Chapter 17 - Dinner

Chapter 17 – Dinner

"I'm glad to see that the years I'm paying Eva Hart wasn't wasted," Uncle Luke said, grinning.

I sat opposite him, a smile never left my face. "Uncle Luke, when you told me where we would eat, I know I have to dress the part."

Before we arrived in New York, inside the jet, I was just wearing a long sleeve shirt paired with skinny trousers and rubber shoes. When he called about the dinner, I quickly took a bath and scrambled for a complete set of designer clothes by Eva Hart.

I was wearing a frost-colored off-shoulder long sleeve tight top, showing my collarbone, paired with a porcelain colored waist-high boot-cut trousers and powder colored slingback shoes.

I made sure that my outfit highlighted my height and curves. And guessing from Uncle Luke's reaction, I think I've done a good job.

My pastel lavender long hair was raised in a high ponytail, making sure that my neck appeared longer and slimmer. Overall, a pair of crystal clear hoops, which sparkled with every movement I made, and a daisy colored scarf, tie in a stack on my neck, complimented the whole look.

In choosing clothes. I love monotone and pastel colors, but there should be at least one outfit or jewelry that should stand out. For this event, I decided a multi-pastel colored silk wrap clutch bag to add a little spice to the whole appeal.

Uncle Luke and I chatted for a time when I noticed an extra pair of plate and utensils beside his. Before I could ask, from the corner of my eyes appeared a silhouette of a man. I briefly shot a look in that direction and was greeted by dark, violet eyes.

It was a feeling when you saw something breathtaking and out of the ordinary that you kept staring at it. Your brain short-circuited. Your mouth opened, and the surroundings became all sparkly.

That's what I'm feeling at the moment.

His whole body was a magnet, pulling my eyes to him until he sat beside Uncle Luke.

"Lea . . ."

". . . na"

"Leanna."

"Huh?" I flicked my gaze to where the voice came from, didn't hide the irritation showing on my face for disturbing my reverie.

"Did you hear what I've said?" Uncle Luke asked, tone teasing.

"No, I didn't," I cut him, hinting not to disturb me.

The Adonis sitting in front of me seemed to be irritated based on the knitting of his brows. Even so, he didn't withdraw his eyes from mine.

I memorized his face, taking in as much as I could.

Dark violet hair. Brown skin, which made him look even more masculine and sexy. Calm violet eyes with thick lashes, and proud nose. Thin nude color lips that were pressed in a tight line.

His whole person radiating arrogance and aloofness, like he was the King, and the rest was his servants.

We remained lock in each other's eyes, studying each other's faces in silence.

Uncle Luke didn't bother us as he delved himself into his wine.

After a long silence.

"Alright, I'm done memorizing his face," I said, my voice cleaving the stillness. I then shifted my attention to Uncle Luke. "I'm sorry, what were you trying to say again?"

Uncle Luke put down his glass of wine and leaned on his chair.

"My grandson, Zhander."
