169 A Notepad
Ding!
[You have obtained a notepad]
“You will need this later,” Yuujin said after handing a notebook to Hiro.
Hiro looked at the light notebook questioningly. He had been expecting something big as a gift from his brother. However, it seemed Yuujin had other plans.
“What is this?” He hoped to get a clue before Yuujin really left him once again.
“The thing that you always asked me to do.” Yuujin walked backwards away, the black dragon flew after him, then perched on his hand in a tilted position.
“My eyes are always on you, Hiro.”
“It is time for us to go, Alice.”
Zappp!
Yuujin came with lightning, and he also disappeared within the lightning. Hiro blinked his eyes because he felt like he was being burned by such a bright light. However, one last thing he heard from Yuujin’s mouth made him stare at Spyro, who had been perching on his shoulder for so long.
“He called the dragon Alice. Did you hear that?” Hiro really didn’t know if it was a coincidence or there was a good reason behind it. There was no way Yuujin would use a random name for his pet that accompanied him wherever he went. However, if it was just a coincidence, how could the coincidence be so accurate?
“Alice, tell me! What is your relationship with Yuujin?”
“Kwakkk!”
As if running away from his question, Alice stopped controlling Spyro, and the dragon had returned to normal mode.
“Damn you, Alice.”
Hiro looked around and found that the Everlasting members were still looking dumbfounded while staring at him. Their mouths were wide open. It seemed they were still confused about what had just happened at the guild base.
“Ehm… sorry for this mess. So, when are we going to start the party for the celebration?” Hiro felt awkward while speaking in a normal tone. For some reason, after doing a live confession, his old mood had returned to normal. Actually, he didn’t know if it was because of the live broadcast he had done or because of Yuujin’s sudden appearance.
“Party! Party! Party! They did mention our guild name, Everlasting!” Jacob lifted the full bottle of wine he had bought from Jack’s bar. He had always been Hiro’s saviour for unexpected moments like this.
“Yahoo!”
“Our leader is so cool!”
“Everlasting at its best!”
“We are the strongest!”
As if they didn’t want to worry about what had just happened, they busied themselves again to celebrate Hiro’s victory. The food that was still warm and ready to eat was already lined up on the table.
The first was to eat voraciously together. The second event was to drink alcohol, which was in stock because everything had been calculated by Jacob. He had planned to get everyone drunk that night.
The later the night, the louder the singing voices could be heard from Everlasting guild base. Some have even stood up and danced on the table with their clothes half exposed.
Hiro enjoyed all the free viewing of his win earnestly. Everything looked very normal in front of him. No one thought he was weird after what he did. Hiro was relieved by that.
As he was sitting alone on a wooden chair, Noah, Jacob, and Cara came up to him, bringing their chairs close to Hiro.
“You did it, Hiro.” Jacob spoke with his breath reeking of alcohol. He still could open his eyes, although they were only slightly open. His hands moved to embrace Hiro’s shoulders and pulled Hiro to him a little roughly. Hiro didn’t mind that at all, instead he held onto Jacob so the man wouldn’t fall from the chair.
“So you’re WynterRain’s little brother, huh? No wonder you look so much alike with him. Even too similar, like twins.” Noah tried to get Hiro to talk. Noah, who recently spent time with Jacob, also learned how to interact with the fellow players.
“Why, Noah? Are you confused about choosing between Hiro and his brother? If I were you, I’d choose Hiro. At least Hiro is cuter and he won’t make you scared of getting killed every time he comes.” Cara always brought up her BL topic about Noah.
“Shut up!” Noah rolled his eyes in annoyance. He took a deep breath, feeling tired of the same topic over and over again.
“He is my brother. One and only.” Hiro replied in a calm voice. His eyes were still glued to the people who were dancing and singing at the table like they were having a concert.
“So, what did he give you? I only saw it in the form of an ordinary notebook. Did he write a letter?” This time, Cara asked a serious question. Noah looked back at Hiro, wanting to hear the answer to Cara’s question because he was also curious.
Hiro took out a notepad from his inventory and fiddled with it in his hand. Noah and Cara had to tilt their seats so they could peek at what was in the notebook.
“Have you opened it?” Noah asked curiously. Secretly, WynterRain was his idol, especially in this game. WynterRain used an avatar with magic power like him. Noah became increasingly obsessed with him. He was curious about the man’s secret to become so powerful like that. Besides, the system didn’t detect him as a player. Because if he was detected, Hiro could not possibly be the first winner.
“Not yet. But I think I know what’s in it.”
From what his older brother had said before he disappeared without a trace again or told Hiro where he lived, only one thing made him instantly know what was written in the notebook.
“It’s a game walkthrough.” Hiro was very sure of the answer.
“What?!” Jacob, who had been silent because he was drunk, suddenly exclaimed. He had never heard of that term.
“Are you sure? Holy shit! How could he do that?” Noah covered his mouth with his palm. He reflexively shouted. Noah couldn’t believe Hiro’s answer before he saw the contents of the notebook with his own two eyes.
But, before Hiro opened the notebook together with the others to prove he wasn’t wrong, Jacob once again asked what the game walkthrough was. And Noah gave him an answer, although he wasn’t sure if Jacob could understand it or not because he was drunk right now.
“A game walkthrough is a guide to improve a player’s skill within a game and it is often made to assist players in completing either an entire game or specific events.”
“Really? Do you mean that it’s a cheat?” Cara lowered her voice for fear of being heard by others and disrupting the party.
“Kind of.”
Hiro opened the first page of the notebook and found the name of his sword there.

Everything was written in Yuujin’s handwriting that Hiro knew well. The real Yuujin really preferred to write on paper rather than type it. That was why when Hiro found the VR helmet as a gift, Hiro was a little suspicious because the sender used a print out.
And the notebook was indeed a walkthrough. As if Yuujin had decided to support other players who would become his brother’s permanent party, he also added a special page for Noah’s weapons.

Hiro remembered the first time he played a video game when he was 6 years old. He asked his brother to make a complete guide until he managed to complete all the quests and get a perfect final score in the game. Hiro’s request became a habit for Yuujin. The man always made a guide for Hiro. Besides, most of the Walkthroughs written by Yuujin were purchased by the gamer community from all over the world.
