Chapter 320 One After Another

Chapter 320 One After Another

Alex stood in a large, empty chamber, his unblinking eyes fixed upon the dark crystalline staff that stood suspended in midair before him and was undergoing a mesmerizing phenomenon.

All around the staff, the fabric of space itself was in turmoil, relentlessly bending and distorting with furious intensity, creating a cacophony of sounds that echoed throughout the chamber.

The gravitational field in the surroundings was also rapidly shifting under the influence of the staff, and it was subjecting the very ground beneath it to immense pressure.

Spiderweb-like cracks spread outwards, the stone ground bearing deep gashes, with stone chunks floating into the air.

The chaotic yet beautiful phenomenon continued for several minutes before it slowly calmed down, but even after it ended, the staff remained suspended in the air, its appearance having drastically transformed.

‘Great,’ Alex thought, as he held the staff in hand and used appraisal to check its status.

The complete staff looked mesmerizing, its length being slightly over six feet long, and it was forged from an unknown dark metal that seemed to absorb the surrounding light and was also extremely cold to the touch.

The staff boasted a sleek and minimalist design, having a straight shaft that leads to a gracefully tilted crescent moon-shaped head, with the upper curve extending longer than the lower.

Inside the crescent moon, the Voidweaver’s Orb hung without any apparent support, and it shimmered as dark as the deepest reaches of space, emitting an icy, impenetrable space shield that safeguarded it from any physical contact.

The entire staff’s lustrous, obsidian surface was adorned with small, intricate, ever-shifting runes, giving the illusion of radiant white star streaks coursing through the inky darkness of the space.

There were still close to six hours left before Alex nedded to meet with Alden and others, which was more than enough time to meet Venedikt and see if he was talented enough for the legacy and also tell him about his plans for the Malefis Domain.

Alex knew that Venedikt had an excellent talent for the gravity element as within a year and a half of having gained an A+ Rank Gravity Magician Legacy, he reached Fifth Rank.

In Alex’s previous life, Venedikt had chosen to become a fire magician for no other reason than because he was told to do so by his contractor, and even though he was a talented mage, he was nothing extraordinary in a guild as big as the Ugly Merchant Guild.

After over three years of playing the game, he lucked on the lowest-ranked legacy by completing a chain of quests, and in the following months, he rose through the ranks at astonishing speed.

However, still, he was given garbage benefits instead of what he should have received just because of his status and jealousy or hatred by some higher-up of the guild.

After telling Venedikt to meet him outside the training chamber, Alex also used a domain entry token to return to the city of Vortarum and quickly made his way to the meeting location.

(Few Minutes Later)

It took just a few minutes to meet with Venedikt, and while conversing about what Andrei was up to and how things were developing with domain inhabitants, they made their way into a training chamber.

“Venedikt, After a few hours, we are going to meet with some truly big names and make a deal that would continuously make us so much money that you couldn’t hope to spend it,”

“But before I tell you about that, I have the gift that I promised you,” Alex said as he took out the inky dark magic staff and handed it to Venedikt.

Venedikt accepted the staff with an intrigued gaze, yet his expression swiftly shifted to one of shock and disbelief upon appraising it.

In his moment of pure shock, he involuntarily loosened his grip, causing the staff to slip from his hand and hover midair before him.

After moments of silence, Venedikt hastily held the staff once again and appraised it to confirm what madness he had just witnessed, and seeing it be true, he released the staff and turned his wide, awestruck eyes toward Alex, who wore a broad smile.

“I told you I was close to securing an SSS Legacy for you, but by the looks of you, you didn’t take my words seriously,” 𝚋𝚎dnov𝚎𝚕.𝚌om

“You still have to earn this legacy, but I believe you can acquire it because you do not want our organization’s second in command to stay weaker than a lower-ranking member for a long time,”

“You know Saahira, I took her to an SSS legacy Tomb just a few hours ago, and she cleared the legacy tomb trial and proved herself with flying colors, becoming the third member of our organization with an SSS Rank legacy,”

“Technically, Saahira is the second member with SSS Rank legacy, as Andrei has yet to acquire his complete legacy, but you get the idea,” Alex said, to distract Venedikt from his initial shock and also to get on terms with the whole situation quickly and easily.

“Saahira acquired an SSS legacy? But besides that, Andrei truly did acquire the legacy of the Beast Monarch?” Venedikt questioned as he processed the new information.

“You are welcome to ask Saahira,” Alex answered calmly, knowing what his brother was going through.

Alex knew that both his brothers and even his guardians most likely doubted his words when he told them about the Beast Monarch legacy and then told Venedikt how he was close to getting an SSS Rank legacy for him.

Because even the top three Ranked guilds, titans among the players, had members with SSS Rank legacies numbering in single digits, with only three publicly known individuals having legacies belonging to Monarchs.

“When you told me that the heart Andrei consumed a part of the Beast Monarch’s legacy and promised me an SSS Ranked legacy, I must admit I had doubts.”

“Your statement seemed like nothing but unfounded boasting, to be honest,”

“I apologize for doubting your words,” Venedikt said with his head down.

“Well, if you had taken my words at face value without questioning their credibility, I would need to reevaluate my opinion of you,” Alex replied with a hint of amusement.

“Now, check if you meet the talent requirement to start the trail,” Alex said, and Venedikt raised his head, emotions of hesitation and doubt clear in his eyes.

After a few moments of silence to calm his emotions, Venedikt held the staff with a resolute expression as he accepted the first trial.

Moments later, the runes on the staff began to glow intensely, and the surrounding space started to shift, creating a hazy cocoon of twisted space around Venedikt.

Alex watched in silence as seconds ticked by, slowly turning into minutes, and finally, after twenty-one minutes, the surrounding space returned to normal, and Venedikt could be seen, unharmed, standing with his eyes closed.

“I am eligible to take the trial,” Venedikt said, raising his head toward the ceiling, a small smile appearing on his usually emotionless face.
