Chapter 1367 Took It Personally
Chapter 1367 Took It Personally
"You're driving?" asked Raelle as she looked at Xiang Wai who took the steering wheel. "Can I just call my personal driver instead?" Cloe pfft-ed at that and had to purse her lips when she noticed the way Xiang Wai looked back at her.
"Dear sister, you don't have to be so obvious about your doubts regarding my driving skills. You have never seen me drive before," was Xiang Wai's response.
"Indeed, I haven't seen you drive before," agreed Raelle. "That's why it's more concerning. You see, your personality says a lot about your driving skills. I value my life very much."
Xiang Wai fastened her seatbelt and gave her sister a provocative glance, "Well, then unfortunately for you, your life is in my hands tonight." With that, she stepped on the accelerator and took a flight. Yeah, it was a literal flight since Raelle felt like the air pressure was trying to pressure her back into the seat. "This is a car," reminded Raelle. "Not a plane!"
"What? I can't hear you," shouted Xiang Wai in response very indifferently. Since someone questioned her driving skills, she had to let them know what she could do. How else would she live up to her name?
Raelle could only deal with this now that she had gotten herself involved. She couldn't blame anyone. She was the one who opened her mouth to say the wrong thing and made Xiang Wai retaliate so childishly. What could be done about it now?
"Mmm... Wai, you were supposed to take a turn back there," Cloe said to Xiang Wai who was busy enjoying her car flight right now and didn't even notice the turn. "Huh?" Xiang Wai slowed down the speed and turned her head to look at Cloe. "Was I supposed to make a turn?"
"Yeah," answered Cloe.
"Why didn't you remind me earlier?" asked Xiang Wai.
"I thought you knew."
"How would I know?" asked Xiang Wai. "Even if I knew, I can forget that. I mix up things when it comes to directions."
"How did you survive in the army?" asked Cloe.
"I only lose my way on the roads," answered Xiang Wai. "Otherwise I am very good at finding my way out of everything."
"I suddenly highly doubt that statement," said Cloe as she turned on the nevigation system of the car and punched in the location. "Great! Now, we have to drive for an hour before we can find an exit. You're so good, Major Wai! I feel like giving you a round of applause."
"Relax," said Xiang Wai. "It happens. You can't just blame me like this. Anybody can make such mistakes."
Raelle listened to them talking from the back seat and suddenly wondered if it was really a good idea to go out with these two. It suddenly really didn't look like a very good thing. She chose to close her eyes to rest instead of focusing on what they were doing.
"Why so quiet, Raelle?" asked Xiang Wai. "Would you like me to play a song for you?"
"Even if you play one, I won't be recognizing any song," replied Raelle with her eyes closed. "So, don't waste your time."
"Hey! Then how are you gonna dance with us?"
"I'm not dancing," said Raelle.
"Then why did we put so much effort into your looks?" "I didn't force you."
Xiang Wai was exasperated, "Can you be a bit cooperative here?"
"I have never been this cooperative in my life as I had been in the past month or so," said Raelle. "Believe me, I don't ever wanna be this cooperative ever again either. Once in a lifetime experience is enough of a lesson for me to know that I'm not meant for this kind of a life."
"Don't say that now," said Xiang Wai. "I'm gonna teach you how to dance and set the dance floor on fire tonight."
"Playing with fire is strictly forbidden for me since I was young," was Raelle's response.
Xiang Wai's lips twitched, "That was a metaphorical fire and not a real one."
"Even metaphorical fire is dangerous for me."
"Don't annoy me," said Xiang Wai. "Even if I have to drag you, you're still getting on that dance floor tonight."
"I don't know about fire but she might tear down the dance floor if you pissed her off," reminded Cloe. "I told you let's change the plans and not go to a nightclub. She isn't meant for those places."
"I want her to be reborn on that dance floor and I'm not taking a no for an answer," Xiang Wai was stubbornly insisting on her point and Cloe was quite helpless about it. She really had told Xiang Wai all about Raelle's likes and dislikes and clearly mentioned how nightclub was a place where Raelle did not belong. But Xiang Wai had to do this.
"Cloe, I thought you hated the idea of going clubbing with me because I am just that boring," Raelle spoke up from behind again.
"I am still sticking with my words," replied Cloe. "And trust me, I tried to convince your sister too but she is just very stubborn. Just like a stubborn bull!"
"Hey! You can't call me a bull!"
"Why are you offended now? Did I say anything wrong?" asked Cloe. "You're clearly like a bull which can't see anything else after seeing the color red. You just have to go forward even if it means you'd be hitting your head straight in the wall behind that red cloth."
"I know you're trying to make me mad but I'm telling you, I'm in a good mood tonight. So, you can't make me mad."
"Challenge accepted."
Both Cloe and Xiang Wai paused when the answer was coming from Raelle. "Chief, let's forget about it."
"Yeah, it wasn't for you. I don't dare challenge you."
"What to do," started Raelle. "I took it just personally."
Xiang Wai almost smashed her head into the steering wheel after hearing that from her sister. Only heaven could save her now.
