Chapter 104 Luna; Silver Death (1)
Black Moon City.
In the past Old Dan told Raven this was how he wished to name the one completed city around the headquarters of the Black Moon Guild, that is how Raven knew what to say when he used Zeusbridge.
Of course, he didn't know if there will be any Zeusbridge transit within Black Moon City but considering that Old Dan's guild was on the top and the Zeusbridge was his creation, Raven was confident that at least there will be one.
And his confidence turned out to be right.
Standing in the center of a large platform that seemed to be right in front of the Black Moon Guild, Raven could see buildings towering toward the sky in great numbers.
Restaurants, various facilities, ordinary houses, and other buildings stood beside the wide and long silver streets. It seemed in the three years he had been away, Black Moon City grew not only in size but also advanced in technology, just like Nova City.
After looking around in a daze for a few seconds, Raven shifted his gaze toward the north where the upper level of a large mansion could be seen, right behind a wide and tall silver building that seemed to be a hotel.
"It changed nothing at all" Raven began to smile when he first spotted Old Dan's mansion, however, his smile quickly froze when the Zeusbridge below his feet lit up.
'Crap!' having a bad premonition in his heart about what was happening, Raven wished to jump to the side, but it was already too late.
With a white flash, a humanoid figure popped out of nowhere where he was just standing, causing him to be knocked over and fall to the ground.
[Your Luck Energy had been boosted by 1%!]
"Oi! Are you okay, pal? I didn't mean to hurt you, sorry."
Surprised, a tall but skinny figure with sharp black horns protruding out from his forehead extended his hand toward Raven, who at the moment lay on the ground with his butt pointing toward the sky and face buried in the platform.
"...I-Its okay. I'm fine. I shouldn't have dazed around for too long." pushing himself up from the ground before accepting the man's hand, Raven rubbed his nose and showed a wry smile.
The tall man looked at Raven with a weird look before he nodded and walked away.
As for Raven, he did the same, fearing if he lingered even a second longer there he will not only bump his face into the ground again but broke his nose too!
'I should watch out more...' Raven sighed inwardly, feeling a little depressed.
However, it only lasted for a few seconds before his mood got elevated and his eyes began to flicker with awe. And not because of just how much Black Moon City has developed, but because almost above everything around him he could see those floating panels, just like the one he saw above the pipe back then!
For example, not far away from him on the other side of the street, there was a little girl with a small balloon in her right hand while waving a fake but sharp sword in her left. And right above that pink balloon, a panel floated.
----------------
? Current Chances to burst: 66.173% (Max: 100%)
? Available Luck Energy to enhance: 13.05%
? Needed Mystique to activate Luck Enhancement: 3,300 units
----------------
There was also an old lady walking right in front of him, in her hand was a staff that helped her walk properly.
----------------
? Current Chances to break: 32.93% (Max: 100%)
? Available Luck Energy to enhance: 13.05%
? Needed Mystique to activate Luck Enhancement: 7,400 units
----------------
However, there was also one that was different from the rest. It floated right above a little puppy.
----------------
? Current Chances to die: 3.67% (Max: 64%)
? Available Luck Energy to enhance: 13.05%
? Needed Mystique to activate Luck Enhancement: 39,600 units
<Not Possible to Enhance!>
'Max 64%?' Raven raised a brow, but then he seemed to figure out the reason.
'Luck Enhancement is highly dependent on the surroundings, that's why.' Raven thought as he looked around, and indeed there were very few things that could possibly kill that puppy.
Of course, for those things to really kill the little animal, numerous "coincidences" needed to happen one after another, or if he used his Luck Enhancement to increase the chances of those "coincidences" with his Luck Energy.
Furthermore, there was one major thing that Raven was able to learn in these few minutes while he reached the mansion.
It seemed the floating panels didn't appear everywhere and around everything, only around things that he looked at while also having an "impression" in his mind about it.
For instance, the little girl with the balloon. When he looked at her balloon and saw how she waved her toy sword around, the first impression or thought was that the balloon that way will burst.
The same went for the old lady. When he saw her leaning on that very aged-looking staff, the first thing he wondered about was just how long it will last before breaking.
As for the dog... Well, it looked a little similar to the beast he killed back during his challenge, thus perhaps why the panel showed how high its chances to die were.
'And what if I think about it barking?' Raven wondered, and soon enough, the panel above it really changed.
----------------
? Current Chances to bark: 96% (Max: 100%)
? Available Luck Energy to manipulate: 13.05%
? Needed Mystique to activate Luck Enhancement: 700 units
----------------
'96% and it has yet to bark?' Raven raised a brow as for him 96% was such a high percentage that with that amount the dog should have braked already.
Yet, it didn't.
'Weird... What if I do this?' Raven thought and used 0.01 Energy Luck to manipulate.
"Woof!"
A loud bark resounded the very next second, earning a flinch from the young man walking beside it.
As for Raven, a deep frown was visible on his face, seemingly in deep thought. Then, his eyes widened and a flash of realization appeared on his face.
"I see. So that's how it is!"
