Chapter 172.1 The Righteous and Benevolent Wang Ke (1/2)
Chapter 172.1 The Righteous and Benevolent Wang Ke (1/2)
Zi Chongshan and Zi Bufan fought fiercely above the Dragon Gate Assembly grounds. Deafening explosions and blinding lights flashed, while lightning bolts struck. God Wang Tower received a fair share of lightning strikes; fortunately, the lightning rods managed to pull through. Wang Ke heaved a sigh of relief.
Beneath him—miserable cries were still heard, coming from within the Blood Nourishing Dragon Array. All the people trapped inside the spell array were also engaged in bloody fights.
"Oh yes, Zhang Zhengdao, how was your abduction work yesterday?" Wang Ke asked.
Zhang Zhengdao was a little shocked. "Abduct what?"
"I’m talking about the twenty insurance buyers who refused to leave! Did you manage to kidnap and take them away?" Wang Ke asked again.
Zhang Zhegndao’s face froze.
"What’s that expression on your face? What do you mean? Don’t tell me you didn’t do it?" Wang Ke shouted in horror.
"I did! I covered someone’s head with a sack… And then… Then…!" Zhang Zhengdao said, feeling embarrassed.
"Then what happened?"
"Then his senior apprentice-brother found out and I got beaten up. Look at my body! Look at these bruises! I rested for an entire day and only now do I feel like my old self!" Zhang Zhengdao said helplessly.
"So you’re saying that you failed in kidnapping them, and then you went back to sleep? And you only woke up until the next day?" Wang Ke asked with glaring eyes.
"I…!" Zhang Zhengdao felt ashamed of himself.
"Damn it. Twenty of them! And you didn’t even send one of them away?" Wang Ke asked, still glaring.
"I did my best!" Zhang Zhengdao responded sadly.
"Twenty of them! If they die, I must compensate their beneficiaries with two million pounds of spirit stones! Are you nuts! Do you even have the money to compensate them?" Wang Ke berated his companion.
"Me? The most I can give is my commission. I can’t give any more than that!" Zhang Zhengdao answered.
"Nonsense! Two million pounds! And you want me to pay? You’re crazy!" Wang Ke continued.
"I have no money!" Zhang Zhengdao was straight to the point.
Wang Ke: "………………!"
After a moment of silence, Wang Ke felt it was pointless to continue arguing. Zhang Zhengdao is the real iron rooster! He’ll never return what he took.
"Did you see them coming to the Dragon Gate Assembly?" Wang Ke asked.
"I saw a few!" Zhang Zhengdao answered.
"What are you waiting for? Tell me their locations now!" Wang Ke demanded with a stare.
"They’re fighting inside. I don’t know where they went! How am I supposed to point you to them?" Zhang Zhengdao replied helplessly.
"Damn you!" Wang Ke cursed out of frustration. He turned around and looked at the Snake King.
"Why are you looking at me?" the Snake King said with a stare, "I have no idea what you guys are talking about!"
"Snake King! We’ll go down there to save some people!" Wang Ke said.
"Save people? Go down there? You must be crazy! We’ll die if we go!" the Snake King cried out in shock.
"We won’t die. We’ll be perfectly safe having you as escort!" Wang Ke explained.
"Nonsense! You’ll be safe, but not me! Why should I escort you? Just look at how big I am! I’ll be attacked from all directions!" the Snake King objected.
But Wang Ke stared at him, "Don’t forget, the Demon Sovereign has his eyes on you. If you don’t listen to me, I will ask him to get rid of you!" Wang Ke demanded with a stare.
The Snake King, "…………..!"
The Snake King tried a softer approach, "We can’t go down. We’ll lose our minds down there. Don’t you know this already?"
"Yeah, Wang Ke, are you crazy? You will die if you go down now!" Zhang Zhengdao joined the Snake King’s side.
"Bullsh*t! We’re talking about two million pounds of spirit stones! Two million! You bastard! I will lose a lot of money thanks to you! Of course, I need to go down there and save those people!" Wang Ke raged.
Zhang Zhengdao was rendered speechless. So it’s all my fault? I also got beaten up really badly last night!
"Wang Ke, it’s not that I don’t want to help you. Most importantly, we will lose our minds once we get down there. I don’t want to die!" the Snake King said in frustration.
Wang Ke explained, "You’ll be all right. Have you forgotten how you regained your sanity just now?" Wang Ke said.
The Snake King was in a daze.
Damn, I was awakened by your smelly fart! That foul smell of yours can dispel the array’s influence on our minds?
Zhang Zhengdao also came to a realization. "Oh yeah, Wang Ke, your essence Qi might really work! You guys can give it a try!"
"Zhang Zhengdao, you’re coming with us!" Wang Ke demanded.
"What? I’m going down there, too?" Zhang Zhengdao was taken aback.
"Damn it. Do you guys still refuse to go down? Shall I remove all the lightning rods right now and go down on my own? The two of you can just wait for the tower to be destroyed and then fall into the spell array!" Wang Ke threatened.
"You!" Zhang Zhengdao and the Snake King grumbled in anger.
"Why? The tower is mine! MINE! I can do whatever I want with it! I’m already treating you guys well by letting you stay here! How dare you stare at me?" Wang Ke berated them in anger.
Zhang Zhengdao: "………………!"
The Snake King: "…………………..!"
"Just shut your mouths and follow me. Hurry up!" Wang Ke urged.
The man and the snake were awfully reluctant, but they could only give in to Wang Ke’s intimidation and start their descent slowly.
The moment they passed the twenty-fifth floor, Zhang Zhengdao and the reptile felt their minds ringing. Their eyes turned red, while insanity was overtaking them, putting a murderous look on their faces.
At that moment—Wang Ke stuffed two thumb-sized turbid essence Qi puffs into their noses.
"Blarrgh!"
"Blarrgh!"
The two of them started retching.
"Smell it once, and you’ll feel awakened and refreshed! Smell it twice, and you’ll feel brimming with energy! How about that? You guys are awake now, right?" Wang Ke asked.
"Damn! It’s too damn smelly! Wang Ke, can’t you give me a smaller portion?" Zhang Zhengdao complained angrily.
"Wang Ke, I will swallow you for sure when we get back! Roar!" the Snake King bellowed in a fit of rage.
