Splat!!
Hiro had just managed to cut off the monster’s leg for the eighth times, reducing the height of the monster by half a meter. However, the monster still moved freely and launched a counterattack on melee-type players who tried to tear its body apart.
Meanwhile, the three mages were standing on different sides of the monster. Each of them didn’t stop attacking the monster’s body, who looked terrifying. Noah wiped the sweat that ran down his temples repeatedly.
In contrast to Noah, who focused on using fire-type magic, Draco of Immortal Knights used wind-type magic that functioned like physical-type attacks whose power could tear apart the monster’s body like using a sword.
Even though the boss’ HP had been revealed a few minutes ago, Hiro observed that the boss’s HP bar didn’t drop at all, as if the damage it received as well as the regeneration skill had equal value. He couldn’t let that happen, especially after looking around and seeing that the others were getting tired.
The old Immortal knights looked exhausted and started to lose their focus. Some of them were even repeatedly thrown away and kicked by one of the spider’s legs. Luckily, TheWitchDoctor, Alan, was always there to save them from being killed.
At this rate, they would lose. Besides, the AP potions and energy potions they have had a limited amount of stock, and it could run out at any time.
Hiro slashed the monster’s abdomen with all his might as the blade turned purple. This was the second time he had used the skill, but the first attack was missed. It failed to reduce the monster’s HP. It was as if the monster had an anti- to the unique skill of Hiro’s sword. The second attack was the same, the monster’s HP didn’t manage to decrease by 75% but only by a half.
“Damn it!” The monster managed to get Hiro annoyed. He jumped to avoid the feet of the monster that was aiming at him.
Hiro landed right next to DemonHunterz who continued to fire his rifle. He had changed the megazine of his gun so many times that it was scattered on the stone floor of the room. He only glanced at Hiro briefly before he focused on shooting at the monster again.
“Something doesn’t feel right ,” Hiro muttered as he slammed his fist on the ground. He had never spent that much time fighting monsters. He saw the back of his left hand, which had been emitting a black light.
The lines of the Sigil curse seemed to have thickened. It was the same reaction when Meta told him that there was a very strong power of curse. Seeing this, Hiro was convinced that the source of the curse was on the spider-monster like. He had to beat it, no matter what.
“This has no end. I have one last stack of AP potions left,” TheWeissX grumbled, a mage of the Immortal Knights guild members who used fire-type magic elements like Noah.
The colour of the flames looked bluish. It was in contrast to Noah’s dark red flames. Hiro opened his inventory to check how many energy potions he had. However, when he opened his inventory slots, he had just remembered that he bought several scroll items that functioned like enchantments for the damage he inflicted.
[Holy attribute scroll]
[Within the next 30 minutes, all damage the player inflicts will be converted to holy attribute type. Highly recommended against bloodline demon monsters]
Ding!
[You have used 1 Holy attribute scroll]
Hiro swallowed hard. Even though he was from the bloodline of the demon, his body didn’t react strangely when he used the scroll. He was already worried about the side effects.
“How could I forget this important thing?”
Hiro jumped onto the spider monster’s back. This time, he planned to stab the blade of his sword into the bulkhead between the monster’s stomach and head. He predicted it was the place where the monster’s heart was.
Splatt!
Screeeeehhh!!!
Bang!!!
Hiro was thrown back while his sword managed to pierce the area he was aiming for. His body flew towards Noah and hit the man hard, causing them to collapse on the ground.
“Damn it, Nightfall. What the hell!”
Screehhh!
The spider monster reacted strangely. It stood on its two hind legs, while the other leg tried to guess the position of Hiro’s sword, trying to pull it out.
Its body continued to wriggle and stagger strangely, causing the other players to retreat backwards to save themselves.
The monster continued to hiss painfully. Its voice managed to force the players who were surrounding the monster, dropped their weapons and covered their ear holes.
Ding!
[Jorogumo is burnt from the holy attribute]
[Jorogumo is experiencing berserk status]
[Be careful. You may not have time to run!]
“What’s with that notification?”
All players got the same notification. Hiro swallowed hard. It looked like something big was about to happen.
Within seconds, the spider monster’s head suddenly melted on its own, sending the vampire blood-eater’s sword crashing to the floor below. Meanwhile, the melted of the head seemed to wriggle strangely, elongating then condensing slowly and then…
a slender body shaped like a beautiful woman, with long black hair and black eyes completely replaced the melted parts of the monster.
“Jorogumo.” Hiro muttered in disbelief at seeing the transformation of the monster.
“In ancient Japanese legend, Jorogumo is a female demon who has a spider-like appearance.”
“What are you talking about, Nightfall? Quickly do something!”
The spider monster stopped squirming. At the same time, the other players were already running towards it to attack again. But, not Hiro and Noah. They just stood at their place.
“What are you doing?” Hiro gripped Noah’s arm, who was ready to turn the pages of the Mystic Tome in search of a new magic attack.
“No… this is weird. It is not time yet.” Hiro was sure that the warning in the notification he had just received couldn’t be ignored. However, he didn’t have time to save the others who were out of his reach.
“Noah, can you pull my sword here? Use wind magic or whatever, hurry!” Hiro felt uneasy. He had a bad feeling. Noah did what Hiro asked quickly, using wind magic to fly the heavy object towards the two of them.
“Now what?” he asked.
“Run!”
“What?!”
Hiro quickly pulled Noah’s arm towards the tunnel the two of them had passed just before. Noah, who had weaker physical strength than Hiro, couldn’t refuse. He just ran following him.
“Are you crazy? Planning for an escape?”
At that moment, when both of them had entered back to the tunnel. Hiro stopped and checked the condition of those who stood near the spider. Noah looked very surprised. His eyes dilated and his body almost staggered to the ground.
The other thirteen players who didn’t run with Hiro and Noah had been wrapped in cobwebs from head to toe like mummies. They were being pulled up. It seemed the spider in the human form wanted to hang them up.
After it successfully hung the players above the ground, the long-haired woman’s head suddenly twisted towards the tunnel. Noah exchanged a glance with the monster for one second before Hiro pulled him to run further.
“We have to keep running!”
“Why didn’t you warn them?!”
“No time. Don’t worry. They’re not dead.”
“Yet.”
