Kiss Me Not

Chapter 227 - Kissing You, Anytime, Anywhere?

Cain brought Kimmy into a fancy restaurant for dinner after watching a movie. Kimmy could not help herself but replayed inside her head what Cain said a while ago inside the movie theater. He said he liked kissing her and he was willing to take their relationship to the next level.

She gave him a quick glance as she tried to think of what he meant by the 'next level.' Did he seriously mean it like getting married? Just because he liked kissing her? That was too ridiculous a reason.

Kimmy suddenly felt dizzy as her brain became so busy making different interpretations of Cain's words. She could have asked him right away, but she did not want to be the one to open the topic for some reason.

.

Cain looked at her and asked, "What do you want to eat?"

Kimmy bashfully gave her order to Cain without looking back at him. She did not know what was wrong with her. She was feeling nervous and shy, yet excited at the same time. 'How could someone have such contradictory feelings?' she wondered to herself.

"Kimberly…" Cain called her so she had no choice but to look at him instead of pretending to be deaf that looked obvious. Cain was staring at her intently, so she bravely met his eyes. For once and for all, she wanted to know what was going on.

Cain was feeling nervous but he wanted to make sure that he and Kimmy were on the same page. He was a psychiatrist and based on Kimmy's movements, reactions, and words from the past weeks he has been with her… he could tell that she had created a wall around her to protect herself.

She was indecisive about entering into a serious relationship because she was scared that it would end in failure like her mother's relationship with her father. He heard that Princess Leila's husband was a respectable and nice man.

That was what everyone knew about him at least… but unknown to many, Princess Leila experienced a lot of emotional torture in their marriage. Still, she wanted to keep her family intact and protect the royal family's name, so she tried her best to make sure that it would not end up in a broken family.

Unfortunately, the family still ended up broken, with Kimmy being broken as well, witnessing how her parent's relationship went astray as she grew up.

"What is it?" Kimmy finally found her voice to ask.

"What I said earlier…"

"Oh yeah... Don't worry... I mean, let's do this…." Kimmy stuttered, thinking of how to place her words. "Uhm... you see, I'm honestly confused right now about what I am feeling. I feel like something is off. I mean, I am your run-away bride and we have this weird relationship going on like me being your servant and now we are swapping roles…"

"I admit… I like kissing you as well. Maybe, what we feel towards each other is nothing so serious but more like a physical attraction." Kimmy blurted while she slightly bowed her head down, unable to look into Cain's eyes.

She did not know why she said that but it was true that she was too confused. Besides, she was not sure of Cain's real intention so she would rather stand on the safe side of the boat.

Cain fisted his hand under the table. It looked like it would still take him a long way. He noticed that being aggressive was more effective on Kimmy. Doing things in action aggressively rather than trying to talk to her. She's saying many things when talking but with physical intimacy, she was not rejecting him at all.

Cain's expression darkened but he immediately replaced it with a calm face when Kimmy suddenly raised her head to look at him after he did not utter a single word for a whole minute.

"We still have a lot of time to figure things out, I guess. We'll see… The food is here. Let's eat," Cain commented as the waiter served them their dinner.

Kimmy focused on her food. None of them talked while eating. Both were too busy with their own thoughts. They soon finished dinner and Cain, as agreed, served her like she was doing… Pulling her seatbelt for her as soon as she was on the passenger seat in his car.

There shouldn't be any problem since she liked the idea of bossing him around to get even with his childishness while he was bossing her around… but… Cain was too damn close, distractingly close that just one wrong move from them, and their faces would kiss each other already.

She technically held her breath but coughed unexpectedly, making Cain turn his face to her.

"Are you alright?" Cain asked with his warm breath touching the skin of her face.

She did not open her mouth to answer but she only nodded at him. Her heart was pounding so hard. 'Why is he so close?'

Cain stared at her for a long time, suppressing himself from kissing Kimmy again at that point, but it was really hard so he ended up giving her a soft kiss on her lips. It was only light that he moved back quickly since he no longer trusted his self control.

Kimmy immediately covered her lips only for her to realize that her reaction was so late. The deed had already been done. Cain even chuckled at her.

"Stop that!" she complained.

"Okay, I will stop laughing," Cain answered.

"Not laughing! I mean stop kissing me so suddenly!"

"You don't like it so sudden?" Cain asked.

"Yes! I mean...no!"

"You want me to stop?" Cain asked next.

"Yes!" What was she even saying?

"You like me kissing you anytime, anywhere?" Cain asked last.

"Yes!"

"Then good. That's the only thing that matters to us now Kimberly so please feel free to kiss me anytime, anywhere and as much as you want as well. Take note of that. For now, let's go home now." Cain said with a wink before he left her to walk round to the driver's door.

Kimberly was so speechless, wondering if it was the same Cain she met the day she came to Derhan Palace.

'What happened to him? How did he become this shameless?! Is he really Cain Lewis? Or could it be his clone. What the hell is going on with this man?!'
