Chapter 145 Damn You
The other pair of Kyran’s swords appeared in his right hand, and he instantaneously swung the blade on the man.
The man was shocked to see another sword appear on Kyran’s other hand and jumped back while crossing his blazing forearms to protect his body.
Kyran’s sword missed the man’s forearms by a centimeter.
Without a pause, Kyran swung his other sword horizontally at the man. However, the man’s blazing forearms erupted once more, and Kyran was forced to jump back.
As soon as he jumped back, he heard a whistling sound coming to his left and instinctively brought up his left hand to protect his face.
The moment his eyes moved to the left, he saw another black pike inches away from his face colliding with the blade of his sword.
‘So heavy!’ Kyran’s eyes grew wide as he felt the weight of the pike’s momentum.
Refocusing the Regis Body Tempering Technique on his arms, he barely deflected the pike away from his face.
The few seconds in which Kyran had to deal with the black pike was enough for the huge man with blazing forearms to launch another attack. Before landing on the ground, dark red magic arrays with three different sizes appeared on his right fist. He aimed his clenched right fist at Kyran, and the three different-sized dark red magic arrays converged vertically in front of his fist. Dense flame magic shot out from the center of the smallest-sized array and went straight at Kyran.
Kyran lifted his right hand, and while focusing the tempering technique on the sword on his hand, he rotated it vertically in front of him just in time to block the fire attack. The fire scattered everywhere, burning the ground and plants nearby.
“Your reaction is good!” The huge cloaked man commented as he landed on the ground.
But he was not done attacking. The moment he landed, he slammed his fists together, and suddenly the flames that had scattered on the ground danced and flew in the air. It turned into seven one-feet high fireballs and attacked Kyran in every seven different directions.
‘Tsk,’ Kyran gritted his teeth.
It was his first time to see an already wasted magic attack recombine once more to form another attack.
Kyran jumped to avoid the fireballs, but to his astonishment, the fireballs changed direction the moment he jumped.
‘This!’ He felt an incoming headache.
His swords disappeared as he returned them in his pouch, and he grabbed a tree branch above. As soon as he grabbed the branch with both his hands, he pushed his legs upward. Using the force from this action, he hoisted himself up the tree branch, landing on his two feet. All the while, two fireballs missed his feet and hit the bottom of the tree branch.
After Kyran landed on the branch, he did not wait for the remaining fireballs to close in on him. He had already jumped to another nearby tree branch.
However, as soon as he jumped, he saw another black pike whistle in his direction.
Then the huge cloaked man below also knelt and placed both his hands on the ground.
Kyran felt his scalp go numb as he saw two huge dark red magic arrays appear respectively above his head and below. To make matters worse, the black pike coming in front trembled and split into three. He also sensed the remaining fireballs closing in from different sides.
He was completely surrounded.
At the moment, he could not grasp where the huge cloaked man’s accomplice’s exact location was, so he could not launch a counterattack. The former’s fire mastery was more advanced than the dead fire mage he had met from the army before, making it difficult to deal with him alone.
At first, Kyran planned to use only the abilities that Nar was supposed to have since he was already using his face. However, given his predicament, he could no longer hesitate.
Kyran roused his Void magic, and combining it with the Regis technique; he summoned the Void Scales.
When the Void Scales expanded, the magic arrays above and below also glowed, and flames burst out from the center.
However, with the Void Scales ‘void’ property, the moment the flames collided with it, it disintegrated at once.
“What?” The huge cloaked man exclaimed in surprise.
Even the incoming fireballs disintegrated as soon as they came into contact with the scales.
“Are you f*cking kidding me?”
Another man’s voice cursed from afar.
Kyran frowned slightly after hearing that cursing voice. Before he could dwell on it, his eyes widened when he saw the black pikes in front explode just before it touched his Void Scales. The black pike turned into a black misty material and easily slipped inside the tiny gaps on his scales.
Because Kyran was too distracted at this development, he missed his step on the tree branch and slipped backward.
‘Crap!’
At the same time, the black misty material went straight at him and was about to envelop him.
Kyran immediately activated his Void Armor, but to his surprise, the misty material was not hindered by his armor and managed to wrap him, including his head completely.
Suddenly, he felt his magic disperse as he fell on the hard ground with a loud thud.
“Omphf!” Kyran winced in pain.
For some reason, this feeling of being bound and falling on the ground felt… familiar.𝑛𝑜𝗏𝓮𝐥𝑵𝔢xt.𝑐𝗈𝕞
“What the f*ck are you doing here?”
“What you know this guy?”
“Yeah, and as far as I know he was supposed to be in a f*cking coma.”
“&@#$%!” Kyran’s exclaimed inaudibly. (Nolan?)
Yes. This scene was very familiar because this feeling was the same when Nolan had bound him and dropped him after bringing him into his domain!
“Coma?”
A female voice suddenly spoke.
“So he is not part of those people following us?” She added.
“&@#$%! @&#^&%@%?” Kyran tried yet again to speak. (Nolan! Is that you?)
He tried to rouse his magic to break free. Unfortunately, his magic was being suppressed.
“Yeah he’s not. Argh! Damn it, why the f*ck are you here? And why in f*cking hell do you have Nar’s face?”
“@&#^&%! &^#&! @&#@%!” Kyran replied inaudibly. (It is you! Damn it! Free me!)
“You’re supposed to question him after releasing him!” The woman reprimanded.
“I prefer him like this.”
“&@#$%, &@#$*#@&*!” (Nolan, you bastard!)
“Why?”
“Er… so he’s safe? We’re not killing him?”
The one who spoke, Kyran presumed, was the huge cloaked man.
“Just free him! Or do you want me to deal with-.”
“Okay. Okay. Geez, you and your menopaus-!”
Kyran heard a loud, dull sound followed by Nolan’s agonized yell.
“Say that again and I’ll hit you!”
“Say that before you take action! You already hit me!”
“Ahem,” the other man cleared his throat. “Will he suffocate like this? You mummified him alive.”
“You both are over reacting, this guy will not die from this.”
Kyran finally felt the black misty material loosened.
As soon as his hands and feet were free, without waiting for his head to be uncovered, Kyran’s eyes glowed silver. He sprang on his feet and dashed toward the spot where he sensed Nolan. He clenched his right fist and arched his back to add more weight to his forearm. Then he stomped his left feet on the ground, preparing to hit Nolan on the face.
“Watch out!”
“Nolan!”
Nolan sneered, “Too naive, kid.”
Black spikes appeared on the ground piercing Kyran’s thighs before he could land a punch on Nolan’s face.
“Ergh!” Kyran just gritted his teeth and endured the pain.
Bam!
Nolan’s staggered to the side as Kyran’s left fist delivered a straight right at his jaw.
Kyran sneered, “Damn you.”
The black misty material finally loosened on Kyran’s face as he glared fiercely at Nolan. He also realized that they were no longer in the forest but inside a spacious gray place.
They were inside Nolan’s domain.
Nolan burst out laughing as he straightened his back and looked at Kyran.
“You’ve gotten sly, kid.” He said with a grin.
Suddenly Nolan’s expression turned serious as he lowered his body. He slid forward with his right foot while simultaneously twisting his body to the right and poised to deliver a blow at Kyran’s torso using his clenched right fist.
Kyran’s eyes narrowed, and he immediately crouched down, moving his arms to block Nolan’s fist. However, the moment he moved, the black spikes piercing his thighs retreated, sending a searing pain into his senses. Because of this, he was unable to put up his guard properly.
A thick black material condensed around Nolan’s fist, forming a solid black gauntlet.
Kyran’s silver eyes glowed, and before Nolan’s fist could land on him, he had already vanished and appeared a few meters away.
“Fast!”
“This movement is-!”
Both the huge cloaked man and the woman exclaimed, respectively.
All of these happened in a matter of seconds.
What happened next stumped Kyran.
“NOLAN!” The woman shouted, making Nolan’s domain tremble by the sudden rise of magic pressure coming from her.
Nolan’s complexion paled as he looked at the woman.
“Anette! What do you think you are doing?”
“That was a Regis’s movement, who is he?” The woman named Anette demanded.
“Regis?” The other man also asked in surprise.
“Ah, well, that is-.”
“Let’s just ask him directly,” the other man suggested and pointed at Kyran.
Both Nolan and Anette looked at him sharply, and he immediately shrugged.
“I’m just saying.”
Anette looked stern, but she did look at Kyran, who returned her scrutiny.
“That face-.”
“Not mine,” Kyran replied.
Then he remembered he did not have to answer nor reveal that his face was fake, right? Besides, he did not know this woman and the other man with Nolan. Who were they anyway? Why were they with Nolan? That lady also mentioned that they were being ‘followed’. Just what did Nolan get himself up to?
Nolan looked at Kyran and made crossing motions with his hands while shaking his head vigorously to tell him not to say anything.
Kyran, seeing Nolan’s warning, made him want to do the opposite.
“Not yours?” Anette asked in confusion.
Kyran touched his face.
Nolan glared at him fiercely, “Kid! Don’t you dare-!”
Kyran sneered and took off his mask.
