244 Volume 4 of the Novel (Part-1)
Roy put aside his weapons, looking away from Tevenlor and turning to his ancestor, who was sitting just behind the egg, his body blurring like glitches in a tv.
Roy saw Yulran’s fleshy draconian body becoming transparent in seconds, looking like it would disappear any second now.
The rush of adrenaline that he started experiencing while fighting with Tevenlor disappeared at this view, and he gazed at Yulran with concern.
“What’s wrong with you?”
“Haven’t I told you already? I don’t have long to live. My lifespan is close to burning out.”
At his words, Roy’s sighed, specks of sadness creeping out of his eyes and pang of pains stabbing him in the eyes.
His long eyelashes trembled like a kid who was about to cry.
Tears pooled in them.
Thinking that he was crying because of seeing him die, Yulran waved his claws at him in annoyance. “Don’t be so dramatic! I am not dying for real. This is just a part of me, and there are countless like me. The true me is still out there, flying across the Thousand Great Worlds. My death means nothing! You don’t need to feel sad about it.”
Because of what he said, he earned a look of bewilderment from Roy.
“W-what are you talking about?” Roy raised his eyebrows at him.
At this moment, they both realize that they have misunderstood each other.
“I am not so saddened to see you disappear that I would cry.” Roy said to him, “Dust literally got in my eyes, and now it’s not getting out!”
As if it was to prove he really meant what he said, Roy turned his eyes to mist, filtering the specks of dust in it with his aura under his ancestor’s gaze.
The problem with having big eyes and eyelashes was that dust gathered in them easily, and the air was filled with it. It’s no surprise that dust got in his eyes.
“Ah… I see. I don’t have much to give to you. I can only apologize for mistaking you for being an overly emotional little girl. Do accept my apology.” Yulran felt embarrassed for misunderstanding him.
Roy rolled his eyes at him.
Was this little dragon apologizing to him or making fun of him? He seriously shouldn’t have compared him to a little girl when apologizing to him because now it seemed more like he was taunting Roy than apologizing to him.
‘I am a guy with intense killing intent, for god sake. Did he go blind when I took down more than a hundred thousand snakes?! Ahh!’ Roy breathed out fire. ‘He is so annoying, just like Arlo!’
What he was refusing to comprehend was that he, too, came off as annoying to others. It ran in their blood. Annoying and frustrating others was their specialty. Heck, Yulran had even killed a supreme expert by frustrating him to death! That was his second most epic kill to date.
“May I give it a try?” Roy asked Yulran after a moment.
His eyes, glittering in excitement, were dead set on the egg, and his blood was boiling at the thought of having a Formless Siren as his pet.
He couldn’t wait to hatch the egg and get her because she truly meant a lot to him.
As long as he could get her, he could raise an army of beast tamers against the greatest of all trashy fuckers, Chaos.
The idea of thousands of beast tamers commanding their hundreds of thousands of tamed beasts to pounce and rip apart chaotic beings and smash the undead to death made him giggle like crazy.
Tevenlor was a bit confused seeing him like that.
Yulran ignored the changes in him, gave him a nod, and, in a pleasant voice, replied to him, “Yes, you may try your hand at hatching it. Hopefully, you will be able to. A great burden would disappear from my shoulder if you do, and I will die without regrets.”
Yulran’s words put a smile on Roy’s face, and he rushed towards the egg, completely ignoring Tevenlor, whose opened mouth closed shut.
The hand he raised when he was about to call out to Roy was also brought down to his sides.
He wanted to pledge his eternal loyalty to Roy as per Yulran’s command. But now that Tevenlor was ignored, he swallowed what he wanted to say, saving them for some other time and silently watching the young man who was currently acting no different than a little child that was about to get what he wanted.
Yulran clearly knew how intelligent Voss was. It wouldn’t take him long to link Tevenlor’s connection with the disappearance of the egg, and once he does, he would show Tevenlor’s hell. Voss was a sick pervert. He didn’t like to kill others if killing them didn’t prove useful to him. He liked to torture them, and he knew all sorts of ways to torture souls. Tevenlor, his precious creation, would break down in that monster’s hands. That’s why he urged Tevenlor to go out of this place with Roy.
Roy thought, ‘I would be able to raise an army of beast tamers for sure if I succeeded in hatching this egg. And even if I do not succeed, just bringing her out and taking her to that place would guarantee it.’
Roy looked at the egg in the same way a king would look at his precious throne, or a man would look at his voluptuous wife after coming home from the office feeling all horny.
He knew her true worth!
She is related to the main protagonist’s thickest plot armor.
To understand a formless siren’s true worth, one must first understand some things about Beast Tamers.
Beast tamer was a class that could be acquired without awakening.
A person just needed to tame a beast using a skill to become a beast tamer.
Skills that allowed you to tame beasts were called beast taming skills.
Only a handful of beast taming skills existed in the Far West Major Realm.
Although these skills allowed the domestication of a few types of beasts, they weren’t popular among the masses, and thus there were little to no beast tamers in this world “Currently.”
