Chapter 78.2 Escaping from Divine Dragon Island (2/2)
Chapter 78.2 Escaping from Divine Dragon Island (2/2)
“Do you want to die?” Tong An’an asked.
“Northern Gambling God had a key for the bank. He stole another one from me, and he persuaded you into giving him your keys. So…!” Tong An’an hinted at the group.
“Oh yeah… Right! It’s all the Northern Gambling God’s fault. We have nothing to do with this!” one of them took the cue, and everyone felt relieved.
“What do you think? Do you still think I should protect the Northern Gambling God?” Tong An’an asked, looking at his men.
“Chapter Lord is wise! Northern Gambling God deserves a thousand deaths!” Everyone expressed how fortunate they felt.
All of them would croak if the Northern Gambling God didn’t take the blame. Even the huge problem in the accounts could be pushed onto the Northern Gambling God.
“Northern Gambling God lost all the blood essence to Wang Ke. Wang Ke has all the packs, but we are still responsible for losing our keys; pushing the blame onto the Northern Gambling God is only a temporary fix. We still need to recover all the money and blood essence from Wang Ke!” Tong An’an reminded them.
“That’s right. We need to make him spit everything out!” one of them said with clenched fists.
“But how do we do that now?” Southern Gambling Saint asked anxiously.
Someone walked in at that moment; that person was none other than Zhu Yan.
“Chapter Lord Tong, I received information that Wang Ke has departed!” Zhu Yan said, clenching his fists in excitement.
“Hmm?” Everyone turned to look at Zhu Yan.
“Don’t worry,” Tong An’an explained, “This is Zhu Yan. He has a grudge against Wang Ke! He told me about it after Wang Ke went to the Parlor Lord’s palace. He wants to take part in dealing with Wang Ke alongside us!”
“Oh?” They were still sizing Zhu Yan up.
“Don’t worry. Wang Ke’s actions caused the loss of my empire, the repeated beatings I endured, and my utter embarrassment. Our grudge is absolutely irreconcilable. You can’t go near my ancestral uncle’s palace, but I can. I clearly saw with my own eyes that Wang Ke has just departed; that’s why I’m here to share the information. I’m not asking for any favors, only to be there when you kill Wang Ke! Let me be the one who strikes the final blow!” Zhu Yan said with gnashing teeth.
Everyone looked back at Tong An’an.
After some thought, Tong An’an finally nodded and said, “I found out about the things that happened between Wang Ke and Zhu Yan. We should be able to trust him!”
Tong An’an’s vouching made everyone finally lower their guard.
“Chapter Lord, when are we moving out?” Zhu Yan asked hopefully.
“He’s going to the snake den north of Divine Dragon Island? That’s the best place. We just have to go there and make Wang Ke stay there for good!” Tong An’an said.
“Let’s go then!” Zhu Yan replied with anticipation.
“We can’t. We are already on the Parlor Lord’s list of suspects. He must have eyes on our every move already. Someone will inform him the moment we step out!” Tong An’an answered.
“Then, what should we do?” Zhu Yan asked with a frown.
But Tong An’an turned his eyes to the distance.
“Chapter Lord, are we really taking that path?” Southern Gambling Saint asked in shock.
“Yes. Not many people know that the Ten-thousand Serpent Pool connects to the beach outside the snake den in the north. The venomous snakes in the pool swim up from that underwater tunnel; it’s just that they can’t go back because of the pool’s array.” Tong An’an explained.
“Ah? The snake pool is connected to the northern snake beach? And you want to go there through the tunnel under the pool? But how do we get in? There’s snake venom to be wary of!” Zhu Yan asked fearfully.
He still had a fresh memory of what had happened after being bitten by one of those snakes, and no longer dared to experience it again.
“You suffered from that recent snake bite because the array prevented you from using your essence Qi. We can switch off the array for a moment. There’s nothing to fear if we can use our essence Qi to guard our bodies! We can reactivate the array after we enter the underwater tunnel. This means that we need a few to stay here to coordinate those things! I already made arrangements; you just have to follow us!” Tong An’an reassured Zhu Yan.
“Okay!” Zhu Yan nodded, feeling a little unsure.
Then, Tong An’an waved his hand; some demons appeared to be waiting on the mountain peak. They nodded and disappeared in an instant after seeing Tong An’an’s signal.
A blue ray illuminated the Ten-thousand Serpent Pool right after.
“Those on the mountain have just deactivated the array. Follow me, let’s go!” Tong An’an instructed.
“Splash!”
He was the first to jump into the pool; the other demons followed closely behind. Only Zhu Yan had reservations in his heart. However, his extreme hatred for Wang Ke fueled his resolve; he jumped down with gritted teeth.
The snakes seemed to realize that the array was down, so they started to swim toward the shore.
A few demons that stayed behind quickly slew the snakes.
After a while, a demon responsible for killing the snakes waved his hand high in the hair. Once they saw the signal, the demons on the mountain nodded and restored the spell array.
“Ring!”
The blue light in the Ten-thousand Serpent Pool disappeared. All the snakes that were rushing toward the shore were pushed back; it was as though nothing had happened just then.
A few demons waited patiently.
—————
In the northern region of the Divine Dragon Island!
Wang Ke walked briskly with a balloon in his hand. Uhh, no… A balloon-like barrier artifact. It was a giant transparent ball in which a massive ship was stored.
That was the Miasmic Sea Ship. She Qingqing had helped Wang Ke to procure one from Zhu Hongyi. Its ginormous size could not fit into Wang Ke’s storage bangle. The ship could only be wrapped within that balloon-like artifact in the air, all to make it easier to move off-shore.
Wang Ke wanted to run! That was why he couldn’t leave by the three normal routes in the east, south, and west. He didn’t want to raise suspicion among the demons, or else more troubles could arise.
Wang Ke had to be extra careful as he moved in the north. He met no demons along the way.
“Didn’t they say that the mountainous region in the north is filled with venomous snakes?” Wang Ke muttered to himself in doubt, “Where are the snakes?”
Wang Ke didn’t see a single one along the way, not even when he reached the shore.
“Are they making fun of me? They said that the venomous snakes on the shore can pile up like mountains… Where are the snakes? They even said that the snakes were ferocious and hostile. I deliberately delayed my advance for so many days and nights, just to prepare to handle them. And now, where are the snakes?” Wang Ke muttered in astonishment.
The barren beach didn’t have a single trace of a snake. The closest things to snakes were the snake eggs. The place was apparently not as described by everyone.
I kept myself up day and night painstakingly learning how to deal with snakes, and it was all for nothing?
“Damn. Are all the demons on this island blind? Why would they say this place is filled with snakes? They must be insane. I wasted too many days because of it!” Wang Ke was really frustrated.
But despite his frustration, he still burst the bubble and released the massive Miasmic Sea Ship into the sea.
“Forget it. I’m better off without them. I can leave earlier!” Wang Ke discarded his confusion and was just about to board the ship—
“Wang Ke! Wang Ke is over there! Don’t let him get away!” A voice came calling from a relative distance.
Wang Ke looked around and saw Tong An’an rushing toward him with a group of demons.
“Tong An’an?” Wang Ke’s face blackened.
