LORD OF THE KARMIC FATE

Chapter 138 Crazy People

Inside the Star Treasury Auction House people sat in silence, staring at Alexios with eyes full of admiration before... they all broke into thunderous applause!

Watching as thousands of people clapped their hands as if he was some kind of celebrity, the corner of Alexios' lips curved upward and bowed like a true noble.

"I am truly humbled indeed! And for that reason, I will open this amazing auction night with nothing but an amazing item, with an Arcane Grade Relic!"

Whoosh!

At that very moment as Alexios spoke those words, as if by magic, in the middle of the platform on a small raised section, a pair of beautiful boots rested neatly, shining with a mesmerizing crimson color under the light that fell on it.

When people's eyes fell on the crimson boots that gave one a feeling of both danger and strength, the whole auction hall got filled with gasps of shock and awe, some even starting to murmur between each other, exclaiming their thoughts quietly.

A smile immediately formed on Alexios' face when he saw the expressions around him and quickly stepped beside the Relic which was contained behind seemingly fortified glass.

"The name of this Relic is called Bloodcursed Walkers, a unique Relic that not only boosts one Speed and Dexterity passively by 12 points but also grants its wearer a special skill known as Blood Curse."

As he reached that point with his speech Alexios placed a hand on the glass container and with a faint smile he continued;

"In exchange for a little amount of Mystique and Vitality, the wearer of these majestic boots will experience another 12 points of increase in their Speed and Dexterity while they will be also granted the ability to use these as weapons."

"And when I say weapon, I don't only mean to be able to injure others with kicks but also place a special type of curse on others with which one can corrode their targets' blood under minutes!"

Once Alexios stopped talking, the auction hall once again broke into murmurs of awe, shock, and a little fear.

Meanwhile, inside one of the VIP rooms, Raven stared at the boots with a pondering look before he let out a soft sigh.

"Arcane Grade Relics are truly something else. I can hardly imagine just how strong Divine Grade Relics and above can truly be."

After all, even his Primordial Grade Rune Mark granted him powers that no one on Earth possibly possessed, so he could hardly imagine just how strong Relics above the Arcane Grade could be.

Hell, if he could remember right, currently on Earth there was only a single individual with a Divine Grade Artifact that was still in its Initial Form. Naturally, that individual was the strongest human alive.

As for why there was only a single human with such an Artifact despite three years having passed, it was because Large Piece Artifact Crystals were extremely rare and insanely hard to collect!

They say to upgrade an Arcane Grade Relic to Divine Grade one has to collect 4 Large Pieces of Artifact Crystals that so far only appeared inside Crimson Gates with 6 Ring Marks or inside Black Realm Gates, which so far 3 appeared and only 1 had been conquered in exchange for the lives of hundreds of powerful Rankers!

It could be said that the jump between Arcane Grade and Divine Grade was the true threshold between Grades, a boundary that only the strongest could traverse.

While Raven thought all about that in silence with a small bowl of chocolate pudding in hand, Alexios, on the large platform took a step forward and clapped softly.

"Now then, describing what this great Relic can do, let us start bidding, shall we? The starting price will be 5,000,000 Novas with a minimum bid of 100,000 Novas and no barrier!"

"Cough!"

Almost choking on the chocolate pudding when hearing the minimum price of the Relic, Raven stared with wide eyes at Alexios and watched as people began to raise their hands one by one.

"5,100,000 Novas!"

"5,200,000 Novas!"

"5,700,000 Novas!"

'...'

The spoon in Raven's hand almost fell out as he watched how the minimum price skyrocketed and reached 7,000,000 Novas in a blink with no signs of slowing down at all!

'...This is insane.'

"They are all nuts, huh? Spending so much money on a single item." stepping beside Raven with his muscular figure, Old Dan showed a joyful smile and laughed.

"In the past, before the Great Change, only a few people would be willing to spend this much money, yet now, almost anyone who has enough wealth would do whatever they could do to acquire items such as that one."

"They are all crazy... Don't they fear going broke?" Raven asked with disbelief.

"Oh? Look who talks, someone who has thousands of bets because of gambling addiction." Old Dan glanced at Raven with amusement before he shook his head and said, "Though, the answer to that question of yours is no, they are not."

"Even if they spend all of their fortunes here on a single item, completing missions through Guilds or the Realm Association, one can easily earn millions, it was just a matter of time."

"Is that so?" Raven hummed quietly, but when he remembered the amount of Novas he gained after conquering the Crimson Gate he had to accept the truth.

Even if one had an F Character Rank, which was considered trash, under a few weeks of hard work one could amass enough wealth to afford a lot of things without any problems.

In the past, such a thing was simply impossible to think of.

'The world has truly changed.' Raven thought silently and watched as the bidding for the Bloodcursed Wanderers began to slow down.

"With another 100,000 Novas from the gentleman over there with number 1,778 we are currently at 11,600,000 Novas! Does anyone wish to bid more? Anyone?" Alexis looked around, curious to see whether there will be someone to raise the bid more.

However, as there were none he showed a smile and clapped his hands.

"Then it is decided... Sold!"
