Chapter 353: Arriving at Glazeland
Chapter 353: Arriving at Glazeland
”It hit?” A voice echoed in the office, filled with glass panels and a table in the middle.
A middle-aged man with bushy eyebrows had a grin painted on his somewhat ugly face, with facial features very unbalanced with others.
”Y-Yes!” On the screen, a man wearing a lab coat nodded shakily.
He was frightened after the first two missiles missed but felt like a mountain was lifted off from his shoulders after he got a message that the last missile struck the plane successfully!
Now, he can keep his life and his job.
”Good…” The middle-aged man said with satisfaction, ”If reporters come, tell them that we fired missiles towards the Island of Death, hoping to kill the King of Beasts, but failed in doing so.”
The man with the lab coat nodded, and the screen turned black.
With a satisfied look, the middle-aged man grabbed a bottle from his desk and took a glass cup with the same motion.
He poured a drink that was in the color of gold.
”For majestic Government.” The middle-aged man said and grabbed the cup before gulping the drink down his throat.
…
In Flight 447.
Several hours later.
”We have entered Winterlight,” Lucas said and looked outside the window; not far away from them, a snowstorm was wreaking havoc on top of a country.
Ichiro stood up and arrived next to Lucas.
‘Azura…’ His fists were clenched as he thought about a certain black-haired girl.
*Beep*
Suddenly, a beeping noise came from the dashboard, and a voice followed.
”Flight 447, you haven’t been authorized to enter the airspace of Winterlight, please state your purpose.”
”It is Winterlight’s Flight Control,” Lucas said and was about to reply, but was soon stopped by Ichiro’s hand.
”Hmm?” Lucas looked at Ichiro with a questioning look.
”Let me,” Ichiro said and pressed a button, which allowed him to talk with the Flight Control.
”This is Flight 447, my name is Kurogami Ichiro, and we request permission to land at a nearby airport, the plane had an explosion, and we are losing altitude.” After finishing, he waited for the answer.
Lucas and Rick waited nervously. If they have to turn back, the plane will crash.
Ichiro looked calm and had more faith than the two pilots in front of him.
*Beep*
Soon, a beep was heard.
”Permission granted, we have sent coordinates for the nearby airport in Glazeland, welcome home, Mr. Kurogami.” After those words, the voice was finished, and new coordinates popped up on a screen.
”Yes!” Lucas cheered with Rick and felt their survival being very close.
After countless near-death experiences, the end was near!
Ichiro smiled and opened the cockpit door.
”Where are you going?” Bonney asked, which caused both Lucas and Rick to turn their heads around.
”To my seat, I am passenger, after all,” Ichiro replied and closed the cockpit’s door.
He opened the curtains and entered the first-class area.
Many of the passengers were still trembling in fear, but some managed to calm down.
After seeing a youth appearing, all of them looked surprised.
But then, an elderly woman asked, ”Hey, youngling.”
”Hmm?” Ichiro stopped next to the seat, where an elderly woman with gray hair and wrinkly face was sitting.
”Do you know what that sound was previously?” She asked with her aged tone.
”Yeah, the plane had some malfunction and will have to land on Winterlight.” Ichiro cooked up a quick lie.
”Ah, I see… But, what about the missiles?” She curiously asked.
”They flew past— whoever fired them must have had a shitty aim,” Ichiro replied with an innocent smile.
”Language!” She said sternly, but a gentle smile was found on her face.
”Apologies.” Ichiro did a quick bow and was about to continue walking, but the old woman stopped him again.
”Why were you in the cockpit?” That was a question she wanted to know the most.
”Take your child to work day.” Ichiro replied, ”Captain of this flight is my dad, I gotta say, it was quite exciting— I can’t wait to be able to brag about it in school.”
He left the first-class area, leaving a stunned old woman behind.
Soon, Ichiro reached the business class, where his seat was located.
The first thing he noticed was the number of pale faces, with many having tear-stained faces.
Families were hugging each other, and only children were slightly confused about what was happening.
”Excuse me!” Ichiro’s shout attracted everyone’s attention.
”Ichiro?” Patti finally noticed that Ichiro was missing for quite some time!
Everyone looked at the youth with confusing faces.
”Plane has a malfunction, which changes the destination of the flight.” The passengers became pale as they first thought about crash landings, but then Ichiro continued, ”The plane will land on Glazeland’s airport, located in Winterlight!”
”S-So, the plane won’t crash?” A middle-aged man asked next to Ichiro. He was hugging his pregnant wife, who was touching her large belly, with tear stains reaching from her eyes all the way to her delicate chin.
”Ah, no,” Ichiro said and sat down on his seat.
Passengers who heard him say it so casually were shocked before cheers of celebration appeared.
They relieved their frustration and fear through screams and cries.
”Ichiro.” Patti whispered from a seat three steps away from his, ”Where were you?”
”On bathroom.” Ichiro replied and chuckled, ”Hehe, it was quite a bumpy ride.”
Patti sweatdropped, ‘What the hell!’
Hessu, Antti, and Antero also asked questions, but Ichiro replied with quick lies, and soon they lost interest.
After Ichiro managed to start relaxing, another person popped up next to his seat.
It was Olivia, the flight attendant, who got his autograph.
”It was you wasn’t it?” She whispered after arriving next to him.
”What?” Ichiro opened his right eye and turned it towards Olivia.
”The one who saved everyone!” She whispered, but louder this time, which caused her to cover her mouth.
”Nah, I didn’t do anything.” Ichiro replied and then remembered, ”Ah right, give me the autograph back, you don’t deserve it.”
”What?!” She screamed with disbelief, ”No, it is my treasure!”
Ichiro’s eyebrow twitched, ”Even better, give it back, it’s your punishment for getting all of us almost killed.”
Olivia didn’t know what he meant by that but reluctantly gave the piece of paper back with a pouting face.
Ichiro grabbed it and tore it apart before littering it all around the floor, ”Next time, be quiet about secrets.”
Olivia pouted and stomped away.
Ichiro turned his head to look outside the window and saw that the plane was starting to descend, and below them, a city was seen.
They have reached Glazeland, and Ichiro was even closer to his destination.
