Chapter 599 Rise (1)
RAWRGH!
The sea serpent roared as if in pain.
It was likely due to the fact that the water spikes that pierced its body were hard as diamonds.
The Boyd family members who saw the scene unfold rejoiced at once. They were worried that the villa’s defensive array would not hold if the two sea serpents continued to go on a rampage. But with the bluish-white sea serpent returning to Osric’s side, and the bluish-green sea serpent defeated by the latter, then they had nothing to worry about. Regarding the other intruders, as long as they restored the villa’s defensive array it would only be a matter of time before they captured and killed them. When that happened, they only had to detain Disciple Tyr then everything would once again be under their control.
Crack! Crack!
However, before they could savor the joy of seeing the troublesome bluish-green sea serpent getting pierced by the diamond-like water spikes, its body suddenly melted as it turned into water.
They were all shocked at what they witnessed because the sea serpent turning into a body of water was similar to the Boyd Ancestor’s escape ability. As far as they knew, such ability could only be achieved after one attained a very high realm in understanding their innate magic.
Osric also attained the ability after waking up from his deep slumber.
Could the sea serpent have a similar experience with Osric and attained a very deep realm in Water magic?
They were not given the chance to ponder this question because as soon as the sea serpent turned into water, a powerful surge of water spread on the ground, turning everything it passed into ruins.
The Boyd family members nearby fled in a hurry. Some who failed to do so were swept away by the wave, their condition unknown.
One would expect that Osric would try to save the Boyd family members. However, he ignored their cries for help and even prepared a large-area magic attack.
The water spikes that pierced the bluish-green sea serpent exploded and turned into diamond dust that mixed with the surging water. Osric waved his staff and the diamond dust shimmered, instantly forcing the surging water to a standstill.
RAWRGH!
An almost unearthly cry reverberated in the air that came from within the water.
Osric waved his staff and the water surged upward in several pillar-like forms. Upon reaching a certain height, they converged at the top. From afar, one could see that the water had taken a huge cage-like form.
RAWRGH!
The bluish-green sea serpent that turned into water and was now trapped by the diamond dust let out another sonar attack. However, the diamond dust managed to withstand the attack and only shook slightly.
“You brazenly took my weapon’s experience and vitality. I will have you return them with interest!” Osric growled and his eyes flashed in silent anger.
The movement at which the water converged at the top increased and the bluish-green sea serpent’s anguish cry continued to echo within the water.
At the core where all the water pillars converged, a diamond orb was slowly forming. This orb was the diamond dust that spread throughout the water. They were now merging with one another after absorbing the sea serpent’s vitality.
More and more diamond orbs appeared at the core of the water pillars every second.
After almost a minute, Osric took out his other staff using his left hand. He raised the staff toward the direction of the diamond orbs. One by one, the orbs flew toward Osric and entered the staff. As it did, the staff on his hand lit up, seemingly feeling invigorated after absorbing the orbs.
These orbs that were now filled with the sea serpent’s vitality were akin to a magic replenishing and stamina potion that restored the weakened sentient of Osric’s main magic weapon.
By this time, the bluish-green sea serpent went silent. It was as if what was absorbed from it was not only its vitality but also its ability to resist.
A small smile tugged at the corner of Osric’s lips. However, his elation was short-lived as a voice spoke from above.
“Don’t just forget about me,” Tritus said as soon as he arrived.
Osric’s face distorted in annoyance as he looked up. He was just about to unleash a powerful magic attack using the diamond staff but the moment his eyes landed on Tritus, his eyes almost popped out of their sockets from what he saw.
When Tritus had spoken he never really stopped. He only said his piece and flew past Osric, flying straight to the core of the merging water pillars.
Tritus’s tone just now sounded as if he was raring to have a go at Osric, but then he actually ignored him!𝐧𝓞𝐕𝔢𝓵𝒩𝔢xt.𝗰𝑂𝚖
As soon as Tritus arrived around a hundred meters away from the core of the water pillars, he made an abrupt stop and arched his body. He pulled back his right hand that was holding the golden trident and aimed at it before throwing the trident like a javelin.
Whoosh!
The trident flew toward the core at an alarming speed. It should be noted that Tritus’s trident was made of pure gold and it weighed more than 100 kg. While it was ideal to throw heavier objects was better because it improves one’s muscle power, a normal person would not be able to throw such a heavy item much less carry it. The only reason Tritus was able to do such a feat was due to his armor, and the improvement in his physical body after becoming a Sigil.
Osric immediately understood what Tritus wanted to do. He waved the diamond staff, summoning a water stream while simultaneously going after the latter.
The water stream flew out of the diamond staff’s tip and as it gained momentum, it changed into a ten-meter-long white translucent dolphin. Its body slowly turned into a diamond the further it went, leaving trails of diamond dust in its wake.
Even without looking, Tritus sensed the appearance of Osric’s diamond staff’s sentient through his magic sense. As he expected, the latter indeed birthed a sentient to his spare weapon. Apart from this, the aura it emitted was no less the bluish-white sea serpent.
Water mages were already rare enough. To have a water-type magic weapon birth a sentient was even more precious. But Osric actually managed to do it twice and both have two unique abilities. Apart from this, this dolphin-looking sentient seemed to have the ability to turn anything it touched into a diamond and restrain its movement– as it did to the bluish-green sea serpent. It even ignored the level and power advantage of the latter and beautifully restrained it.
Tritus could not help but feel goosebumps up his arms. However, he was not afraid but excited.
The more Osric showed his hidden cards, the more motivated Tritus become to win.
As for the trident’s sentient, if there was one-word Tritus would describe its temper it was headstrong. The more it was restrained and appeared to be at a disadvantage, the more it would retaliate and rise up to the challenge. When that happens, he would not be able to keep up with it.
Which was why he decided to release the trident and let it do as it pleases!
By this time, the trident was only five meters away from the core with the diamond dolphin right on its tail.
Just when the dolphin’s beak touched the trident’s tip, something inside the water pillars caused them to ripple violently.
It was obviously the sea serpent who had gone silent right after Tritus had arrived.
Because of the ripples, the cage-like form of these pillars distorted and the forming diamond orbs at the core stopped.
Sensing something was amiss, the dolphin let out a cry and opened its beak– instantly attracting the diamond orbs and flew toward its opened mouth.
Meanwhile, Osric already arrived behind Tritus and waved his crystal staff.
A mage with no magic weapon would always be at a disadvantage against a mage with one. And if the mage possessing the magic weapon also had the advantage in mage level, then the former only had one outcome– death.
With no magic weapon in hand, not to mention, a level disadvantage anyone would think Tritus was done for.
Alas, with his face covered by his armor’s headgear, no one could see the smile of anticipation on Tritus’s face.
Several small sea serpents rushed out of Osric’s crystal staff and coiled around Tritus.
“Die,” Osric muttered, his whole body emitting massive killing intent.
The sea serpents opened their mouths and were about to bite Tritus to death when he said, “I don’t think so.”
CRACKLE!
A flash of lightning suddenly struck from above. It fell directly on Tritus but was unharmed by it because his full body armor was made of Auron– a higher version of gold. Since gold was a good conductor of electricity, the electrical discharge from the lightning only went passed it.
