Chapter 6114, Oh, You Made Her Cry

Chapter 6114, Oh, You Made Her Cry

Author: Silavin

“And you expect me to be thankful for that? Are you some sicko who takes pleasure in humiliating others before their death?” The Young Lady pointedly said, which caused Yang Ji to sigh. “Wait, wait wait. If you die, I die as well. So, why would I kill you? I’m binded to you because of that middle-aged man who was protecting you.”

“So, you are not an enemy, you’re a slave?” The Young Lady seemed to still be wary, though the sharpness in her voice had certainly decreased by a few degrees.

“A slave?” Yang Ji thought for a bit but shook his head. “Except for the Blood Binding Seal, where your death affects my life, I don’t have to take your orders. Besides, I would say we are on the same boat, in a way.”

“What do you… Aghhhhh!” The Young Mistress had a delicate frown on her face when she suddenly felt a panging pain in her head. “How…”

The pain was unlike anything she felt before. It was not anything physical. Rather, it was her Soul being directly struck.

With the disparity of their cultivation, where this girl was no different to a Mortal, not having opened her Knowledge Sea, while Yang Ji still had his Divine Sense and Knowledge Sea, crushing her Soul was easy.

“Stop! You are going to crush her Soul at this point.” Wu Lun suddenly warned while seemingly looking at Yang Ji with eyes that questioned, ‘are you that merciless or stupid. If she dies, you die with her, you know?’

Yang Ji’s next reaction gave it all away, “Oops. Sorry. I didn’t expect you to be so weak… you okay?”

That answer shook both Wu Lun and the Young Mistress. The former saw him as a complete idiot who was naive of his own strength, while the latter saw him as openly mocking her. She had nearly died, and he still dared to mock her with such naivety?

However, his statement truly stung.

Even if she was looked down upon by her Family, even if her servants saw her with eyes of pity, she took it all in and bore with it. However, she was still a little girl at the age of twelve. She finally got the chance to cultivate, yet the first thing she expected after she saw this ray of hope was another person trampling over her, literally crushing her Soul.

Unbeknownst to her, warm streaks could be felt moving down her cheeks. Wu Lun had stopped Yang Ji from truly hurting her Soul, but the strike to her psyche was not something that he could have stopped, not with Yang Ji’s careless mouth.

“Ah, you made the little girl cry.” Wu Lun said with seeming exasperation, as though teasing Yang Ji.

“I didn’t mean too… hey, I’m sorry. I went too far there.” Yang Ji felt a familiar scene playing out, and the immediate idea to solve this was to follow what his Father usually did. He would apologise, even if he did not feel like it was entirely his fault!

[‘Yang Ji, remember, when dealing with women, saying sorry will save you a ton of trouble. When they’re emotional, no point arguing with them. If you want to talk, talk when they settle down.’]

Yang Ji stopped talking after he had apologised. He too had learnt that it was best for the man to keep quiet after apologising, and just let the woman release their pent up emotions. More words would just complicate matters further.

So, silence filled the space. Yang Ji did not want to cause more trouble, so he kept quiet, while the Young Mistress kept silent because she felt slightly embarrassed at how she had cried so easily in front of some unknown man.

She was not a fool. She naturally could tell that this person who had almost killed her, really did it by mistake. Sure, his life might be tied to hers. But, he had proven through this one action that she could not treat him like any other underling.

“Y-You wouldn’t have been able to hurt me if I had my Artifacts on me.” She suddenly blurted out, wanting to at least put a brave front after losing some face.

“Yes, yes. Of course.” Yang Ji replied non-committedly. Though, he did wonder to Wu Lun, “Why does she not wear any Defensive Artifacts?”

“She was no different to a Mortal before this. Any Artifacts that she can use, that can protect her from any real harm, must be able to store its own energy without its Master having any. Naturally, this energy would be Qi-related, which is hard to have for one to have on when one wants to use the Pool of Revitalisation.” Wu Lun simply explained.

“Wait, then why is your ring still working?” Yang Ji questioned.

“What do you think? This ring just houses my Soul. Well, a part of it. There is no Qi or anything related within it, so it will not hinder your time here. Besides, this is not actually an Artifact in the usual sense. Even if you pour your Qi inside of this, nothing will happen.” Wu Lun stated and pointed out, “As for normal Artifacts, if you have them on while in this pool, they will hinder the absorption. This is another reason why these chambers needed to be built. After all, the stakeholders of this city can’t have their VIPs in danger.”

“Then her statement about if she has her Artifact on…” Yang Ji wondered…

“What else? You would not be able to do anything to her, and that’s a fact. Don’t underestimate her. She’s still the Little Princess of a Major Family within the Inner Heaven. The Artifacts she has on her protects her from even experts like Hong Jun. So, this might realistically be the only time where you can threaten her.” Wu Lun shrugged.

“I wasn’t trying to threaten her, though.” Yang Ji wanted to continue listing his grievances but he knew it was meaningless. Instead, the girl’s voice caught him by surprise.

“Name?” The Young Mistress, noticing that the voice in her head had gone silent for a while, feeling awkward that someone saw her at her weakest, and felt as though she seemed to be waiting for someone else to speak, took the initiative to ask while wiping the tears from her eyes.

“Oh. Yang Ji. What about you?” Yang Ji, seeing how his Father’s wisdom seemed to have worked, where this little girl had started to cool down, elatedly introduced himself.

“You don’t know my name? I’m your Young Mistress, Hong Lan Tian.” Hong Lan Tian made a perplexed expression. [Just who is this? How does he not know me when his life is tied to mine? Is that why he dares to threaten me like this?]

“It’s not my fault everyone just calls you Young Mistress, you know? How am I supposed to get your name if no one ever says it?” Yang Ji stated.

Hong Lan Tian soon questioned, “You said you were bound to me, so how do you not know the person who you are bound to? Are you stupid?”

Yang Ji could hear Wu Lun chuckling away at a corner upon hearing this.

A little annoyed, he shot back, “Not like I wanted to be bound to you. Hong Jun was the one who did it, and you were unconscious. But thanks to that, I actually have the chance to enter the Pool of Revitalisation. So, I gotta thank you for that I guess.”

“Ah, so you’re my substitute.” Hong Lan Tian seemed to have put the piece together, then questioned, “I heard you are unable to cultivate, how is it that you have such a powerful Soul then? Also, how are you in the same chamber as me?”

“Err…” Yang Ji froze for a moment, and his attention naturally fell on Wu Lun.

“What are you looking at me for? Go ahead, answer her.”

“Haa… It’s not that I can’t cultivate, you know? I just lost my cultivation. That’s why I still have my Knowledge Sea and Divine Sense. As for where I am, I’m actually in another chamber. I stretched my Divine Sense over here following the connection within the Blood Binding Seal.” Yang Ji confessed and asked in return, “Hey, can you make it easier for me to speak to you by diving down? It’s actually hard for me to stretch my Divine Sense all the way up to the top of the pool.”

Hong Lan Tian made a face as though she was being asked to do something completely absurd, “Dive down? Are you crazy? How would I even breathe down there?”

This time, it was Yang Ji’s turn to have the same expression, “Huh? You need to breathe? Can’t you use a Technique for that?”

Wu Lun, unable to contain himself from this clown show, quickly corrected Yang Ji, “Ha ha ha. Boy, not everyone is like you. You’ve gotten used to the emptiness of the Void, where there’s no air. Even without your cultivation, your Physique remains the same. And just like how your body transcended the need for food and water, you no longer need to breathe. But, that girl is still Mortal. They need food, water and air on a regular basis. You can’t expect her to dive down and stay there for long. In fact, for most people, you are basically asking for the impossible.”

“But it’s hard to speak to her if she moves any further away from her spot, though.”

“No worries. I’ll pass you this Technique. Just use it on her, and then you two can freely speak.” Wu Lun said and a flood of information was injected directly into Yang Ji’s Knowledge Sea, where waves rose as the tranquility inside had been disturbed. However, it quickly regained its calm, as Yang Ji settled it down.

Ordinarily, it would have taken a long time for Yang Ji to comprehend such a Technique, but Wu Lun had directly passed down his own understanding of the Technique, simplifying it multiple times over.

In short, Wu Lun was passing on an off-shoot of a Technique. Furthermore, in exchange for simplifying it, the effectiveness of it has also fallen. Still, this was more than enough to serve its intended purpose.

And was that purpose something Yang Ji was going to agree to?

“Wait. Isn’t this effectively making her my slave?” Yang Ji frowned after he realised what this Technique entailed.

This Technique was to extract a person’s Divine Soul Brand and seal it within one’s Knowledge Sea!

Yang Ji had never heard of such a method before. From what he knew, Divine Soul Brands were intrinsically tied to a person’s Soul. It could only be taken when the other party agreed to it. After all, giving it away was equivalent to handing away one’s control over their life and death. At the same time, extracting it forcibly would basically damage the person’s Soul to the point of death.

He did not expect there to be a Technique that could steal a person’s Divine Soul Brand, without so much as damaging the other party’s Soul. This was both miraculous and dreadfully dangerous. Anyone with this Technique could essentially turn everyone else into their slave.

If such a Technique was found in the 3,000 Worlds, Yang Ji could foresee the whole of High Heaven Palace taking up arms to destroy it.
