An ocean whose water was as dark as a starless night sky, swallowing all light in its inky depths, and not even the pristine glow of the bright moon, surrounded by a tapestry of stars, could penetrate its obsidian surface.
It was a thing of beauty or horror, depending on one’s perspective, and a lone island stood atop the vast expanse of the dark ocean, appearing from far above like a small piece of rock on a desolate, barren landscape, with nothing similar in sight for tens of thousands of kilometers.
The island was shrouded in an aura of mystery and quiet foreboding, with a dense, ancient forest covering much of its land, where even the air was thick with an eerie stillness, broken only by the distant cries of unseen creatures.
At its center stood two towering peaks, rising to nearly the same height with only a few hundred meters separating them.
Atop one of the peaks, a lone figure could be seen standing under the moonlight, staring into the distance.
‘I don’t know if I should be happy about surviving or cursing my luck for being stuck in this situation,’ Alex pondered as he stared into the distance, multiple screens floating before his eyes.

Alex felt gutted as he stared at his changed character window, memories of being helplessly held by his neck by that ugly bastard flooding his mind.

“You worthless pile of flesh, do you know what you have cost me?” Leviathan growled in a deep, suppressed tone, his aura radiating fury.
“The portal to the wretched continent is closed.”
“I have failed my mission. My king is disappointed in me and refuses to acknowledge my presence. My future is unclear, and I am stuck on the dark side of the world, all because of you,” Leviathan said, his voice trembling with fury and despair.
“I have failed to achieve my only purpose in life, as I have committed the grave sin of disappointing my king.”
“I will become a laughing stock among my brothers and sisters for failing such an easy task, one for which my king sacrificed so much.”
“It is all your fault! If only you, hateful swine, had stayed away, I would be basking in praise for my work, becoming the Warmaster, and leading the great war.”
“BUT YOU HAD TO RUIN IT ALL,” Leviathan roared, his tentacles flaring in Alex’s face, revealing the inside of his mouth lined with rows of razor-sharp teeth and a writhing, barbed tongue.
‘I hope these thoughts are all because of fear and have no solid ground,’ Alex pondered as the wild conclusion came to his mind.
Alex knew his value as a Domain Ruler to the Domain and Lady Enigma, so he was certain that something had gone wrong that had put him in his current situation, and it was not something that the mysterious entity expected, or at least he wanted to believe that.
Alex also knew that Zero was a neutral being, and his authority could not be suppressed by Ancient World inhabitants.
So, in his current situation, Zero either knew that he would not be erased from the ancient world, either because of the mysterious entity or something else, or Zero was giving Ahrimon a free hand to do as he pleased.
Both of these conclusions were scary because if the former was true, and if it was because of Lady Enigma, then it very much confirmed that she expected that Alex would find himself in such a situation.
The latter was just a breath of pure horror for Alex because if Zero was an enemy, he would be as good as dead, and no place was safe, neither the Ancient world nor the real World.
‘I dont know what Zero is thinking, but I am not waiting to find out how my life is not in danger,’ Alex thought as he began preparing to use the ‘Mana Nova’ skill the moment the potion effects ended.
“Great, Great, Great,”
“So your little trick to stay invisible and invincible is finally over,”Leviathan said, a twisted smile stretching across his face.
‘At least I tried,’ Alex thought, sensing the gathered mana in his second heart dissipating, returning to the normal flow as he lost complete control over it.
“An easy death would be too great of mercy for you,” Leviathan said, his grip tightening around Alex’s neck.
‘Damm you – — – —–,’ Alex couldn’t complete his curse as intense pain tore through his mind, similar if not worse than what he had felt after consuming the cleansing fruit.
Alex felt his skin burning, his muscles breaking, his very mind tearing apart by intense pain, but he clenched his teeth to bear the pain and suppress any screams.
“A look of defiance? Let’s see how long you can maintain it,” Leviathan said, his multiple eyes squinting with a murderous glare as his overwhelming aura crushed Alex’s very being.
Alex had gone through many painful processes, so he was confident that he would not be breaking any time soon, but the sheer thought of getting tortured for an unknown period sent shivers down his spine.
Alex had the pondered of logging out to get away from the pain but dismissed it because if he was going to be saved, then he wanted to be present to see it, and if it was going to be his last moments in the ancient world, then he wanted to live them.
It would be a great lie to say that Alex was not scared, but he had learned long ago that fear did nothing except cloud one’s mind, so it was better to accept it and use it to make the most of the situation one was in.
However, once Leviathan began to speak, detailing how he would kill him while stripping away his armor ring, and throwing knives, and sealing all his skills, Alex was truly shaken.
“I will take away all your equipment, erase all your skills, seal those that could not be erased, and then put a cure of death on you before throwing you on an island in this accursed land to die a slow, miserable death,”
“I have already removed your soul mark so the clowns from the domain could not hope to find you, and even if you tell them of this area, seeing how remote it is, they would not be able to find you in time,”
“You will die a slow death, your hope will wither away, your strength will drain to nothing, and your mind will break from the torment of helplessness,”
“And that would be my revenge,” Leviathan said, with a twisted smile stretched across his face.
