Chapter 480 Rampage (4)

Kyran watched Manti rip the officers one after another. From his location, there was still a good distance from where Manti was rampaging. But even without activating his Draconic magic, he could easily see what was happening.
A whimpering and hissing sounds came from within the rift, and Kyran could not help but sigh.
These sounds came from the Chimera and the two Mutated Basilisks. It seemed they could not wait to get out as well. Unfortunately, there were too few enemies. While letting them out and going on a rampage would attract more attention, Kyran still wanted to avoid implicating innocent people.
At present, the city guards are still evacuating the people in the residential district.
‘More prey will eventually come,’ Kyran assured the three inside the rift. Just as he said this, he sensed a group possessing a far more powerful presence approaching from the rear.
‘Speak of the devils.’
Kyran smiled as he turned to look at the rear. The pupils of his eyes turned to slit, and a silver tinge surrounded his reddish-purple eyes.
Apparently, even if Kyran activated the Draconic magic to enhance his physical abilities further, as long as the Void magic energy was circulating freely within his body, the reddish-purple would dominate the color of his eyes.
Not that Kyran cared. Whether the enemies discovered he possessed Void and Draconic magic was unimportant to him, and it would even be better. That way, they would fear him more.
To install fear in others did not seem bad. This sudden realization made Kyran understand why some rulers tried to rule with an iron fist. Nevertheless, such a person would never have a good ending.
Kyran inwardly mocked himself. Even without trying, as long as others knew he possessed Void magic, they would immediately fear him. Something that the Soul Emperor would love to see because she could use that fear to start the flames of war and amass her army.
Too bad she would not be able to do so at the Soul Emperor’s current state. As long as she stayed incomplete, she would not be able to control the souls of the fallen. For this reason, Kyran was not afraid of slaughtering several Royal Army officers.
“Bas, go.”
HIIISSS!
The bigger basilisk hissed in excitement and slithered out of the rift. He slid down the tall building and immediately went to greet the approaching group.
For the record, before the second group of city guards arrived earlier, Kyran decided to name his beasts since he did not want to keep calling them ‘you.’ But because he did not have the leisure to come up with a cool-sounding name, he decided to use their ‘kind’ as the basis; Manti for the manticore, Mera for chimera, Bas for the male basilisk, and Iss for the female.
Yes. Kyran was really bad at naming. He even named his adopted sister after him, Kyra, because, in his opinion, it was easier to remember. As for his puppets, their initial codes were TP-1, TP-2, and so on, thus the naming One, Two, Three, etc. The T was short for Trial, and P for Puppet. To Kyran, those five-and-a-half complete puppets were only his trial puppets, so giving them names was not really necessary. Even Len, Aki, and Neo were temporary names that Malek provided.
Putting the matter of names aside, Kyran looked at Bas.
The mutated basilisk looked nothing like the one he had met in the Valley of Morte. His scales were no longer dark green with gold and red tint but were dark purple and red.
Come to think of it, the manticore’s fur had also changed. From golden brown, his furs were now covered in dark purple and gold. This had not been the case when Kyran turned it into his Sigil, and it was only after he let him into the rift…
Kyran looked at the rift. He never gave much thought about this rift, but now, this might not be a simple rift he conjured to appear at one point to another. Now that he looked at it, when he tried to absorb attacks, and even when he absorbed the two mutated basilisks, it looked the same as the rift.
Kyran shook his head at once. He could not afford to get sidetracked. The mystery about the rift would have to wait until after he took care of everything. He knew his decision to come out in the open was only the beginning, and whether he could save his clan after this depended on how the other side responded. So far, the other side had not let him down because the group approaching now was Deception’s army.
Their number did not exceed a hundred. However, they were all Grand Master level, and the aura they emitted was different.
Because of the differences in the magic laws of each plane, if other mages from another plane go to another, their magic usage would be restricted. However, as Anette had said, the Human plane was special and could adapt to any magic law.
That had been the case when Kyran fought with Savagery. The latter was able to summon her beasts and magic as she did in the Beast Plane. On the other hand, when Kyran entered a different plane, he had to adjust how he used his magic according to the law of that plane. If not, he would not be able to use his magic properly. It was actually a good thing that after entering the Lignum Plane, his next training focused on magic knowledge, which made it easier for him to understand the different magic laws of other planes and adjust accordingly.
With a sigh, Kyran stood up while keeping a close eye on Bas. Since the Human plane would not restrict the magic usage of Deception’s army, their magic would definitely be more powerful than the average human mage Grand Master. They were from the Myedeo Plane, after all.
But similar to the empire, most of the mages in Myedeo had fire affinity. The only ones who were different were the Solum Tribe Anette belonged to, which had earth affinity.
In any case, Kyran did not want to lose any of his beasts. He only had four, so if Bas were overwhelmed, he would step in at once.
Just as he was thinking this, Bas had already shortened the distance between him and Deception’s army by fifty meters.
HIIIISSS!
Without wasting a moment, Bas hissed and launched a preemptive attack. His reddish-purple eyes glowed as he opened his mouth to hiss. He released an almost visible shockwave from its mouth, reducing everything it touched into pieces.
Deception’s army immediately summoned their barriers. However, either they were too late, or their barrier was too weak; the first thirty or less in the front disintegrated at once.
Kyran raised his brows in surprise. He had experienced Bas’s shockwave attack before, and it was something he did not want to repeat. That was the first time he witnessed his Void Scales close to breaking; truth be told, it had been a close call.
Still, Kyran was surprised at how powerful Bas’s shockwave attack had gotten. It seemed he did not have to worry about the latter getting overwhelmed.
The seventy or so members of Deception’s army scattered at once. Their action was not done in a panic but as part of a strategy. Though they were shocked by the beast’s surprise attack and lost a third of their members, that did not lower their morale nor scare them. All of them were trained soldiers of the Sovereign of Deception.
At once, the remaining members formed into small groups of five or six and bombarded Bas in different directions. Fireballs, flaming arrows, and flaming swords rained down on him. Flaming chains were also hidden amidst these attacks to bind his mouth. They did not want him unleashing another one of his shockwaves.
HIIISS!
However, Bas only hissed at the incoming attacks, and a translucent purple barrier covered him.
SIZZLE!
All attacks, no matter how powerful, disintegrated.
Kyran gave a faint smile. It seemed Bas now possessed Void magic as well. Or maybe, he could tap into it since they were connected? Or could it be the nature of Bas’s magic had changed to Void?
Kyran pushed these questions aside and turned his attention to Manti.
More army officers had arrived, and the latter happily pounced or breathed poisonous purple-colored flames at them.
Seeing the purple-colored flames made Kyran wonder if he had inadvertently changed the nature of their magic to Void.
Not that it mattered at the moment.
While Kyran was waiting for more reinforcements, back in the Courtenay Land, Stella, with the rest of the Conclave council members and the other leaders from Courtenay and Montgomeray Families, were gathered in Noir’s quarters.
The Conclave council members were looking at the others cautiously, even though they had already confirmed each other’s identities a few minutes ago.
Going back a few minutes before the explosion. After Kyran left, True Void asked Mannick to go to Stella.
At first, Mannick did not want to. Because of the situation’s urgency, True Void told him what happened in one of the planes he and Kyran went to train. Though it was only a brief recollection, Mannick did not need convincing and finally agreed.
When Mannick appeared before the Conclave, Malek’s initial reaction was to hide Stella. However, when True Void appeared and flew straight to Stella, saying the diamond studs she was wearing were a prize Kyran had won, she stopped them.
Stella’s intuition also made her sense that something was wrong, and she had Noir call Neo.
When Neo arrived, Mannick reinforced Noir’s array as Stella summoned her Time magic. For some reason, she felt that what True Void had to tell them would take some time, but they could not afford to waste even a second in real-time.
Stella’s intuition was on point.
True Void first told them who he was but did not tell them Mannick’s real identity, except that he was loyal to Kyran. After this, he told them the situation.
After hearing the situation, Stella asked Neo to change into Tyr. Neo did not need telling, though. Even before True Void finished his explanation, Neo started changing its program into Tyr’s.
Then True Void advised Stella to contact Patriarch Ezra and Patriarch Ernst.
When they heard Ernst, they wondered if they had misheard True Void. However, True Void affirmed that the Courtenay Family was now under Kyran’s control.
The truth, Kyran also planned to get the Lumley Family during the Field Operation. It was for this reason he pretended to be feeling under the weather. To get them to make a move. Alas, it seemed that would not happen now.
In any case, True Void told Stella they had to make a move. If not, Kyran might end up exhausting himself to death. Of course, that was not until he reduced the whole empire to ruins.
Malek and the other council members were still skeptical. They had seen what Kyran could do, but they did not think he alone could ruin the empire.
True Void did not want to waste his precious breath to explain more to them, so he only looked at Stella and spoke to her telepathically, ‘He trained in the Tower of Tribulation.’
As soon as Stella heard this, her eyes widened for an instant. But she recovered at once and finally ordered the Conclave to listen and prepare.
Since the Lord of the Tower had given her order, as members of the Conclave High Council, they all abided without exception.
Thus, they agreed to meet in person after sending a message to the Patriarch of the Courtenay and the Montgomeray Families.
Showing their faces and ‘Tyr’s’ in front of the others was to give them and Kyran an alibi. After that, they all gathered to discuss their course of action finally.
