Chapter 304 Disciple Tyr's Work (2)
To obscure one’s presence was slightly different from hiding it. Obscuring one’s presence meant, that person’s presence could still be seen but there would be a change from their original presence while hiding it meant, hiding one’s presence completely.
What this magic item could do was different from the stone Kyran gave Anette.
That stone could camouflage one’s aura, making one’s aura adapt to that plane’s standard aura.
“I realized from the previous blueprint of the tower’s defensive array that Master Noir included an advanced concealment formula that targetted your magic signature. It gave me an idea that as long as you are inside the Tower, the Royal Family will not be able to monitor your activity.𝑛𝔬𝗏𝐄𝓵𝓝𝖊xt.𝓬𝑜𝗆
“However, they are still aware that you are inside, meaning the Royal Family has a way of tracking you down apart from your magic signature. Once you step outside the Tower of Conclave, it will be easy for them to monitor you.
“Hiding your presence will be meaningless. As long as there are magic detectors in cities and towns, it will be impossible for you to hide.
“But when you wear those earings, when you leave the premises of the tower, even if the Royal Family detects your presence, they cannot connect you to your magic signature or whatever it is they have on you. Because that earings can obscure your presence, completely changing your magic signature as well as your whole presence.”
As Stella had expected, these diamond studs would let her leave the Tower if she wanted to!
However, such a magic item was very rare. There were concealing spells and arrays but it was hard to integrate them properly into a magic item because the material they required were not compatible with physical items. Most magic items that had it were part of the base material and were considered rare artifacts.
With trembling hands, Stella took one of the diamond studs and used her magic sense to inspect it. Immediately, she noticed that most of the materials used in creating the earrings were foreign to her. That immediately got her feeling even more excited and nervous at the same time.
“Where did you…?”
Stella started as she looked at Kyran in confusion.
As she did, his only response was a slight smile.
Seeing Kyran had no plans on telling her, Stella nodded in acknowledgement and did not pursue the subject.
Stella was not entirely clueless. As far as she knew, Kyran went somewhere to train for a week and it was likely he got the item from there.
Nevertheless, her curiosity regarding that place grew.
From the sudden improvement in Kyran’s Array and probably magic and physical combat too, not to mention how far he could read a situation even with little clues had already astonished her and even the Conclave council members.
That place was definitely not ordinary if a person could improve in such a short span of time.
Of course, Stella was aware that Kyran was like a sponge with super absorption capability when it came to learning. Normal people might take more time to learn, but that did not lessen how extraordinary that place was. Because the Array knowledge Kyran obtained was something even Noir and Sigma admitted were foreign to them.
“The earrings are not without flaw, though. It needed a lot of magic energy. If a normal mage used it, given their magic energy reserves, it will be drained in an hour. But with you it should be effective for a day or two… maybe even more if you have magic energy replenishing pills or potions.”
“What about you?” Stella suddenly asked, looking at him in concern. This magic item could also be useful for Kyran. He might have a way to control the new magic detectors of the Royal Army, but he could not possibly take control of every one of them. The Royal Army would definitely find out and would soon alert the Royal Family.
Kyran gave her a wry smile.
“What about me? I have Void magic, I am immune to any form of identity scans or magic.”
Stella was surprised. It was her first time hearing a definite advantage of Void magic. It was only then that she realized that Kyran could enter other towns with magic detectors without alerting the Royal Army.
‘Well not exactly. As long as he doesn’t use his magic, the magic detectors will not be able to detect his presence.’
She then thought of how Kyran was able to use camouflage his magic in front of the army officers last night, as well as changed the purple ring’s appearance.
Rhys was a Brigadier General, he definitely had a mini-magic detector with him. When he fought Kyran, why did the magic detector not react when the latter had used his magic?
This had been in their minds since last night. But Kyran took off soon after and they could not get an answer from him.
“Kyran, about how you are able to use your magic in front of the army officers,” Stella started.
However, Kyran already lifted his hand to stop her even before she could continue.
“I can’t tell you that,” he said with an apologetic expression. “Just know that I have ways to get pass their scrutiny.”
Stella saw Kyran’s firm stance about the subject and decided not to pursue it. The man before her was no longer the same one she had only met a few weeks ago. She had to learn to stop worrying unnecessarily.
“I trust you.”
Kyran smiled slightly and nodded. Then he stood up and was about to leave when Stella reached out and grabbed his hand.
“Wait, Kyran.”
Kyran stopped and looked at her.
As Stella sat up, she looked at him meaningfully and said, “There is something you should know about the Crown Princess.”
Without waiting for Kyran to say anything, she continued, “The Crown Princess went to the Winfrey Ancestral Lands a few days ago…”
Stella proceeded to explain why the Crown Princess’s went there and what it entailed when she successfully left.
She also told Kyran that it was the Queen of the Faes who told them about it, although she said this begrudgingly. As if talking about the Queen of the Faes had put her off.
If Nolan had been there, he would have commented how Stella looked like an annoyed wife, refusing to talk about her husband’s mistress.
Kyran’s interest was instantly piqued when he heard of the Queen of the Faes. He was actually interested in knowing the story of the Spirits because, according to another off-handed remark from True Void, his predecessor had saved them.
Unfortunately, Stella was reluctant to talk about the Queen of the Faes when Kyran asked how he could reach her.
Noticing how Stella’s complexion had gotten pale, Kyran guessed her fever might be taking a toll on her and decided to find another way to reach the Queen of the Faes.
Anyway, he could ask Silas when they meet.
Speaking of Silas, Kyran inadvertedly thought of Lumi and recalled she was supposed to be staying with Stella but he had not seen her nor felt her presence. Not that it mattered right now.
After making sure that Stella returned to her quarters to get proper rest, Kyran also left.
He appeared at an empty back alley which he discovered yesterday, and after donning Tyr’s disguise, he went to the Blacksmith Order.
What Kyran declared in the Blacksmith Order yesterday had already spread to almost all well-known families and factions in the east. All of them had already sent representatives to order more magic items and currently the order’s front office were having a hard time entertaining all of them.
The number of requests were simply too much and there were more coming.
Upon Kyran’s arrival the whole Blacksmith Order was sent in an uproar. Members of the front office and outsiders alike all flocked around him that it took him quite some time to enter the establishment.
As soon as he entered the workroom area, he was greeted by the blacksmiths and array specialists asking for direction.
With one brow twitching at the expectant looks on their faces, Kyran could only direct them to send all the request to his work station to have a look at everything. Then he told them not to disturb him.
For the next few hours, Kyran busied himself in sorting all the requests according to their complexity. He could not help but cursed inwardly at how shameless specifications of most of the free magic items the customers from yesterday had asked. They were practically robbing the Blacksmith Order!
No, wait.
Kyran had told Noir and Sigma he would shoulder all the expenses!
Heart heavy, Kyran felt all of the materials he had painstalkingly saved up in the tower would probably end up being robbed off by these shameless people.
Kyran gritted his teeth and only comfortingly reminded himself that all of these were part of his plan. Besides, once word spread out that his magic items were top-notch, all of the leaders of these shameless people would definitely request for more magic items.
When that happened, Kyran swore to charge them a fortune!
Apart from this, he was expecting to earn a good sum once the blueprint of the anti-magic detector was auctioned off.
With this in mind, Kyran busied himself with his work.
A few days later, all of the members of the order were in awe at Kyran’s diligence.
They had never seen him left his workroom and even when some members had come over to send him some food, he had his human-shaped puppet take it inside.
They soon realized that Disciple Tyr was a man of his words and was a very hardworking person.
They also notied that they had never once heard any explosions inside the workroom, meaning all of his work was going smoothly.
None of them thought that Kyran was slacking. After all, when the blacksmiths and array specialists downstairs arrived, they could hear tinkering and metal scraping inside his workroom. And when they left for the day, these same sounds could still be heard.
It even came to a point that they were worried Kyran might be overexerting himself.
Unfortunately, none of them had the courage to come up. After what they had witnessed on his first day when someone ‘disturbed’ him, they had all swore to follow his orders.
Noir and Sigma had also come to the order to deal with the new requests that came in that Kyran had not taken. Initially they wanted to talk to him and see how they could help. However, when they heard how busy Kyran was they did not disturb him.
Every now and then, Kyran’s human-shaped puppet would come out and deliver a few magic items. When they did and Noir or Sigma inspected the quality of the magic items, they were thunderstricken.
They even wondered if it was worth giving out such high quality magic items for free.
In the end, they could only release the magic items, because they knew Kyran had a reason for doing all this.
Everyone was simply in awe of Discple Tyr’s work as well as his hardwork.
It was too bad that while they were all feeling in awe at him, Kyran had actually left the Blacksmith Order for some time. All of the magic items he had promised to make as well as the ones he had taken, had been completed a couple of days ago.
The noises everyone could hear inside his workroom, were made by his two puppets who were practicing their motor skills by crafting average magic items.
As for where Kyran went to, he had already warped to the Shaiha Ruins.
