Chapter 85.2 Who Had It Worse Than Me? (2/2)
No one knew for how long they had fled.
Wang Ke glanced at his back and cried out in shock, “Oh no, we need to move faster. The Snake King is catching up!”
He saw a gigantic snake head moving toward them from the back; it was about to swallow them whole with its massive mouth.
“We’re about to reach the Ten-thousand Serpent Pool inside the prison complex. There’s some light ahead of us!” Wang Ke shouted.
But the Snake King’s head was already upon them.
“Ghoul Frost Seal!” Princess Youyue shouted.
She waved her hand, and the Long Beads on her wrist released a powerful blue radiance.
“Ringggg!”
The seawater behind the two of them froze instantly, sealing the Snake King inside.
“He’s frozen?” Wang Ke was taken by surprise.
“My beads not only can help in concealing cultivation; it is also an enchanted artifact. It’s just that the Snake King is too powerful; I won’t be able to hold for long!” Princess Youyue cried out.
“Boooom!”
The Snake King forcefully shattered the ice; the powerful shockwave sent Wang Ke and the princess flying out of the underwater tunnel.
“Pffftt!”
The power recoil caused the princess to vomit blood.
“Booooom~~~~~~~!”
The two of them were pushed out of the Ten-thousand Serpent Pool and up into the sky by a powerful water surge.
Next, the Snake King’s head followed closely behind them.

At the Divine Dragon Island’s prison complex—
Tong An’an looked at the Southern Gambling Saint and the others. All of them were worried by the chance of being caught by the “Demon Sovereign” that Wang Ke spoke about when they escaped the day before; so, they could only make the trip back through the Ten-thousand Serpent Pool’s tunnel. Unfortunately, the spell array was already back in place; their cultivations were completely suppressed, and all the venomous snakes swarmed over and started biting at them. They almost didn’t make it out.
They were afraid that others might learn of their plight, so they could only stay in the prison complex and force out the venom inside their bodies. Still, none of them had fully done it.
“Speak!” Tong An’an continued asking Zhu Yan; some people moved the stretcher the latter was lying on to approach the island leader.
Zhu Yan had “sabotaged” Tong An’an the previous day, causing a heavy loss for the Chapter Lord. Tong An’an was already so angry with Zhu Yan, yet the latter was requesting an audience for some reason.
Tong An’an tried his best to listen to Zhu Yan patiently.
“That’s how it happened, Chapter Lord. I’m not lying to you, it’s all true! You have to chase after Wang Ke and kill him! He’s Chen Tianyuan’s disciple and a fake demonic disciple!” Zhu Yan pleaded hopefully, enduring the poison in his body.
Tong An’an looked at his then silent subordinates, before looking back at Zhu Yan.
“Are you sure?” Tong An’an walked closer to Zhu Yan.
“Yes, I am!” Zhu Yan replied in excitement.
Nice, the Chapter Lord believes me. Quick, go and kill Wang Ke.
“Piak!”
Tong An’an gave Zhu Yan a tight slap.
“Chapter Lord, why did you slap me?” Zhu Yan was taken aback.
“You still freaking ask why I slapped you? You bast*rd. Do you think you can play us like fools just because you’re Zhu Hongyi’s grandnephew? And you say that Wang Ke is only at the Innate Stage? He escaped the Divine Dragon Island? And he’s Chen Tianyuan’s disciple? Bullsh*t!” Tong An’an roared with glaring eyes.
“I did not!” Zhu Yan was at a loss for words.
“Wang Ke is favored by the Demon Sovereign; he’s also working as a covert trump-card directly under the Demon Sovereign’s control. He’s at the Astral Infant Stage, and yet you’re asking me to kill him? Are you crazy, or do you think the crazy one is me?” Tong An’an berated furiously.
“You didn’t kill him with your punch because he had an enchanted artifact protecting him. You were deceived!” Zhu Yan explained.
“You’re the one who was deceived! Wang Ke is Chen Tianyuan’s disciple? Why don’t you say that he’s the ringleader of the righteous faction? Who are you trying to fool, you lunatic? Ahh?” Tong An’an roared.
“It’s real. He admitted it!” Zhu Yan pleaded miserably.
“Piak!”
Tong An’an gave Zhu Yan another slap. “I want you to admit. I want you to admit it! How dare you try to deceive me? Say it again, say it one more time! Is Wang Ke Chen Tianyuan’s disciple?”
I’ve lost so many things as of late; I’m so angry right now! And Zhu Yan still tries to fool me with lies even kids wouldn’t believe?
“It’s true…!” Zhu Yan wailed while covering his face due to the pain.
“Piak!” Another slap was served.
“Is it true?” Tong An’an eyes turned red with anger.
“It’s true…!”
“Piak!” Another slap.
“Is it true?” The furious Tong An’an questioned again.
“It’s…!”
Zhu Yan saw Tong An’an raising his hand, so he quickly continued, “Fake!” He wanted to cry but had no tears.
“Piak!” And another slap landed squarely on his face.
“I already said it was fake! Why did you slap me again?” Zhu Yan complained bitterly.
“Humph. So it’s fake then… and you dare fool me with fake information? Brat, I would have killed you were it not for your ancestral uncle! Humph! How dare you lie to me? How dare you! Lock him up in prison!” Tong An’an said, seething.
Zhu Yan: “……………..!”
“Chapter Lord, wouldn’t this be a little inappropriate?” said the concerned Southern Gambling God.
“What’s inappropriate about it? Zhu Hongyi was the one who ordered to lock him up, but didn’t give the order to release him. I previously let him go to show Zhu Hongyi some respect. Now I no longer need to care about him; hasn’t he done enough harm to us?” Tong An’an said in bitter anger.
“Yes, Chapter LOrd!”
The demons dragged Zhu Yan down from his stretcher and locked him in a prison cell once again.
“Why, why!” Zhu Yan was mourning but his eyes were dry.
Why does no one believe me whenever I speak the truth!
“Wang Ke is from the Heavenly Wolf Sect, you have to believe in me. He is Chen TIanyuan’s disciple! He’s a fake demon! He’s from the righteous faction! You have to believe in me! I’m telling you the truth! Go after Wang Ke and kill him!” Zhu Yan sniveled weakly.
Unfortunately, none of the demons believed him; they left Zhu Yan alone, shouting and crying. All of a sudden, he felt chills down his spine.
Zhu Yan turned around while supporting himself against the railing.
He was surrounded in the next moment by emasculated prisoners dragging the chains sealing their shoulder blades.
“Beat him up!” said the second senior apprentice fiercely.
A group of prisoners surrounded Zhu Yan and started to beat him up.
Zhu Yan would have had no problem dealing with those prisoners when he was his usual self. But now, Zhu Yan was covered in injuries, and he had actually been poisoned with snake venom. He was in an utterly pathetic state, almost like a human vegetable. There was no way he could fight back.
“Ahhhh~~~~~~~~~~~~~~!”
Zhu Yan’s shrieks of pain could be heard all over the prison.
“Someone help me, please!” Zhu Yan cried out in quite the tortured tone.
“Booooom~~~~~~~~~~~!”
A loud explosion was heard coming from the Ten-thousand Serpent Pool. The water splashed into the air, sending two people into the sky. They were Wang Ke and Princess Youyue.
