What was going on?
Elder Li was shocked.
Before he could react, a man alighted from the car parked by the side.
There was a faint scent of blood on him.
Tang Jun hadn’t interacted much with Matthew’s men, so he could only recognize Matthew and not the man before him. However, he was wearing the logo of the Mas family and was definitely working for Matthew.
Qin Ran took a look at the man and recognized that he was working for Mattew.
She immediately put on the cap to cover her face while hiding behind Qin Hanqiu. Qin Hanqiu had a big build and covered her from sight completely.
“Master, who is…” he asked puzzledly while looking at Tang Jun as he got off the car.
Tang Jun was staring at the men who just got out of the car.
He shook his head and replied, “I haven’t interacted with Matthew that much.”
“Hi, Sir. Can I know, who are you looking for?” Elder Li asked nicely as the man approached.
Is this guy at the wrong place? He doesn’t seem to be looking for Tang Jun.
“I’m looking for someone,” replied the man as he stopped in his tracks. He then looked in Qin Ran’s direction.
Elder Li looked in the direction that the man was looking at and noticed Qin Ran. He was puzzled and thought that he must have been overthinking about the matter…
As he thought of it, the man spoke respectfully in the direction that he was looking at.
“Miss Qin, I have a favor to ask of you.”
1
Miss Qin…
Only one person could be addressed as Miss Qin.
Elder Li was confused and turned slowly towards Qin Ran.
Qin Ran was still hiding behind Qin Hanqiu while using her phone to text Cheng Juan. Cheng Juan had told her that he was looking for Matthew for a chat. She didn’t expect that Matthew’s subordinate would look for her. This was because their previous conversation wasn’t about the latest developments. They never left any form of contact after the conversation as well.
She subconsciously walked towards Qin Hanqiu and texted Cheng Juan asking when his chat with Matthew would end.
When she heard the man’s voice, she recognized him as one of the guys who caught her and Cheng Wenru a couple of days ago.
Something must have happened that led him to look for her.
She sent the text to Cheng Juan and kept her phone. She then instructed Qin Hanqiu and the rest.
She turned towards the man and signaled for him to follow her.
They walked down the road for a while. After she made sure that they were a safe distance away, she then asked with a low voice, “What’s the matter?”
“Big boss asked me to pass this data to you.” The man fished for a classified document and handed it to her. “He mentioned that you must take a look at it.”
Qin Ran took over the document.
There was nothing written on the cover. She took a quick glance at it and couldn’t understand why Matthew had to be so secretive.
After he made sure that Qin Ran had accepted the document, the man returned to his car. On his way back, he greeted Elder Li.
Qin Ran wasn’t going to look at the documents in such a crowded place. Hence, she walked back while holding onto it.
Elder Li started the car, but no one got on it. Everyone was focused on Qin Ran.
“What’s wrong?” Qin Ran asked after she realized that everyone was staring at her.
Qin Hanqiu asked smilingly, “Ran Ran, do you have some connections here as well?”
“Not quite,” Qin Ran replied after thinking for a while. Her interactions with Matthew were mainly due to Gu Xichi. “He’s a friend of Brother Gu.”
Qin Hanqiu replied, “Oh, he’s a friend of Gu Xichi.”
Tang Jun nodded and kept silent.
Elder Li held onto the car keys while staring at Qin Ran.
No wonder Tang Jun wanted to meet her no matter the cost…
1
The rest got in the car. Elder Li asked with his hands on the steering wheel, “Second Master, does this Gu Xichi live on Continent M as well?”
He was really curious.
Matthew’s subordinates knew all the powerful people on Continent M.
Qin Hanqiu didn’t know much about Gu Xichi. He replied while tightening his seatbelt, “I’m not sure. But he’s a really good doctor. He’s currently in Beijing.”
He overheard from other doctors that Gu Xichi was a great doctor in the previous month.
Qin Hanqiu wasn’t sure about the other aspects, but he was sure that Gu Xichi was really famous.
Elder Li drove the car past the traffic light.
He smiled and kept silent after hearing what Qin Hanqiu said.
Qin Hanqiu had never left the country. Hence, Elder Li thought that Gu Xichi was great on a national standard and could never be compared to the researchers in the medical association on Continent M.
1
At the back.
Qin Hanqiu was sitting next to Tang Jun.
Qin Ran was sitting next to Qin Ling.
Butler Qin was sitting behind Qin Ran.
It was almost six in the morning. They were about half an hour from Qin Xiuchen’s base.
No one slept on the ride.
Tang Jun was chatting with Qin Hanqiu and asking him to visit the Tang family. “Your mom’s room is still reserved. The tree that she planted is still alive as well. Come have a look when you’re available.”
As he spoke, he looked out the window in reminiscence.
Qin Hanqiu’s hand shook uncontrollably as he heard about the mother that he couldn’t remember.
“Also,” Tang Jun said as he looked smilingly at Qin Ran, “I have a granddaughter about the same age as you. She’s clever too. You two will be good friends.”
3
Qin Ran overheard the conversation while watching Qin Ling play a game. She turned to look at Tang Jun and nodded.
Qin Hanqiu turned to look at her and said, “That’s right, Ran Ran. Your uncle’s granddaughter is a really good hacker. You can chat with her, so don’t spend your entire day at the laboratory.”
Tang Jun continued, “I’ll pass you her contact number.”
He felt that youngsters should have more topics in common. He couldn’t find any topics to converse with Qin Ran…
As he spoke, he took out his phone and told his eldest son.
At the same time in the Tang family.
Eldest Master Tang opened the door of Tang Qing’s room and told her Tang Jun’s instruction.
2
Tang Qing was caught up with her work. When she heard Tang Jun’s instruction, she replied impatiently, “What kind of nonsense is this?”
She was busy and had no time to waste.
