Legacy of the Dark Sage

Chapter 800 Plan (3)

‘He plans to conquer the plane because of me…?’

The thought touched Cyneah. But soon after, her insecurities took over and killed the hope that sprouted in her heart.

“Conquering a plane is no easy feat.”

“I know that’s why I needed the Eidums to do that.”

“How? You know what they are good at, and that is not fighting a war. They could barely fight their own battles. How do you expect them to help you?”

Kyran raised his brows in surprise. He noticed Cyneah did not include herself when referring to the Eidums and felt somewhat happy.

It seemed telling her his intentions made her conscious of her real origins. Though it was far from convincing her to return, it was a good start.

“That’s why the plan is to strengthen their military capabilities,” Kyran replied with a slight smile. “I can’t do anything about what they are good with, but I can add people who could fill in on what they lack.”

“You’re eyeing the Armakea. I understand that much. But aren’t you setting your sights too high?” Cyneah asked, looking at him in concern. “Even though the Kingdom of Cretea is home to the Sovereign, they are only second to the Armakea.”

Cyneah paused, remembering something, and said, “And this is already in consideration that any rules do not bind the Kingdom of Cretea’s fake Sovereign and can meddle in the affairs in Somuli.”

Kyran was somewhat surprised.

Though the supposed Sovereign of Somuli is fake, his strength is still equivalent to one. It should be noted that a Sovereign’s strength is unparalleled. If the Armakea’s military strength could still be considered top in Somuli, even with a Sovereign in the Kingdom of Cretea, it was a testament to their individual strengths.

“I know the knights of Armakea are powerful, but for them to still threaten the Kingdom of Cretea that had a Sovereign is… good news,” Kyran replied with a slight smile.

“You…” Cyneah could not help but sigh in exasperation. “…are not taking me seriously, are you?”

Kyran chuckled, “I am. But you don’t have to worry about anything. Since I’ve decided to target Armakea, it means I have a plan.”

Cyneah could not help but frown at him. The way he pointed that felt like she did not trust him when she did. As a matter of fact, she trusted him too much to the point that she knew he was up to something dangerous.

In the end, Cyneah swallowed whatever argument she thought of and sighed in resignation.

“Fine,” she said and stood up. “Just don’t overdo it.”

“I won’t.”

“You say that, but I already sensed you’ve damaged one of your magic cores.”

Kyran was inwardly shocked. He did not even sense Cyneah looking into his sea of consciousness. How did she know one of his magic cores was damaged?

As if reading Kyran’s doubts, Cyneah said, “You don’t have to be surprised. I could hear a slight change in your breathing pattern.”

Kyran raised his brows. He had thought she saw his magic core, but apparently, her enhanced senses were why she discovered his condition.

ραΠdαsΝοvel.cοm “Why did you assume that I damaged my magic core?”

“Twice you’ve fought a horde and came out unscathed. You even fought a magical beast and were exposed to its blood, yet remained unharmed. Since this is the case, the only way I could think of that can hurt you is if something damaged your magic core.”

“Something, huh? Not someone?” Kyran asked cheekily.

“Enough with that, and let me heal your magic core.”

Kyran did not argue. Since Cyneah already knew his magic core was damaged, there was no point in not letting her heal him. Besides, the damage to his magic core was not severe and would not exhaust her.

At least, he hoped so.

In any case, if he believed she would end up exhausting her reserves to heal his magic core, he would stop her.

After healing Kyran, Cyneah got up and went toward the door. Before she could leave, however, Kyran said, “Neah. Next time, don’t enter my room without permission.”

Cyneah paused and looked back at him.

Kyran was now seated at the foot of the bed and looking at her sternly.I think you should take a look at

Cyneah could not see his expression, but she heard it from the tone of his voice. She initially wanted to complain and say something like:

‘What? You used to enter my room without permission. Why can’t I do the same?’

But after some thought, she stopped herself from voicing her initial thoughts and answered, “I’ll… be careful next time.”

After Cyneah left, Kyran took the time to rest. Then he went to the border and checked its array formation.

Enhancing the array formation of the Eidum’s border was one of the things Kyran had to do before the Armakea attacks. To be honest, he thought of a plan where Achim and his knights would backstab Captain Hohen, resulting in their sneak attack failing. But then he wondered if all of the knights in Achim’s leadership had indeed sworn allegiance to him or if there was someone who was a spy of the King. Thus, to be safe, he decided to let them continue with the sneak attack while Achim and all the rest of the Servants attacked them in the dark.

The one who would allow them to succeed was Gael’s magic.

As for the rest of the beasts, Kyran planned to let the Eidums gain practical experience by having them fight them.

Lastly, Kyran would deal with the magical beasts. The reason he decided this was not because he knew the Eidums could not kill a magical beast because with Nahir joining in the fray, they had better chances of dealing with one. But Kyran did not want that because he had other plans with the magical beasts.

To be honest, Kyran’s target this time was the knights and the magical beasts. He just had not decided how to win the latter’s allegiance.

Nahir received news of Kyran’s return. At first, he wanted to return to the receiving room and escort his father to his room, but because of the news, he changed his course and went outside the border.

The other Eidums on duty watched Kyran sit on the edge of the steel wall, facing the vast field in silence. They were curious why the younger man returned from inside the HQ instead of outside. Not only that, he seemed to be in a hurry, as if something dreadful and urgent had happened, which forced them to put up their guards.

In the end, nothing happened, and Kyran returned looking as carefree as ever.

Unbeknownst to them, Kyran sat there and appeared relaxed when, in truth, he was busy studying the border’s array formation.

His brow furrowed slightly as he realized that the core of the array formation was inside the receiving room. Frankly, he already expected it. But he thought he could still enhance the border’s array without touching its core.

Alas, the border’s array formation was one of those rare and older ones with a fixed core location and strict rules. If he wanted to change anything in any of its array formulas, he had to do so in its core.

With a sigh, Kyran stood up and was about to warp inside the receiving room when he noticed Nahir’s presence approaching from the side.

He looked at him and raised his brows when he saw the older man looking at him sternly.

“I heard you left the border,” Nahir said as soon as he was within Kyran’s earshot.

Kyran shrugged, “I sensed something strange and checked it.”𝑵𝔬𝑣𝚎𝒍𝑵ℯxt.𝓬𝒪𝔪

“Did you find anything?”

“I did,” Kyran replied, not planning to hide anything.

“You have returned for some time,” Nahir said while frowning at him disapprovingly. “Why did you not seek us to discuss what you saw?”

“Because I had to do something urgent first,” Kyran replied with a shrug. “After that, I will look for you.”

Nahir’s frown deepened. As much as he disapproved of how Kyran did things, Nahir admitted that there were things that would make sense only to him. Thus, discussing it with Nahir and the Abbot would be pointless.

Nevertheless, Nahir hated not knowing something, especially when they were expecting something big to happen at the borders.

“So you haven’t finished your urgent business?”

“Not yet,” Kyran said, heaving a sigh. “But the only way to complete it is by going to the receiving room.”

Nahir’s eyes narrowed at once. It did not take long for him to understand what Kyran was trying to do. He had suspicions after seeing how effective the token he gave his father was. But it seemed, Kyran did know lost technology.

Kyran looked at Nahir with a slight smile, “Since you’re here, why don’t we go there together? While working on it, we can talk.”

“You sound like working on that did not require full concentration.”

“If you’re curious about something, just ask. You don’t have to play with words to fish out some information,” Kyran told him with a raised brow. “Let’s go. We only have a few hours left.”
