Legacy of the Dark Sage

Chapter 792 Knights

“Where is Sisi now?” Nahir asked.

“The Lady Saint is in the infirmary. Before Nar left, he asked a few fighters on duty to escort her inside.”

“Did you see the direction where Nar went?”

“I’m sorry, Lord Nahir. He jumped down the wall and disappeared.”

“Never mind then. Return to your post and report to me once he is back.”

“Yes.”

The messenger stood up and went back to the array. He activated his own token and left.

The Abbot appeared after the messenger left. He looked at Nahir and said, “Nahir, you…”

Nahir closed his eyes, refusing to look at his father. He said, “I don’t care what he said about Sisi. Right now, I am her fiancé.”

“Do you intend to ignore her will?”

“Of course not. She agreed to be my fiancée. Unless she wishes it, I will not rescind it.”

The Abbot sighed in his heart. Nahir got his stubbornness from him, so he knew reasoning with him was pointless. Ultimately, he resolved to talk to Kyran. Maybe he had a way of convincing his son, just like how he managed to make him acknowledge him.

“I’m going to check on the others,” Nahir told his father and stood up. “I’m sorry, but you can only stay here, Father.”

“That is fine,” the Abbot replied. “I have this token and hide if others come here.”

“I’ll bring something to eat. You haven’t had your dinner, I presume?”

The Abbot smiled, “It is fine. Nar may not appear like it, but he is mindful of what I needed inside his storage space.”

Nahir regarded him solemnly and said, “Nar… can use lost technology.”

It was not a question but an affirmation, and the Abbot nodded in agreement.

“He knows many things which seemed impossible given his age. I suppose he is a very rare, highly gifted individual.”

Nahir looked away and remembered how proficient Kyran was in Apothecary as well. He hated to admit it, but his father was right.

“Moreover, he is the successor of that Dark Sage,” he added grimly.

They were shocked beyond belief when they learned Kyran was the Dark Sage’s successor.

The Dark Sage’s fame had spread throughout the Lower Realm except for the Human plane, which had been disconnected to the outside for its special circumstance of being a remnant piece of the Land of the Ancients.

In Somuli, they did not fully know who was the Dark Sage or what he had done. But those who attained enough level to hear news outside their plane heard his name. A few even wrote anecdotes about him that were passed down to future generations.

The Abbot and Nahir would not have known about the Dark Sage if not for those anecdotes.

In any case, they did not know how much of the things written in those anecdotes were true. But they were sure of one thing: the Dark Sage was a powerful mage of the past that terrorized the Lower Realm.

And currently, Kyran was that mage’s successor.

“I’ll come back after making my rounds,” Nahir left on that note.

The Abbot sighed as he sat on the high chair. He looked to his left, activated the projector that showed the border, and observed in silence.

Something big was about to happen. He had that inkling ever since Kyran decided to reveal the truth.

“It is at this time that I wished I could see the future and not the past,” he muttered.

After Kyran left, the Eidums on duty increased their vigilance. They saw Kyran’s expression before he jumped down the wall and knew something happened.

ραndαsnοvεl.cοm They just hoped Kyran would be fine going out alone.

Meanwhile, the subject of their concern was already halfway inside the Armakea’s border.

Kyran did not enter the HQ per se but went around and searched for an unguarded part of the chasm. After entering the Armakea border, he followed the direction Gael gave him.I think you should take a look at

In any case, Gael left one of his shadow minions near the camp of the Prince of Armakea.

Kyran checked his items and sighed in his heart. Because of the thin magic energy in the surroundings, he could not replenish his magic energy that well. Thus, he could only rely on potions or pills to replenish his magic energy. Except, his stock was running low.

This was because he gave most of his items to the Eidums. His reason was simple. Using Draconic magic did not consume much of his magic energy. After all, it mostly enhanced his body and senses. Unless he molded his Draconic magic into a magic attack, he would not have any problem conserving his energy.

The problem was his Void magic.

Using the Void World did not consume magic energy. As a matter of fact, that world was filled with Void magic energy, and anyone who did not possess a magic core or similar to a magic core would be poisoned to death if they tried to absorb it. Nevertheless, the Void magic energy inside the Void World could not be used outside. This meant Kyran could not use the energy there to replenish his Void core if it got depleted.

Why was Kyran worried about his Void magic energy when he was not using it much? Obviously, it was because he planned on using it now.

Since Kyran did not want to alert the other Armakeans, he could not use Draconic magic to deal with the Prince and his knights.

While it was true that Draconic magic enhanced his overall physical fitness and senses, which enabled him to deal with his target easily, it was only effective to a certain level.

The Prince and his knights were likely above a Magus. Their level might even be an Arch Magus. If this was the case, then using Draconic magic was not enough to take them down in a short span of time.

Of course, Kyran was confident he could take them all down. But it would take some time, and by then, he would have drawn the attention of the rest of the Armakeans, and he would only end up exhausting himself.

If he wanted to deal with the Prince and his Knights efficiently, Kyran had to use Void magic.

The problem was, would his magic energy be enough to deal with them all at once?

As per Gael’s intel, the number of knights with the Prince was at least a hundred.

‘If I want to dispose of them without alarming them, I can only use the Void Needles,’ Kyran thought.

It had been a while since he last used the Void needles, and his control over its creation had improved over the years. However, with limited magic energy, the amount of needles he could make was limited.

Besides, would one needle be enough to kill one knight?

Kyran had yet to encounter a Magus in Somuli, much less an Arch Magus. Thus, he did not know how strong their defenses were. Moreover, the knights were no ordinary mages. They were comparable to an Abjurer in terms of defenses, but they were far more powerful than combat mages in general.𝓝𝞸𝗏𝖊𝑙𝒏𝑬xt.𝓬𝗈𝓂

‘Lord master.’

An unfamiliar voice sounded in Kyran’s head, forcing him to stop.

A shadow slowly appeared before him, kneeling on one knee, “Lord master, I am master Gael’s shadow.”

Kyran’s brow twitched slightly. He understood that calling him master when his master was his minion sounded strange. But adding a ‘lord’ after master to differentiate them sounded even stranger.

“The Prince of Armakea’s camp is nearby. Please exercise caution. Several knights are currently on patrol around their periphery.”

Before looking ahead, Kyran circulated his Draconic magic, enhancing his five senses.

Just as Gael’s shadow said, knights were patrolling the camp’s periphery.

Suddenly, one of the knights near the edge stopped and looked to his right.

Kyran was surprised because the direction the knight turned was close to where he and Gael’s shadow minion were.

‘Hide in my shadows,’ Kyran ordered the shadow minion at once.

The shadow minion did not ask questions and immediately hid in Kyran’s shadow.

The knight, who looked in their direction, stopped and scanned his surroundings for a few more seconds before resuming his patrol. Still, he kept looking back in their direction as if he was not entirely convinced there was nothing there.

‘Such a high-level perception,’ Kyran thought

Just now, that knight sensed Gael’s shadow when it appeared before Kyran. As for Kyran, he was protected by the Shaiha, so it would be impossible for the knight to sense him.

Nevertheless, the fact that the knight sensed the shadow’s presence when they were still more than a hundred meters away from the periphery of the Prince’s camp was truly impressive. Besides, the knight was not using something similar to magic sense. It made Kyran wonder how the knights developed their perception.

Kyran watched the rest of the knights for a few seconds. The more he observed them, the more he felt it was a waste to kill them

After a while, a small smile tugged at the corner of Kyran’s lips and he muttered, “Interesting.”
