Loki’s Successor System

Chapter 119: APOCALYPSE DAWN (4)

Chapter 119: APOCALYPSE DAWN (4)

Thousands of spikes had hovered around the strange creature. Then, they all rippled at the siblings. Tristan dashed in front of his brother, pushed him down to his back. The spikes bolted at Tristan. But as soon as one touched his body, this area of his body had copied the properties of water. The spikes ended up going straight through him like they would go through water, drawing no blood.

Tristan quickly thrust both his hands forward; pushing with all his mustered might. A huge whirlwind of spiraling water had left his palms and continuously expanded toward the creature. The creature was partiallly washed away, but suffered no wounds thanks to its hard, dark purple shell.

Tristan quickly turned around, clenching his teeth. He bent over, and heaving his brother. He placed Milton on his right shoulder, and started running toward his car with him. “Hang in there, Mil. We’re going to Jin’s place!”

***

Jin had been fighting for his life. He was besieged by monsters. He went on a massacre, slashing his dagger at the creatures. He constantly dashed and slashed. The strange part about it all was that the system was broken. It hadn’t rewarded him for the foes he had taken out, and he could not use his skills nor see how much Health he had left.

[Weapon special attack (Gamma Explosion) upon next blow]

Jin ducked as a huge dark blast fired overhead. Then, he quickly turned on his feet, and pounced at the assailant. He raised his dagger above his head, and crashed down on the worm-like creature. As soon as the dagger had touched the creature, there was an explosion. The green explosion sounded; bursting the creature and a few others into nothing but blood.

Jin was unaffected by the explosion. His body was swathed in a variety of different colors of blood. Red, blue, black, and even green. He whipped out his dagger as another creature approached him. The creature raised its hand; dark energy culminating.

Jin quickly spun, and hurled his dagger at the creature. The creature fired the dark ball of energy, knocking away Jin’s dagger. Jin quickly spun again, closing his hand. A creature whacked him from behind. His dagger manifested in his palm. He hurled the dagger at his initial target again. It peirced right through the creature’s head. Jin closed his hand, the dagger reappeared.

He quickly spun around, slashing at the creature behind him. The creature quickly grabbed him by his neck, fingers digging into flesh. It roared in his face. Jin quickly raised both his legs and kicked the creature to its chest. He was extricated from its hold. He landed on his back. A creature came crashing down from the air at him. He quickly rolled.

The creature slammed down. Jin jumped to his feet. A creature assaulted him from the behind. Without turning around, he thrust his back. It penetrated the creature’s heart from behind. He yanked out his dagger, brows furrowed.

‘There must be a certain creature whose magic is affecting my system here. I reckon it’s somewhere around. If I can kill it, maybe I would regain my skills,’ he thought to himself.

The field of was cleared a trifle. Jin was the center of these creatures. These creatures were differently. Strangely, they did not all attack at once. They sent out more and more of the creatures; and everytime a wave was cleared, more competent ones were sent.

If these weren’t even Hel’s soldiers whose power were on par with Jin, what would Jin do when said soldiers arrive?

Jin constantly spun around in circles; roving at the creatures. What was taking them so long to send out more? Perhaps he could use this time to single out the creature responsible for his system errors.

He constantly spun around, peering at thousands of creatures. ‘ There are just too many … I don’t think I’ll be able to find—’ his eyes widened upon landing on a certain creature.

The creature was freakishly tall. It possessed the features of a human, but with a grey skin tone. It’s eyes were crimson red, with dark energy oozing out. Its black hair was held in a ponytail. And there was a red crystal at its chest where more black energy emanated. It was one of the tallest creatures, sticking out like a sore thumb. Its eyes were glowing profoundly as if it were using its max power while just standin, energy radiating from its eyes. Jin’s eyes would ussually glow when bewitching someone.

Jin furrowed his brows. He wasted no time. He spun around again, hurling his dagger at the creature’s core. The dagger went straight for it, lined up perfectly. However, it suddenly halted in the air as if held back by telekinesis.

Jin grimaced, closing his hand again. His dagger reappeared. This creature was powerful. It was an obvious Sorcerer. Suddenly the crowd of creatures began to part. They made way for the creature about step in the circle where Jin stood. The rocky creatures—crimson eyed—made their ways to the center, with menacing gaits.

Jin backed away a bit, looking up at the towering creatures. His back had eventually touched the creatures behind him. They pushed him away, back into the center. Jin quickly whipped out his dagger. The rocky creature had sharp protrusions at its wrists, extending out like blades. The nearest creature roared at Jin.

Jin peered into its glowing, red mouth as it roared relentlessly. It slowly raised both its arms to attack him. He slid under its legs, and leaped up to his feet again. He turned around, and slashed at the creature’s back. Laevateinn hadn’t done much damage at all, leaving mere scratches. Fruitless.

It was almost difficult to decipher the message on screen. His system was bugging out. He had to take down the Sorcerer and fast! The rocky creature spun around. Jin ducked, dodging its spin elbow.

He slashed at its chest. Erroneous. But he had noticed something. Recognition dawned on his face. The creature had a red core at its chest. One that his dagger could go through! Before he could take a action, the creature hit him to his head.

Jin collapsed, rolling. He leaped to his feet again. He peered closely at the rocky creature. More of these rock-like monsters were behind him, but they weren’t attacking yet.

The one in front of him, quickly opened its mouth; revealing red. The red glow in its mouth had begun to spiral, radiating perpetually. When suddenly, a huge red blast constantly beamed out from its mouth.
