Chapter 366 Trouble
Chapter 366 Trouble
Alex shared his findings with his guardians, and they took the threat much more seriously and shared their thoughts, certain that the fall of the Emporer was not because of his disease but certainly from something else.
Elder Darrien even visited the Imperial Palace to see if the Emporer was present and see what he could find out about the situation.
While he was gone, Alex used a Silver grade Wish to meet with Zero to figure out what was going on, and fifteen minutes later, he knew a little better about what needed to be done.
The first thing that Zero made clear was that to learn what would cause the death of 80% of the inhabitants, which didn’t exclude players, or who was responsible for the fall of the Emporer or where to locate him, he needed to use a Platinum system wish.
Zero did share that Emporer was in a state of coma with zero chance of recovery without the help of some miracle elixir, and he was currently on the elven Continent in the care of the Elven Empress.
The information till this point was free, but Zero did charge him the silver-grade wish to inform him that not only the human Empire but even the Elven Empire was full of traitors.
So, if the powers working in the shadows find out that he (Domain Ruler) was aiming to help the Emporer and sabotage their plan, not only will they kill the Emporer, but there will also be other consequences.
Alex asked if he could trust the Empire guardian, the new Emporer, or even the Elven Empress, and every time, Zero replied that he would not recommend it. 𝘭𝑖𝑏𝘳ℯ𝑎𝑑.𝒸ℴ𝘮
The last thing Alex knew was whether he was going to do anything about the event in case he failed to save the Emporer and stop whatever was going to happen.
Zero replied with a yes, putting a smile on Alex’s face, but he followed it by saying that he would log out all the players to save them, and as for the NPCs, they had to die, and there was nothing he could do to stop it.
As the meeting ended, Alex wanted to pull his hair, as now he had the responsibility to save a few billion individuals and the worst part was that he couldn’t rely on anyone, and if he made a single mistake, he would not only doom the Emporer but billions of innocent souls.
After ending the conversation with Zero, Alex quickly shared what he found with Lady Margaret and asked her to contact Elder Darrien to return, as he feared he might take some measure to extract the information, knowing how serious he looked.
Elder Darrien returned in mere moments, and after learning what Zero shared, he shared how the new Emporer was a traitor, and probably the Empire guardian was also one.
However, the Emporers were not demon slaves. Instead, he had small man-made creatures inside his brain that didn’t have a presence, and he only found it because of a minor irregularity he sensed inside the Emperor’s brain, which could have been a tumor, but as he decided to check, he found the truth.
Alex was not surprised by the new Emperor being a traitor, but he was surprised that someone other than the demons was capable enough to control such pinnacle powers from the shadows.
Elder Darrien didn’t share any further information on this topic, but Alex had a feeling that he knew what was happening on a bigger scale.
Alex dropped all his thoughts and started brainstorming to find the shortest way to meet the Elven Empress without raising any alarms.
After an hour of thinking about all the possibilities, he only found two scenarios, with the first one granting him a guaranteed chance to meet the Empress whenever he desired and the second being very risky, which could result in him wasting a lot of time.
The first method was the use of the Elf Monarch legacy that Alex acquired in the Shelmoure Fortress because he knew that an elf with a pure ancient elven bloodline and also the holder of the legacy of a Monarch would be treated like a king by the elves.
The Empress would welcome him, incorporating him into her Empire, drawn by the allure of his exceptional gifts. In return, he gained an unobtrusive means of finding the whereabouts of the Emperor, avoiding any suspicion or alarm.
However, the player who acquired this legacy in Alex’s previous life did not have a very promising reputation, as months after he was taken in as a student by the Elven Empress, he stole things from the Empress worth close to a few hundred billion, and that was what the Empress made public.
Alex didn’t know how true the story was, but he did not want such a shady figure by his side who could stab him in the back, which was the reason he didn’t recruit him into his organization.
However, now the situation was different because if Alex could play his card right, he could make use of that player to find the location of the Emperor, and what he would do next was none of his problems, but an error could mean he was back at square one.
The second method required Alex to first become an elven soldier, to gain access to the Elven Royal Guard trials, and then pass them with flying colors, reaching the top ten highest scores recorded throughout the history of trials.
This would directly elevate his status to Royal Guard while also making him a candidate to be nurtured into the next Royal Guard captain, so the chances of meeting the Elven Empress and finding where the Emperor was kept were high.
However, this plan could take weeks of effort, and he would also need to find a disguise that could perfectly change his identity to that of a High elf and not fail him through the various tests the elves would do to confirm he was not a spy or an imposter.
After some thinking, Alex decided he would go with both ideas, just to be safe, but before he left for the Elven Continent, he wanted to see what the guilds had prepared for him, as only a few hours were left in the eight-hour countdown.
Alex finished his business in the following few hours, completing the third mission and collecting the last piece of the [SS] Rank legacy item before he went to the adventurers’ guild to buy some needed supplies for his trip that could very well last for months.
After that, Alex started to search the system search bar for his target player named Boras among the sea of players with similar names, whom he remembered as a failure and petty thief, and it didn’t take long to find him.
Alex checked his profile, seeing that he had joined the ancient world eighteen months ago, and he was a peak third Rank paladin working with a no-name small mercenary group, and seeing him post no pics or videos gave some insight into what type of man he was.
As Alex finished his preparation, only an hour was left before the guild made their speech, and while he was thinking about spending that time refining his physique, the dormant screens in every city came to life.
The cities also roared to life as the new Emperor stood tall, greeting his citizens with a smile. Curious about what that clown had to say, Alex opened a livestream.
“As Promised, I have come to announce the Great news that would bring prosperity and happiness to our continent,”
“I know I could have waited a day or a week, but I know that my father would not want his people to halt their lives just because he was taking a short rest,” Zyrus said, trying to lighten the mood, but Alex saw was a traitor to his blood and his people, a pest in power that should be crushed.
“The Immortal adventurers are a blessing for us, and two weeks ago, a group belonging to the reputed Asgardian Guild, Olympian Guild, and Egyptian Guild, and in turn of events, got teleported to a continent far away from us,”
“The Continent is named Terbis Continent, a mystical land accompanied by one-third the landmass of the human continent, yet it boasts a mana density in its atmosphere ten times that of the human continent.”
“The continent is Ruled by Six Kingdoms, and combined, they boast strength equal to any of the Empires, and for decades, they wanted to stay closed, not willing to be connected to us, to day trade, alternatively to become an ally,”
“They stayed disconnected because connecting to us seven continents would have benefited them little compared to what amount of resources they needed to keep the teleportation routes open and maintained,” Zyrus uttered and went silent to let his words sink in.
The city streets that very were filled accompanied by people echoed from all the voices as people questioned what the Emperor was implying, furthermore they didn’t need to wait long to get their questions answered.
