Chapter 108: Can I invite you for lunch?
Chapter 108: Can I invite you for lunch?
Shishio, Shiina, and Ritsu had arrived at the school, and before they separated in their own way, Shishio reminded them. “Senpai, Mashiro, don’t forget later, alright?”
“Um.” Shiina nodded and had woken up from her sleep slightly after she entered the school. She looked at Shishio and wanted to ask how to help him to say goodbye from their conversation last night, but she thought to ask him later, after all, she was quite sleepy and she didn’t really want someone to hear it.
“Yes, see you later, Oga-kun.” Ritsu nodded and didn’t think too much, still, somehow, after she met him, a lot of things happened, right? Fortunately, all the things which happened to her, even though some of them were troublesome, she didn’t hate it and it made her life more vibrant.
“See you later, Senpai, Mashiro,” Shishio said then left for his class. He felt quite glad that his task almost ended and he only needed to add one more member to the literature club. ‘Let’s see who I should invite?’ Out of the people he knew, except for Sorata, all of them could become members of the literature club.
When Shishio thought about Sorata, he was wondering what that guy wanted to do in the morning before, but based on his observations, he could tell that Sorata wanted to go to school with them, and it was also the reason why Sorata decided to wait for them. If Sorata decided to ask him to go to the school, then he didn’t mind, or rather, whether Sorata came to the school together or not, he had several ways to solve him, but Sorata didn’t do that only sat silently without saying anything while staring at Shiina, which somehow made him quite creepy.
If Shishio hadn’t talked to Sorata before, then Sorata would have become even creepier.
Shishio understood that Sorata was a very indecisive guy, but he didn’t expect him to be this indecisive. He had a feeling that guy was waiting for him to invite him, which made him snort inwardly since an opportunity had never waited for anyone, if you didn’t prepare, then you would get nothing, and that was Sorata now.
It might be because of the story that Shishio was quite wary of Sorata before, but when he understood Sorata’s personality better, there was really nothing special about him, Sorata was so ordinary that it made him yawn sometimes.
If Shiina didn’t appear, Shishio was sure that Sorata’s life was just like that, going to school, taking care of the cat, talking to his friend, and those actions being repeated every day until he graduated, but with Shiina, Sorata dared to face what he wanted to do in his life, and because of that, Sorata worked hard to achieve his dream, but when Sorata learned that it wasn’t easy to achieve his dream, even failed twice, he let out all of those frustrations to Shiina who was innocent and even supported him. Sorata didn’t even feel grateful toward Shiina who had done all the illustrations that were made for his game plan for the competition, and in the end, Sorata blamed and got angry toward her when he failed, thinking that the world was unfair for an ordinary guy like him.
Even at the end of the arc of the story, the reason why Shiina left was because of Sorata himself, blaming everything on Shiina who made him felt like an inferior being.
Shishio could only snort at how naive Sorata was, after all, achieving a dream wasn’t easy, or rather, there was no fairness in this world. Like himself, who was reincarnated and had everything from the system, or like a child of a rich person who had a lot of connections so they wouldn’t have to worry about their lives, but for someone like Sorata, unless they gritted their teeth, bleeding, and their bodies full of injuries, there was no way for him to achieve his dream.
Shishio knew that everything was unfair, and he also understood why Sorata was jealous, but it wasn’t the reason why Sorata could blame everything Shiina, rather than blaming the girl who was innocent, to think about how to improve himself and thinking why he failed so he could be better next time.
Shishio thought for a while and thought the reason why Sorata was attracted to Shiina was probably that Sorata felt that Shiina was inferior to him, after all, Shiina couldn’t even take care of herself, but everything was only a delusion, after all, Shiina was several times better than Sorata so when Sorata realized that, all Sorata wanted was to escape from Sakurasou, escaped from Shiina, who caused his inferiority to be stronger and stronger.
When Shishio thought about it, Usa was better, since Usa had never got angry and was even patient toward his heroine in the story.
Shishio shook his head and decided not to overthink Sorata since Sorata’s role in his life was no more than a background character like an unlucky person who met Kaiju several times and ran away when the Kaiju appeared, but this person didn’t have any connections with the story or anything, his face was just shown when Kaiju appeared, that’s all.
If Shishio had to say who he was the wariest of in Sakurasou then without a doubt, it would be Ryuunosuke, after all, Ryuunosuke was a genius programmer, and that was also the reason why he had never connected his laptop to the local network in Sakurasou, or rather, he had two laptops on his room, one was filled with a lot of secrets, and the other one was for a normal operation, researching various things in this world. He also didn’t put any app on his phone, since he didn’t want Ryuunosuke to see what was inside his phone, after all, there were a lot of secrets that couldn’t be known in his laptops and phone.
It was also the reason why Shishio was glad when he received “Programming Mastery” when he happened to see Ryuunosuke before, even though he felt complicated, but it was alright, after all, with this ability, he wouldn’t feel worried that Ryuunosuke might dig up his secret by using his programming ability, but in truth, he didn’t feel that worried about Ryuunosuke, after all, he knew where Ryuunosuke was living and if this guy dared to do something…
Anyway, Shishio hoped that Ryuunosuke didn’t do anything since he hoped that he could befriend him and hire him in the future, or else, he was going to mess up someone else’s life.
So when Shishio walked with Shiina and Ritsu, he didn’t hesitate to accept his reward, giving him some sense of security.
Shishio then entered his classroom, and his impression of anyone was very good, after all, his motto had always been that more friends were better than more enemies. “Good morning.”
“Good morning, Oga-kun.”
“Good morning.”
Shishio nodded and gave a light smile to his classmates that greeted him back before he sat on his seat, but when he was about to sit down, he could see that both Tagami and Usa had something to talk about with him, but before that…
“Shishio!”
Shishio looked at Nana in front of him and somehow noticed some difference in her. “Nana, did you do your nails?”
“Eh? Did you notice it?” Nana was surprised.
“Of course.” Shishio nodded and said, “I have seen you every day, and it’ll be weird if I don’t notice your change.”
“…” Nana’s momentum was weakened and she was quite shy at that moment. “So how is it?”
“It’s beautiful, it’s a perfect match for you,” Shishio said sincerely.
Nana wanted to say something, but then she closed her mouth again, she wasn’t sure what to say since she was too happy, but at the same time, she was also embarrassed.
Shishio knew that girls had always loved being praised for their small changes whether it was their hair, perfume, nails, or something that made them more beautiful. For guys, it might sound dumb, after all, there was no need to say something like that and whether it was hair, perfume, nails, or something, it was all the same as long as it made the girls more beautiful, which was why they didn’t understand girls very much and felt that girls were very troublesome. Unfortunately, the girls cared about those small things, and even if they were troublesome that, we, guys, loved them, right?
“….” Tagami and Usa didn’t bother them and watched the godly operation of Shishio from the side.
“Oh, right, I have gotten two new members for the literature club,” Shishio said.
“Really? Who?” Nana asked, but then her eyes narrowed and asked, “Is it a girl?”
“…..” Shishio was surprised, but he nodded. “Yes, both of them are tenants of Sakurasou and I have invited them to visit.”
Nana raised her eyebrow and didn’t expect that there would be more competitors. One was enough, but there were two more, but she also understood how charming this guy was, but she didn’t mind, or rather, it was good that the competitors appeared, after all, an enemy in the light was better than the enemy in the dark, however, he also knew that the two girls from Sakurasou had a huge advantage since they could meet him every day, but she wasn’t someone who was afraid of a challenge!
Nana would show them the spirit of gyaru!
Shishio looked at Nana who was in deep thought, then looked at Usa and Tagami since he knew that those two wanted to ask him something. “What’s wrong, Usa, Tagami? You have something to ask me?”
Tagami nodded and said, “Yeah, Oga, can we have lunch together later?” He didn’t want to embarrass Usa, especially he knew that Nana was the type of girl who loved to cause a commotion so it was better to talk somewhere else.
“Lunch?” Shishio was surprised.
“Un, Usa is going to treat us,” Tagami said without hesitation.
“What?!” Usa was startled.
Tagami snorted and whispered, “If you don’t do this then do you think that Oga will come with you? If you’re told to have lunch with a beautiful girl and two guys which one will you choose?”
“I…” Usa gritted his teeth, but when he thought about the beautiful girl that he saw yesterday. He nodded without hesitation and said, “Yes, I’ll treat you, Oga-kun.”
“…” Shishio looked at Usa whose expression was like a soldier who was ready to do a “kamikaze” operation during World War II and couldn’t help but feel speechless. “Well, you don’t need to treat me, but let’s eat in the cafeteria since I’m curious about that place.” He then looked at Nana and asked, “Nana, how about you? Do you want to come with us?”
Nana was about to agree, but…
“Wait! Wait!” Tagami and Usa quickly stopped their conversation.
“Oga, this is a conversation between a man!” Tagami said with a serious expression.
“Yeah, no girls are allowed!” Usa nodded.
Nana snorted and looked at them with disdain. “Aren’t you just talking about a girl? What are you afraid of? I’m not going to blabber my mouth anywhere.”
However, Tagami and Usa were firm and they wouldn’t budge no matter what.
Shishio shook his head and said, “Well, Nana, sorry, but I’ll go with them for lunch.”
“Well, if you say so.” Nana nodded and said, “See you later at the club then.” She also didn’t force him to go with her, after all, a certain distance also created a beauty, still, what she was more excited about for the Saturday when both of them would go out together to take her game on her big sister’s dorm. She chuckled and wondered about her big sister’s reaction when she introduced Shishio to her.
“Alright, see you later,” Shishio said. He nodded, then looked at Usa, and said, “You’re going to treat me, right?” He had given up, eating together with a beautiful girl, so it was normal for him to ask for something, right?
“…….” Usa could only helplessly nod at this moment while thinking about his pocket money.
