161 Learning the part of Limit Breaker!
Whoosh!
A biting cold wind crept into the carriage through the open door and nipped at the faces of the people sitting inside.
“Fuck, it’s cold.”
Like a priest driving a demon out of a possessed man’s body, the cold wind compelled them to clutch their thick jackets tighter around them.
Because it was too draughty and the twins were in obvious discomfort, Amelia closed the carriage’s door. “It will be fine now.”
The only path that could be taken to step inside the carriage was blocked.
The freezing air around them warmed up a little.
The twins stopped shivering.
“It’s so cold outside. I wouldn’t head out there even if I were heavily dressed. How come Uncle Arlo suddenly had the ingenious but stupid idea of training Roy in such a chilly place? Does he have a beef to settle with him?”
Julian huddled close to Maya in his quest to seek bodily warmth but was immediately forced by a gaze that scrutinized him in disdain.
‘Do not approach my naive sister if you value your life.’
That’s what Aydin’s gaze told him.
“Lord Arlo isn’t the type to bully others unreasonably. He must have a reason for putting Lord Roy in such a spot. Not to mention, they are nothing like us mages. They don’t have frail bodies. Such a low temperature wouldn’t harm them.”
Amelia summoned a velvety blanket from the inter-spatial ring that Roy had bought her and passed it to Julian.
“Hmm, you may be right. Maybe the technique Lord Arlo is about to teach Roy can only be learned in a chilly environment.”
A curtain was covering the carriage’s window. Delilah pushed it aside using her long, slender fingers, the tips of which were red like diluted red wine.
The window was then gently pushed open.
Two men standing face-to-face were revealed.
Moonlight slightly illuminated them.
Two pairs of gorgeous crimson eyes curiously watched them.
The night was dark.
Clouds covered the sky.
Yet, a mesmerizing full moon could still be seen overhead.
“What I am about to teach you is the secret of our clan. It can only be taught to another person through physical contact. There are no breathing patterns or chants for this technique. You only need to circulate your aura through certain blood vessels while breathing in the energy of the world to get it started. Trying to exceed your limitations will be as painful as crossing a sea of countless suffering without a boat. But don’t give up no matter what. You understand me?”
An uncle and nephew pair could be seen just below the moon.
They were standing in an empty patch of land that was surrounded by thickets of dry grass of a wheat-like color.
Roy replied, “I do!”
Arlo grabbed him by the wrist.
Then… Roy’s hand was raised.
“Good! I will start by helping you recognize which blood vessels in your body need to be injected with Aura when you breathe in the world’s energy.”
In the following moment, a huge amount of aura gushed out of Arlo’s inner world and escaped his body through his shoulders.
It was golden in color and looked like a wave surging high and low as it circled him.
Rotating down his arm, it reached his hand and made it glow golden.
The aura gathered in his hand threatened to force its way into Roy.
Goosebumps rose on his skin, and his sixth sense tingled.
Immediately, he yanked his hand out of Arlo’s grasp.
Then he looked at his uncle in bewilderment.
“Don’t you know that injecting aura into someone like this can explode their blood vessels and ruin their future as a knight? You almost killed me.”
Arlo rolled his eyes at the ignorance of the boy, but he did not lash out at him.
He was partly to be blamed for Roy’s outburst as he hadn’t warned him before doing what’s typically considered a life-threatening action.
“My aura control mastery is the second best in the empire. What you’re fearing will not happen. If you trust me, do not doubt me. I will not harm you. I only want the best for you.”
Roy hesitantly stretched his hand out to him.
He would normally not entrusts others with his life. But the allure of Limit Breaker was too much, and he trusted Arlo.
Arlo could’ve killed and harmed him many times, but he never did.
Thus, Roy didn’t suspect that he was after his life or planning to harm him.
That’s where he was wrong.
Arlo’s aura sunk into him and spread to various blood vessels in his body.
As the foreign aura moved throughout his body, Roy could feel his body heating him.
“Feel it. Try to discern which blood vessels my aura is moving through. Tell me when you get the answer.”
Arlo’s words rang in his ears.
An urge to clash with it using his own aura also surfaced in Roy’s mind countless times, but he suppressed it to the deepest recess of his consciousness and closed his eyes to focus on sensing how his uncle’s aura was travelling through his blood vessels.
Ten breaths passed.
Cold winds blew more furiously.
Dry grasses rustled.
“Boom!”
Suddenly, it thundered. An arc of lightning brightened up the world. A blue line surrounded by an air of fierceness was drawn in the fabric of reality. It could be seen flashing from one corner of the sky to another before disappearing.
Pit-pat.
Then, huge droplets of water escaped the clouds and fell down.
It started raining.
Just as the third droplet fell on Roy, the system’s notification rang in his mind.
『Ding! Congratulation. You’ve learned the aura circulation method of the Limit Breaker Technique!』
The way Arlo was moving his aura through his blood vessels was perfectly memorized by Roy.
His eyes snapped open.
He looked at Arlo and beamed, “Uncle, I’ve learned it.”
Hearing his words, Arlo’s eyes widened to the size of saucers. Disbelief wrote over his earlier calm.
“It has only been a minute, and you mastered it? I thought it would take you three hours! Heck, my father had to circulate his aura in me for three days before I comprehended this technique’s aura circulation method.”
Arlo ended up doubting Roy.
“Are you sure you’re not playing a prank on me?”
