making it harder for the man to dodge or block their attacks.
"The dolls doesn't contain gems like you think they do," Rade yelled. When the dust in the air from the dolls' attacks cleared, Aquarius saw the terrifying look on Rade's eyes. "This is why I was banished from Heaven. These dolls contains the souls of the ones I killed."
"Heaven has terrible amount of psychopaths," Aquarius whispered. "How can their population cope up with these killings?"
His words were the least of his worries. Aquarius was now afraid more than ever. Just when he thought that Rade's magic would be divided once he has more magic to amplify, Rade showed him that his power is not going to divide. He could boost anything with their magic potential.
Even with a hundred people around him, Rade could boost all their powers.
"Ah, sh*t," Aquarius cursed.
