Chapter 113
Chapter 113
Despite the blush on her face, Jun Zishu couldn’t help but feel a little sinful deep down inside.
She did not love this person, yet she was seducing this person bit by bit.
Could it be considered seducing, though?
Probably.
When Luo Minghuan heard Jun Zishu’s words, her heartbeat quickened slightly.
“Yuanyuan, do you know what you are saying?”
“I know. Of course I know. I am only telling the truth,” Jun Zishu said with a frank and sincere expression.
Luo Minghuan held Jun Zishu’s face and gently kissed the corner of her right eye. Then, she briefly pulled back her head before stamping her lips against Jun Zishu’s lips.
Just like their owner, those lips felt warm and soft.
For a moment, Luo Minghuan trembled as she lost control over her body. Simultaneously, her heart felt as if she had just regained something she had lost.
However, before Luo Minghuan could make sense of what that feeling was, it quickly disappeared once more.
Jun Zishu obediently let Luo Minghuan kiss her, her eyes remaining wide open as she looked around at a loss.
As their lips grinded against each other, Luo Minghuan slowly and carefully traced the shape of Jun Zishu’s lips.
Jun Zishu tentatively stretched out her tongue to meet with Luo Minghuan’s tongue, only to swiftly retract it back as soon as she made physical contact, a hint of playfulness appearing in her eyes.
Luo Minghuan felt suffocated because of Jun Zishu’s provocation. Immediately, she pulled Jun Zishu into a tight embrace as retaliation. Then, she began patiently invading Jun Zishu’s mouth, prompting Jun Zishu to do the same with her.
Despite the brewing snowstorm outside, the inside of the bed-chamber was filled with warmth and passion.
Luo Minghuan’s lips that had originally been cold started to warm up after this series of fiery actions.
The sound of slurping water rendered the atmosphere even more ambiguous as Jun Zishu leaned into Luo Minghuan’s body, her eyes watery and her face flushed with excitement.
Jun Zishu’s lips had become slightly swollen from all the sucking and licking. Set against the face that was ignorant of reality’s harshness, the sight created an innocent charm.
Luo Minghuan embraced Jun Zishu, a feeling of irony in her heart.
This was the way it should be. This person should be hers.
This silly little dummy was hers.
Even until late into the night, the corners of Jun Zishu’s mouth remained raised.
“Are you that happy?” Luo Minghuan asked as she pinched Jun Zishu’s nose.
Jun Zishu wrinkled her nose before nodding and saying, “Of course I’m happy. Why wouldn’t I be happy? I like Husband the most.”
After saying so, Jun Zishu nestled in Luo Minghuan’s arms, only to have herself pressed down against the bed the next moment.
“Husband?”
Jun Zishu softly called out as she looked at the person on top of her.
Subsequently, Luo Minghuan’s lips gently fell onto Jun Zishu’s lips as she initiated a slow kiss.
Naturally, Jun Zishu responded by mimicking Luo Minghuan’s actions.
Jun Zishu felt that the girl on top of her must be lacking love. The girl must also have a lot of stress piled up. After all, she had only pecked Luo Minghuan on the lips once today. Yet, as if she had triggered some strange mechanism in Luo Minghuan, after their first kiss, Luo Minghuan would abruptly start kissing her every now and then.
“Husband,” Jun Zishu called out softly as she felt Luo Minghuan’s lips moving down to her neck.
Luo Minghuan let out a soft chuckle as she buried her head into Jun Zishu’s neck and left a mark there.
Although Luo Minghuan’s cold fingertips subsequently moved from Jun Zishu’s peaks all the way down to her valley, Luo Minghuan eventually did not go through with the last step. Instead, she chose to embrace Jun Zishu and coax her to sleep.
Seeing that nothing more would come of tonight, Jun Zishu closed her eyes and entered dreamland.
…
The weather grew colder as the days passed, so Jun Zishu and Luo Minghuan reduced the frequency of their outings, choosing to remain in their warm bed-chamber as they listened to the howling snowstorm outside.
Luo Minghuan moved all of her account books from the study to the bed-chamber to manage. Meanwhile, Jun Zishu idly sat beside Luo Minghuan and looked around listlessly.
Seeing that the little dummy was bored, Luo Minghuan had a servant buy some picture books for Jun Zishu, using them to teach Jun Zishu how to read.
So, when Luo Minghuan was handling business, Jun Zishu would quietly read beside her. The atmosphere was considerably peaceful.
Half a month before the end of the year, Luo Ziying fell ill.
She caught a cold because of the winter, and her symptoms constantly switched between good and bad.
However, apart from the Third Madam, nobody else in the Luo Manor paid much attention to Luo Ziying’s illness.
Jun Zishu naturally did not care about them, either, focusing her attention only on Luo Minghuan.
Luo Minghuan had recently started taking her medicine with greater enthusiasm, going from having two bowls a day to at least three bowls a day right now.
Jun Zishu thought that Luo Minghuan’s illness had gotten more severe, but that wasn’t the case in reality.
On the contrary, Luo Minghuan’s condition was changing for the better according to Little Fairy.
Hearing this, Jun Zishu guessed that Luo Minghuan had probably shrugged off her treatment in the past because she felt that there was no meaning to life. However, now that she had found new hope in her life, she became much more eager in curing herself.
Jun Zishu was very satisfied with this situation. At the very least, her efforts in flirting and acting like a fool did not go to waste. If all of the shameless actions she had done had still failed to move Luo Minghuan’s heart, then there really was no saving this young lady.
…
Because of the cold weather, the Luo family members did not deliberately gather to have meals together anymore. After all, most of the dishes would’ve grown cold by the time they were served to the table. So, everyone chose to have their meals in their respective courtyards instead.
On New Year’s Day, the town was decorated with lights and colors. The Luo Manor was no exception, and the servants busily moved about with smiles on their faces as they decorated the manor.
On this day, the Luo family members also dressed up prettily and gathered to have a meal.
Jun Zishu also saw Luo Ziying, whom she had not seen for some time, at the table. Luo Ziying wore a pale and fragile complexion, her eyes looking devoid of life. Even now, illness still plagued the girl.
As for Luo Ziqi, she did not look at Jun Zishu or Luo Minghuan, keeping to herself throughout the meal.
When Jun Zishu looked at Luo Ziqi, she found the other party to be surprisingly pleasing to the eyes.
…
The day after New Year, something unexpected happened in the Luo Manor.
The deranged Sixth Madam had escaped from her courtyard and disfigured the Third Madam with a pair of scissors. She even stabbed the Third Madam several times.
The situation had taken place too suddenly, and the Sixth Madam’s strength was unexpectedly great. So, even when the maids tried to stop her, not only did they fail to do so, but some of them even got themselves injured.
In the end, the Third Madam died, just like that. When Luo Ziying, who was still ill, saw this scene, she collapsed from the shock and fell into a coma.
Meanwhile, after killing the Third Madam, the Sixth Madam laughed maniacally at the sky before stabbing herself in the heart, ending her own life without hesitation.
In the blink of an eye, only Luo Zihua, the Eighth Young Master, remained in the Third Madam’s courtyard.
He was merely ten years old this year. So, he was utterly powerless when faced with his mother’s death and his elder sister’s comatose state.
When Lord Luo handled the aftermath of the incident, his face remained expressionless, and one couldn’t tell whether he was saddened by the situation or not.
The people in town gossiped that the Luo Manor might be having an unlucky streak this year. Otherwise, why would the manor’s people die one after another? Such a situation had never happened in the past.
Eventually, Luo Ziying, the girl with a calculative mind, also passed away, failing to last through the end of winter.
Now, only Luo Zihua remained in the Third Madam’s courtyard. Because of the death of his closed ones, his complexion had turned pale, and his body had turned skinny.
With nobody left to take care of him, Luo Zihua stayed by Lord Luo’s side.
Meanwhile, Luo Minghuan merely maintained an indifferent attitude throughout all of these incidents. She kept on taking her medicine, flirting with her wife, and doing business like usual.
After Luo Ziying’s body was buried, Jun Zishu and Luo Minghuan welcomed a guest in their courtyard—the Eighth Young Master, Luo Zihua.
“What are you doing here?” Luo Minghuan asked calmly, her voice neither showing disgust nor hypocritical intimacy.
“I know it’s you,” Luo Zihua said, his fists clenched tightly as he looked at Luo Minghuan coldly.
“Unfortunately, you guessed wrongly. It really isn’t me this time,” Luo Minghuan said as she crossed her fingers and took a seat in a chair.
“Who else could it be if not you?! We haven’t done anything wrong to you, so why can’t you be satisfied after killing Second Mother and her children?! Why must you kill my mother and my sister?!” Luo Zihua questioned angrily as he tried to suppress his sadness.
Jun Zishu tried to keep her mouth from curling upwards.
Luo Minghuan wasn’t exactly lying when she said she wasn’t involved in the Third Madam’s and Luo Ziying’s deaths. Though, she wasn’t exactly free from responsibility, either.
Otherwise, how could the Sixth Madam, who had been locked up in her courtyard all this time, suddenly manage to escape from captivity?
Simply put, what Luo Minghuan did was give the Sixth Madam a chance to take revenge on her most hated person.
As for Luo Ziying’s illness, that was truly an accident.
“Tsk. Do you think nobody is aware of what Luo Ziying has done?” Luo Minghuan said, sneering. “Your mother has truly taught Luo Ziying well. She already has such a venomous heart despite being so young. It’s a pity that she fell ill before I could teach her a lesson. I can only say that this is retribution.
“As for your mother? Hah! Do you know how Sixth Mother became crazy?
“She miscarried twice, and the son she managed to give birth to on her third pregnancy got strangled to death while he was still in his infancy. Whose handiwork do you think this is?
“This is just karma doing its work.”
Luo Zihua stood there in a daze, his fists clenched tightly.
“I will kill you one day.”
When Luo Zihua recalled the final words her elder sister said to him, his determination was further strengthened.
Luo Ziying said that Luo Minghuan was responsible for their mother’s death.
“Oh? Since you think that I did it, what gives you the courage to say to me that you’re going to kill me? Are you not scared that I’ll deal with you first?”
“Father will protect me,” Luo Zihua said with his head lifted. He looked like he was brimming with confidence.
“Protect you?” Luo Minghuan recited these words in a playful tone. Then, she sneered and continued, “Can he protect you, though?
“If I wanted you dead, do you think you can still stand here and act arrogantly before me?
“Are you thinking that once you grow up, you can inherit the family business and deal with me?
“Don’t forget that I am eight years your senior.
“I find your foolishness amusing. Now, will you see yourself out? Or do you want me to kick you out?”
Luo Minghuan stood up, a hint of darkness appearing on her face.
Jun Zishu knew that Luo Minghuan was in a bad mood because of the word “protect” Luo Zihua uttered.
Despite the warm sunlight shining into the room and enveloping Luo Minghuan, Jun Zishu could not sense any warmth coming from her.
