Chapter 123 - [Terrorizing] [Hidden Desire]
Chapter 123 – [Terrorizing] [Hidden Desire]
[Leanna's POV]
[Terrorizing]
"You know . . . I know the world is unfair. I never expected it to be fair in the first place. You two have loving families while I don't. You have bigger breasts than me. It's okay. I can accept it.
"But what the hell is this?! You two practically hug the two most sought-after beings on earth! This is like! The height of unfairness! The helm of unfairness! I demand compensation for this injustice!
"You two should share them with me because that's what friends are for . . . blah . . . blah . . ."
Zoe rant on and on while her eyes never left Cain and Zhander's body. She was wiping her drool as she spoke while her face was in a daze.
We all were.
Estela and I ignored her rantings. Our brains were determined to block everything except our lovers.
I was drooling, love-struck and obsessed like other girls.
I didn't care.
I don't care at all!
I ogled at Cain. The sexy lines of his muscles which constrict at every movement he made. His hair that was swaying with the violent breeze. His frosty eyes that were deep and focus. His expressionless handsome face without a trace of worry nor fright that any moment, the massive waves would crash him whole.
My heart missed a beat whenever I thought the waves would smash him, but he always emerged unscathed, leaving breathless to those who saw.
He's soooo cool. 💗
A sense of overwhelming pride flooded me.
This is mine. All mine.
"Tehehehehe . . ." Estela and I giggled.
Our brain cells must be on the same wavelength.
Our morning was very productive as we sat there, holding our chin, ogling at Cain and Zhander, who was gliding against the waves while Estela flashed her camera nonstop.
The whole crowds gasped, and I held my breath when the two men went ashore, running their fingers through their wet hair while their other hand held their surfboard.
I swallowed hard when my naughty eyes followed the droplets of water down to Cain's shorts and lingered in the area between his thighs.
Another symphony of gasps when Estela got up and ran towards them, holding a towel. Everybody expected Estela would give the towel to her brother, but instead –– she went passed Cain and into Zhander's arms.
Estela tiptoed and personally, personally wiped Zhander's wet face.
The audience stared with wide eyes and gaping mouth.
*sigh . . . Estela sure is daring. I thought as envied crept my heart.
Like automatic, the crowd's eyes, especially the women, locked on Cain when they realized that Zhander –– was off-limits.
Damn!
Now I knew why Estela did that. It was to mark her territory in front of these people. I should have expected it since Estela didn't mention any plans to hide her relationship with Zhander. Unlike my stubborn self.
Panic rushed in my veins when I looked at Cain and saw his eyes were fixated on me like he was waiting for me to bring him a towel to wipe off his wet face like Estela did to Zhander.
I was paralyzed and helpless. I wanted to do it so badly, but my mind was in conflict with my heart, and my body froze, didn't know who to follow. As much as possible, I wanted to keep our relationship private, away from the public eyes.
I continued to hesitate while Cain stopped just meters away from me. His eyes have somewhat lost its luster as his expression didn't hide the hurt and rejection.
No!
Like a siren shocking my whole system, I grabbed his towel and sprinted into his arms, but Sophia beat me to it.
"Here." Sophia extended her hand, holding a towel to Cain. Her eyes shifted here and there as her expression was all bashful.
The cold man didn't even look at her. His frosty eyes were locked on mine. He avoided Sophia's hand and walked towards me.
I think my heart was beating in my throat, wanting to come out, blocking the air and my voice along with it as I looked at the approaching man.
Cain stopped inches from me, and without a word, he bent his body, and my eyes shut closed.
. . .
. . .
I opened my eyes when the kiss didn't land. I blinked many times at Cain, who was holding half the towel in my hand as he wiped the water off his face. His teasing eyes made me want to run towards the waves to drown myself to save me from this embarrassing situation.
I should have known he was just playing me!
Like my fingers touched something hot, I let go of his towel lighting fast and shifted my gaze.
Unable to remain standing on the hot seat and the scrutinizing gazes of the crowds, I stepped back as I stuttered, "I-I-I'll b-buy some f-food."
I stumbled on my feet as I made my way towards the food stalls, didn't notice little Pluffy stood on his four paws and dashed after me.

[Hidden Desire]
"What happened? Why did Cain ignored Sophia's towel and grabbed the one Leanna was holding? Are they . . . going out?"
"Impossible!"
"Yeah, no way that the Cain Fay would fall in love with a nobody! She's not even that pretty!"
"It must be because he prefers his towel. It so happens that she got a hold of it first."
"That bitch got lucky being friends with Estela Fay."
"Yeah, too bad about Zhander. But I did have a feeling he and Estela have gotten together. Why else would Zhander Jansen came together with them?"
"Then why is Cain Fay following that bitch?"
"Are you blind? It's because his dog is following her."
"Then why is his dog following her and sticking to her like she's the owner?"
". . ."
". . ."
"Maybe because the dog likes her smell. Because you know, she smells like earth, pigs and cows . . . and grass and all that."
All the woman's faces lit up as they nodded to themselves. They were willing to accept any reason, so their hearts remained hopeful. So they could remain dreaming a wonderful dream.
"Y-yeah! That must be it!"
"Since Estela is hard to please . . . another way to get close to Cain Fay is through his dog."
. . .
. . .
The atmosphere turned tense.
The women's eyes were like predators, turning sharp as they sized each other. The competition heated when they realized what they must do to get Cain Fay's attention.

"What are you doing?!"
Holley hissed as she grabbed Sophia's hand when the latter was about to dart off to Cain's direction.
"I don't know what you're talking about." Sophia acted all innocent.
"Don't pretend! Why are you flirting with Cain?!"
"Holley, I just gave the man a towel, which he obviously didn't accept."
"I know what you're doing! And you need to stop." Holley stared daggers at Sophia and tightened her grip on the girl's hand. "You know I like Cain."
. . .
. . .
Sophia's face turned serious. "Yes, but you're already engaged."
She then pulled her hand when Holley's grip loosened from being stunned.
"You're . . . betraying your friend?" Holley mumbled, too shock to register what was happening.
Sophia gripped Holley's shoulders and looked her in the eyes.
"Holley, I'm not betraying you. All I'm saying is . . . what if Cain Fay's the one who'll fall in love with me?"
Holley looked at Sophia for some time before she burst out laughing.
Sophia frowned and crossed her arms while putting her weight on one foot.
"Ahahahaha! Good luck with that!" Holley snorted. She then captured Sophia's eyes. Her voice thick with threat as she spoke, "If you flirt with Cain again . . . this will mark the end of our friendship."
"Holley . . ."
Sophia was conflicted. She was also one of the women who wanted to grab someone like Cain Fay, but she also didn't want to become enemies with the Goldwood's.
That was a wrong move on her part. She shouldn't have acted so rash and gave away her intentions when Holley was there –– present. But she couldn't control herself when she was bewitched at the sight of Cain Fay, half-naked, dripping in water. The man's charms was to much for her to handle
"Alright."
Sophia said with all seriousness, yet her brain was accumulating plans and schemes on how to seduce Cain without Holley knowing. Once she succeeded, she didn't have to fear the Goldwood's anymore because of the Fay's backing.
It was one of the reasons why she approached Holley in the first place since she knew Cain and Holley were engaged. By sticking to Holley, she had an opportunity for Cain to notice her. But she never thought it would be so hard since the elusive man rarely showed up, and if he did, he always had this menacing invincible barrier that repelled everyone from approaching him.
But now . . .
This is an opportunity.
The beach.
The bikinis.
The party.
Sophia's lips twitched into a wicked smile when Holley turned away and followed Cain.
