142 Green Slime
Strangely, the back of Hiro’s hand stopped bleeding after Noah used a skill he had just learned [Purify]. A very simple basic skill that used water as the main element. The skill could dispel certain magic effects caused by non-living objects.
The pain and burning sensation were decreasing. Hiro and Noah had a guess of the reason the hand suddenly reacts strangely like that.
“What have you done?” Noah checked Hiro’s hand one more time as he interrogated him with an accusing question.
“Nothing.” Hiro knew Noah would not accept such a simple answer.
“It’s a holy attribute,” he added. Hiro was sure the reason his hand was blistered and bleeding was because of holy attributes. He immediately took out a health potion from his inventory and drank it, restoring his HP to normal.
“Thank you, Noah. You saved me.”
Noah suddenly stood up and crossed his arms in front of his chest. Out of the corner of his hawk-eyed, he looked at Hiro with an annoyed expression.
“Don’t you care about yourself? What kind of demon touched an object with holy attributes?” He rolled his eyes, still with his annoyance.
Hiro chuckled.
“You look like my brother, telling me I can’t take care of myself, huh?” Hiro mumbled while tapping his knees before standing up. He looked straight into Noah’s eyes.
“I’m not that stupid, Noah. There is a demon hiding in the cursed Sigil on my hand. It seems that the demon has a higher sensitivity with holy attributes. I didn’t touch anything.”
Hiro walked back in the direction where he had got a strange reaction in his hand. He had called Meta several times to ask what was really going on, but there was no answer. It looked like the demon fell unconscious.
He couldn’t do it by himself, so Hiro told Noah to check the wall, and Noah did it with great curiosity.
Noah purposely put his ear to the wall. Who knows, maybe he could hear the boss’s voice hiding behind the wall, but it was quiet. There was only the sound of water droplets. If he heard it for too long, he could be hypnotized.
“Shall we destroy it?” Noah was really curious about the thing behind the wall. Of course, Hiro didn’t agree with Noah’s idea. He shook his head firmly.
“Do you want to kill me here when no one is looking?”
Hiro suspected that there was a source of holy water behind the wall. However, if the barrier was destroyed, the room where he was currently standing could be flooded by the holy water.
Once again, he studied the ice crystals that filled the cave. The ice crystals seemed to be formed from pure water. It looked clear and sparkling, unlike stalactite which was formed from minerals that dissolved with water.
It seemed there had been drops of water in that place before.
“It’s strange, there weren’t many ice crystals like this before in the previous place,” Hiro muttered suspiciously.
However, before he could inspect it any further, Noah suddenly shouted from a different direction. It wasn’t from the place where there was an effect of holy attributes.
“Hiro, come here! I found a way.”
Hiro immediately rushed to Noah.
In front of him, a lever of stone trapped in a frozen water crystal. It was the exact same colour as the sharp ice crystal on the ceiling.
“Melt it down.”
Blarrr!
Red flames suddenly blasted out of Noah’s palms like an explosion.
Hiro was surprised to see the fire that was different from the fire elemental magic that Noah had used before. It seemed to be darken.
“I told you, my magic has been weird lately. But don’t worry, I can melt this ice in an instant.”
Noah brought his hand that continued to emit flames like a rocket towards the stone lever. Naturally, the closer to the fire, the ice crystals melted into water that dripped onto the ground.
In a few seconds, the stone lever could be touched.
“Don’t let the other ice crystals melt with your fire.” Hiro moved to touch the stone lever, but his hand felt like it was burning again. He reflexively pulled his hand back.
“Argh! Damn it! Your fire really burns it to its roots.” Hiro protested, blaming Noah who immediately frowned at Hiro’s reaction.

“No way. I often use it to cook food, and I can control which one is heated. There’s no way the stone is hot.”
Hiro raised his hand, which was already blistered red.
Noah rolled his eyes again. His hand moved to grip the stone lever without hesitation. And… he didn’t pull his hand at all.
Bzzzz!
The wall to their left suddenly moved upwards, forming a square road five meters high and 20 meters wide. It seemed the gate camouflaged as a wall.
“I told you. It’s not hot at all.” Noah was still annoyed by Hiro’s accusations against his fire.
Hiro didn’t say anything. He immediately ran towards the wide wall on the left which revealed a giant, dark hallway.
“What place is this? It was huge.” This time, he took out his sword and walked closer to the giant hole to investigate it further.
[Fire Torch]
Noah ended up using his fire magic as a light.
The two of them walked straight ahead. The giant tunnel was only one way. There wasn’t a layer of snow like before,
even so…
the green slime that Hiro and Noah found clinging to the water crystals in the previous room could be seen decorating the tunnel. It stuck to the wall, ceiling, and even the rocky ground.
“We’re close to where the boss is,” Noah mumbled, remembering Hiro’s words about the boss’ hideout earlier. His voice sounded squeaky in fright.
Hiro realized this tunnel was too enormous. It could be that the boss he would fight had more or less the same size as the tunnel.
“We should check that thing.” Hiro stopped and pointed at the lump of green slime that had accumulated on the ground in front of him.
“No… what if it’s a trap?”
Hiro ignored Noah and walked closer to the slime. Slowly, he poked the slime with the tip of his greatsword. No reaction. Hiro was about to touch it with his bare hands until suddenly…
At the same time, Noah and Hiro were startled by the man’s scream. It was echoing loudly from another side of the tunnel.
“Aaarghhhhh!”
“It’s them!” Noah knew he wasn’t wrong this time.
Hiro reflexively ran towards the source of the sound at full speed.
“Let’s go!”
Tap! tap! tap!
The tunnel was really only one way.
At the other end of the tunnel…
The other raid party members gathered together. However… they were cornered. In front of them was a dead body that was drenched in green slime.
The skin of the person’s body slowly eroded until finally he was only a skeleton of bones.
