Chapter 1360 Inner Demon
Chapter 1360 Inner Demon
"This is a very stupid thing," said Raelle as she looked at the details regarding the bridal shower that she looked up online. She couldn't even believe that she was looking up something like this online. "Who even came up with this very unnecessary thing?"
"What are talking about all by yourself?"
Raelle looked up from her phone at Hyson and then she looked around to see if she entered the right house. Well, she made no mistake. This was her home. Then what was he doing here?
"What are you doing here?" asked Raelle to him.
"Eating my cheese sticks," he answered matter-of-factly. "Ellie, are your eyes okay? Don't scare me now. We are so close to your wedding. Don't go blind at this time. Oh, wait! You are already blind in love. What irony!"
"HA! HA! HA!" was Raelle's bland response.
Hyson didn't mind it at all and continued to eat his yummy cheese sticks. "Why are you staring at my food? You know I won't share. But you can ask for more from the kitchen and try them the sour cream dip. That'd make it even better."
"Hyson!" called Raelle.
"What?"
"I asked what are you doing here?"
Hyson pointed at Shui Koshing who was holding a game console in his hands and replied, "I came to play and Uncle Shing so kindly offered me food too. I couldn't refuse."
"Oh, daughter-in-law," started Shui Koshing. "I was getting bored so I called Fai over for a game."
"Oh," was the only response Raelle gave as she was about to ascend the stairs to go to her room.
"Hey, wait!" called Hyson from behind. "You didn't even answer me. What were you muttering to yourself just now? Care to share?"
"Don't want to," replied Raelle. "What can you do about it?"
"Of course, I can't do anything to you. But I can keep asking and asking until your ears get tired of hearing the same question over and over again. You know I'm curious and you also know I'm stubborn and very persistent. I don't get tired until I achieve my purpose."
"Are you threatening me right now?" asked Raelle.
"Maybe I am," replied Hyson.
"Then let's see who wins," said Raelle before going up.
"Tsk. She didn't fall for the trick," said Hyson.
"Why are you tricking her?" asked Shui Koshing funnily. "Do you get some kind of a thrill going up against her?"
"I feel like a warrior when I stand before her," replied Hyson dramatically. "You won't understand that."
"No, I actually do," said Shui Koshing.
"You do?" asked Hyson in surprise. "Have you also felt like this before someone?"
"I felt like a coward standing in front of my wife even before she became my wife. But I was a warrior and couldn't accept that I always lost my courage in front of her. So, I repeatedly tried to stand my ground against her. But once we got married, well, I realized I lost the moment I fell in love with her."
"I did not think this would be turn of the story," said Hyson. "Anyway, whoever falls in love first always loses. You should have held your ground, Uncle Shing."
"You kid, I'm really looking forward to your love story. I'd love to see you holding your ground."
"Why is everyone after me?"
"Who asked you to annoy everyone?" retorted Shui Koshing. "But you all really need to stop worrying about me. I am not looking for love," said Hyson.
"Who does?" asked Shui Koshing. "I was raised as the heir of my family. From morning until late at night, all I had around me were books, extracurricular activities, and documents from office to train myself early. Was I looking for love? No! I barely had time to breathe. I was suffocated. But then one day I saw her in the library with her eyes closed basking in the sunlight that fell on her face through the window right by her side. I can still remember the name of the book she had in her hands or even the style of the pendant she wore that day. I felt like I could breathe for once. So, dear Fai, no one goes looking for love. It just comes to you at the most unexpected time of your life. Sometimes, you'd be dying and it'd come as your salvation. Sometimes, it'd come to hold your hand in need only to pull you into the eternal hell. It comes in all forms and ways."
"You know what all that sounds like to me, Uncle?" "What?" asked Shui Koshing.
"All you people with experience in love has glorified love so much that it almost feels like a trap to me now. I feel like you are playing a evil game by making others believe in love."
"Why?" Shui Koshing seemed incredulous. "I bought a shirt from online shopping site. I hated that experience and told myself to never do it ever again. That's how bad the shirt I received was. But do you know what I did? Instead of writing a bad review, just like all the other reviewers, I gave it a five star. Why should I be the only one wasting my money? Others should also go through this thrilling experience."
Shui Koshing coughed when he heard that from Hyson. He did not how to react right now. He was not expecting such a turn in the story. "That's bad."
"I know. It was one of the times when I let my inner demon control my thoughts. But guess what? It was fun and quite fulfilling for a split second until the guilt kicked in. However, my point is that you all people with love experience feel like those evil reviewers to me who purposely give five stars just to make others suffer too like they did. That is why I'm not falling for your words." He looked genuinely convinced with his own reasoning that he came up with. He looked so convinced that it was hard to shake his beliefs right now.
"I finally understand why or how you had been able to stay so persistent with your ideas until now," said Shui Koshing as he patted his shoulder with a speechless look on his face.
