Chapter 515 A Hard-Fought Victory
Chapter 515 A Hard-Fought Victory
The Feybound form of the duo began to take shape, emerging as a startling amalgamation of Tsolmir and the fairy.
The newly transformed figure stood over six feet tall, combining the fairy’s bone-white skin and ethereal presence with Tsolmir’s muscular frame.
The transformed entity bore a face similar to a fairy with multiple holes adorning its cheeks, two white pupilless eyes, and other features resembling that of Tsolmir.
The eight crimson rings that previously hung from the arms of the fairy, now two of them firmly held by the entity, with the other six connected inside the steams made purely of sound generated from the first two rings.
The energy streams moved like two snakes, humming with deadly intent, ready to unleash devastating sonic slashes.
As the transformation ended, Alex used the darkness expanse to flood the surroundings, pushing back a significant portion of the raging sound of tornadoes and the cyan mist, dampening the cacophony of sound in his immediate surroundings, creating a sphere with a twenty-meter radius with little sound.
Alex knew that his enclave, while still rich with the darkness that he could use, had become a sound chamber, and if he did not create a controlled space, Tsolmir would have unmatched speed, and the battle would end before he knew it.
The sound was still present and trying to grow by seeping through the darkness, but within the twenty-five-meter radius sphere that Alex created, it was manageable, and Alex could easily detect sound spikes within this radius.
‘I expected him to be quick, but this is going to be problematic,’ Alex thought as he sensed Tsolmir finally beginning his offense.
Tsolmir could see that Alex had created a controlled environment to limit the range of his attack, but he had no plan to play by his rules.
As the battle began, Tsolmir made multiple areas ring with nearly identical sound frequencies, and before Alex could pinpoint his location, Tsolmir had already delivered several echo slashes.
The sound slashes big and small, sliced through the expanse of darkness at sonic speed, aiming to shred Alex apart, and before he dealt with the first waves, new ones were rushing at from a different angle.
Alex predicted their trajectories using the void sense and countered them with his own slashes, and for those that passed through his own wave of counter slashes, he evaded them by shifting away using the void step.
Alex remained within the radius he created, knowing that meeting Tsolmir head-on outside this area would lead to a quick death.
But even staying inside offered little safety as the slashes that slipped past his defenses and forced him to party exploded into shockwaves.
However, as there was always a small window where he could detect the change in sound frequency, Alex used it to defend himself by using his chaos wings.
‘Time to end this,’ Alex thought as he clenched his left hand into a fist, a point of darkness growing inside of it.
The small action did not go unnoticed by Tsolmir, but in this fast-paced battle where his sole focus was slicing him to ribbons, he paid it little to no attention.
The battle raged on, and Tsolmir kept on sending wave after wave of sonic spaces, not resorting to any flashy or sophisticated attack.
Even though each slash barely had the strength of a normal sixth-rank attack, because of their speed and incredible slicing ability, they were deadlier than any peak sixth-rank attack.
Alex was delivering dozens of sword slashes each second, and he could feel his muscles burning up, but despite all his efforts, he could only do so much against the slashes raining down at the speed of sound.
Seconds into the final stretch of the battle, Alex was getting overwhelmed and losing the speed contest.
Multiple slashes slipped through his defenses and grazed him or landed clean every passing moment, with some merely exploding into delayed shockwaves while others cleanly cutting through the less defended parts of his armor.
Alex’s entire body bore the marks of these attacks as his face was cut open in multiple places, and each wound a flash wound but wound nonetheless.
His shoulders, legs, arms, abdomen, and even his back were not spared from deep to shallow cuts, drenching him in his own blood, but despite the extreme pain, Alex remained calm and concentrated on his preparation to end this battle.
After a few seconds passed, Alex said ‘Nihility Star’ aloud with a bloodied smile as he opened his firmly clenched fist, and like released its prison, the small point of darkness came alive, exploding silently, releasing a torrent of darkness in all directions.
The newly born darkness was darker than anything present before, and it didn’t drive away the present darkness and cyan energy but erased them from existence.
In an instant, all sources of sound were erased as the entire enclave was purged of all elemental aspects except the purest form of darkness.
Tsolmir quickly realized that he was in deep trouble and quickly tried to move out of the darkness, but with no sound present and none being generated even when he clanged floating rings together, he was left with no choice but to move using his floating ability.
“You are not going anywhere,” Alex said, but even his voice was erased by the darkness as it left his mouth.
Unbound by speed limitations, Alex disappeared, reappearing before the distressed Tsolmir, his blade pulsing with unified intent fueled by the erasing darkness.
Alex looked directly into Tsolmir’s white, pupilless eyes as he delivered an overhead slash, and the blade met no resistance, cleaving through the terrified entity.
The Feybound form wavered as bone-white skin faded with the fairy, leaving behind Tsolmir, who had his eyes widened in disbelief as the two halves of his body fell to the ground.
Tsolmir could not believe how quickly the tables had turned, from being certain of his victory to feeling whether his opponent was even trying his best in the battle.
Tsolmir would not find an answer to this question for a long time because Alex had decided not to use the Monarch aura, at least not until his very realm life was at stake.
Alex was blooded from head to toe, and as his natural recovery healed his wounds, he took a profound breath as he watched the life fade away from the eyes of Tsolmir before his entire body vanished, taken to the void of recovery before he was sent to the nearest city.
Alex took deep breaths as the darkness around him began to fade, the enclave dissipating, followed by the entire darkness as the nihility star burned itself out.
Alex took some genuine damage in this battle, and a few times, he was a millimeter away from having his neck sliced clear and dying, but while his body was battered and bloodied, he stood victorious.
‘It’s about time I leave this forest and find a city,’ Alex considered as he picked up a milky white token from the pile of items ranging from weapons and armor to scattered gold coins that Tsolmir left behind.
Alex placed the spoils of his combat into his space ring before he left the area, returning to his safehouse to recover before making the trip out of the forest and in search of a city.
