Legacy of the Dark Sage

Chapter 235 Training Result (1)

Kyran rested for five minutes and waited for his breathing to return to normal. After that, he sat cross-legged and began circulating his magic energy again. This time he did it with utmost caution to avoid stirring the Mark of Ruin, especially with his Draconic core getting sealed again.

Once he confirmed no signs of the mark getting triggered, he placed his right hand on the ground.

‘The mark appeared on my left arm because that man’s attack entered from there. If that is the case, I have to avoid channeling magic energy on my left for now,’ Kyran thought and heaved a sigh.

Suddenly deciding not to use his prominent arm was really troublesome. Even if he was ambidextrous, it felt as if he was missing a part of his body like this. He had to properly check the mark when he returned.

Kyran took a deep breath and finally started what he set out to do. He channeled his magic energy to his right arm and let it flow to his fingertips. The magic energy flowed out of his fingers into the ground and slowly spread out, filling the magic array.

The magic array lit up a few minutes later, which stirred the obelisk.

Technically, Kyran had to activate the obelisk first and let the magic energy it generated flow automatically into the magic array. However, he knew it would take some time to activate the obelisk, and the barrier protecting it might run out of magic energy before it had enough magic energy to channel into the magic array. When that happened, then the destruction of the land would catch up on its surrounding area. Thus, Kyran decided to replenish the magic array first before dealing with the obelisk.

After channeling enough magic energy in the magic array to sustain the barrier for hours, Kyran stood up and walked to the gray obelisk. He placed his right hand on its surface and began channeling magic energy into it.

Half an hour later, the gray obelisk started to pulsate.

Similar to what had happened in the black obelisk, a red glow appeared within the obelisk as gray mists seeped out and wrapped around Kyran’s right arm.

‘This…’

Even before Kyran could convert his magic energy into the type it could absorb, in this obelisk’s case, was fire magic. He already felt a suction force absorbing his magic energy.

Kyran was surprised but was able to recover almost immediately. His understanding of his Void magic had begun to grow from everything he had experienced in this ‘training.’

‘No wonder Void magic is considered an Ancient magic,’ Kyran thought, recalling Stella’s introduction about Ancient magic. About how the world was composted by Ancient magic.

Draconic, Time, Soul, and Void.

Time was ever-present in the world, as with the Soul. As for Draconic magic, Kyran had yet to understand it fully, but if he had to include Void magic with its description, they were opposite and equally important.

Where there is creation, there will always be destruction. And if there is destruction, new things can be created.

‘But if Void is used half-heartedly, it appears to be really powerful and destructive.’ Kyran thought with a wry smile.

Then he shook his head and closed his eyes, ‘No. I think in the past, the reason why Void magic is feared, was not its destructive form, but its ability to create things.’

Nolan’s image flashed through Kyran’s mind, and he suddenly opened his eyes. A slight frown appeared on his face, ‘Nolan’s element magic is also powerful to the point it can create things. Although it needed to combine Elements to create things, unlike the Void, it now makes sense why the Royal Family put a lot of attention on his capture.’

Kyran had a sudden conjecture, but he did not want to make any conclusion with little information. In any case, the Royal Family saw Nolan as a big threat. Whether the reason behind their hatred was true or just a front, Kyran wanted to look into it as well. His decision was not because of his relationship with Nolan. But because he felt there was another hidden conspiracy behind everything. He did not know if it was connected to his predecessor or an entirely different conspiracy, but whatever it was, Kyran would definitely unravel all of the Royal Family’s secrets.

While Kyran was having these idle thoughts, the gray obelisk before him began to change color. Unlike the standard reddish color of fire that Kyran was familiar with, the obelisk had a red-violet hue. The color change started from the bottom, slowly moving upward.

An hour later, the purple glow on the magic array on the ground grew. Seeing this, Kyran finally removed his hand on the obelisk. His work here was done; next, he had to check all the energy points of this obelisk if they were still intact.

It took Kyran another three hours to check the energy points of the fire obelisk. After confirming that none of them were damaged, he made his way to the next one, the earth obelisk.

True Void was the one responsible for reactivating the obelisk. And as Kyran neared, he found that its earlier gray color had now turned reddish-brown.

After confirming this, Kyran flew around to check its energy points. This time, it took him two and a half hours to check every energy point. Same with the fire obelisk, all of the earth obelisk’s energy points were still intact.

The next one Kyran went to was the metal obelisk. Since he had already activated the obelisk, what he did was confirm its energy point. After confirming that they were all alright, he flew to the next obelisk, the water obelisk.

The water obelisk was immediately seen by Kyran even from afarโ€”because its color reminded him of Tyr’s eyes, aquamarine.

With a wry smile, Kyran flew around it to confirm all its energy points. When he was sure of their good condition, he went straight to the last obelisk.

On his way to the last obelisk, Kyran could not help but feel amazed at how fast True Void had worked. Not only did he nourish the magic energy on the two obelisks, but he also provided some to its magic array to ensure it would maintain the barrier without taking any energy from the obelisk.

‘I just hope his magic energy will last until we complete everything,’ Kyran thought. Thinking how much magic energy he had left to restore the whole plane.

Just imagining how much magic energy he would need to accomplish it was giving him a headache.

It took Kyran almost half a day before he finally saw the last obelisk.

‘Well, it seems True Void has already started,’ Kyran thought with a slight smile seeing that the last obelisk no longer had a gray color but green.

[Of course! I can’t just wait for you to arrive. Besides, you went out to check all the energy points, and if I waited for you, then we’ll be pressed for time to restore the whole plane.]

Kyran’s brow twitched after hearing True Void’s reply on his head. He did not realize that his thoughts would be invaded as soon as he was close to him.

No. True Void could not have read his thoughts while he was outside his sea of consciousness, right?

[Bahahaha! True. True. But right now, I am already channeling my magic energy into your body. So you can say we are now connected in mind and body.]

True Void explained.

Kyran sighed and replied, [Even if that is the case, you should stop reading my thoughts.]

[Bahahaha! Why? Are you afraid I’ll read anything lewd?]

Kyran raised his brows at True Void’s choice of words. Before he could comment on it, True Void continued.

[Don’t worry. I can only hear your thoughts. I can’t see any image. If you imagine any lewd things, I won’t see it.]

Kyran decided to block him out of his mind. This spirit kept on spouting shameless things. He suddenly feared True Void and Nolan’s meeting.

He made a mental note to keep Zephyr away from the two, as to make sure they did not corrupt his innocent mind. Zephyr already had a strange notion that he had two mistresses because of Nolan. If True Void’s insistence of Kyran having a child was added in the mix, who knew how Zephyr interpret it?

As for Byron, Kyran had no intention of letting True Void or Nolan meet him.

Kyran entered the tree obelisk’s area and instantly felt how richer the magic energy inside was. He immediately understood that the reason for this was that the other four obelisks were now active.

As he flew closer to the green obelisk, he found True Void with two of its puppets still channeling magic energy into it.๐‘ต๐‘ถ๐’ฑ๐‘’๐—…๐’ฉ๐“ฎxt.๐‘๐‘ถ๐‘š

“All the energy points are intact,” Kyran told True Void.

True Void, which was in a form of a small version of the Void Armor, turned to look at him.

[Oi! Oi! You blocked me out! Why?]

Kyran chuckled at his greeting. Instead of answering him, he said, “How much time you need?”

[Give me five minutes. After that, you can have the rest of my magic energy to start restoring the plane.]
