Chapter 656 Difficult Choices
‘ 5 minutes? How generous of the celestials to give me a full five minutes to make some of the most important decisions of my life ‘ Max thought internally but did not dare voice his opinion out loud.
He had arguably some of the best choices for both normal moves and for special moves during this promotion and it had never been a harder choice to select only 2 out of so many good options.
Constant Teleportation was a broken ability; there was no doubt about its practical applications.
His brother used an inferior version of this move in his skill move [ Blink ] where he could only teleport once.
In his brain Max could envision countless scenarios where he could move in to attack once from the front and then suddenly teleport to the back, but use it as a feint and teleport to the front once more and take the enemy by complete surprise.
He could potentially lengthen this series until he got a chance to hit the opponent critically and it was hence a great choice to make.
However, he was hesitant to choose the move only and only because there were equally good options available and the fact that he was primarily not a close range assaulter.
His playstyle was not designed for close range attacking primarily, hence although it was good for increasing versatility, Max felt like he was at a stage in his career as a fighter where it was better for him to build on his strengths rather than learning a little bit of everything.
On the other hand he was sure he wanted to choose Constant Regeneration as his primary choice because the move made him practically invincible for a total of 2 minutes, healing any damage applied to him.
The reason behind him choosing this skill was two-fold.
In scenarios where he did not have access to a pool of blood or where he could not use his HP potion, for example in the arena of the god’s, he could use the skill to recover from 1% to 100% HP almost instantly.
Secondly, if he was ever caught facing a stronger enemy where he had no chance of striking the opponent without taking a hit himself, this would be the skill that would give him the edge to win such battles.
Since he chose this option, he knew that Subconscious Defence had become redundant. ๐๐๐๐ฃ๐๐๐๐ก๏ผ๐ค๐๐
He could hold his own against the opponent for a smaller time frame of two minutes through sheer immortality cheat, and since he only had one option to go with it, he needed to go for subconscious offence since it would pair perfectly with the constant regeneration to give him a brief period of flurry where he could potentially rule the battlefield as a mad unstoppable force of nature.
It was a decision he took purely because the two moves together gave him a far greater synergy than other moves in the list, but if he evaluated the merits of each move individually, Constant Suppression and Subconscious Defence were equally good choices to make.
” I’ll choose Constant Regeneration and Subconscious Offence as my normal choices ” Max informed the celestial since he had no system screen to tap on.
” Very wellโฆ ” the voice replied emotionlessly as Max felt the knowledge of the two moves flooding his mind as he learnt all the intricate details of how to cast them.
With his system screen still unavailable, he could only assume he had learnt how to do the move, but he had no means to confirm that he did.
Not wasting time thinking about it at the moment since he had only five minutes to choose in total of which he has spent 3 evaluating the normal moves, he had to hurry and think about what special moves to choose.
Cosmic Starblast sounded like his dream attack that the biggest hero of a show would use as his ultimate attack.
The all-powerful attack that could tear apart planets. However, as an adult Max understood that despite all the undeniable pro’s of the attack, the biggest con it had was it’s unbelievably long activation time of 4 minutes.
Yes, if he wanted to become a destroyer/ conqueror type figure he could use this move to force a monarchs hand to personally come and face him in combat, but other than that Max could just not think of any practical scenario where he would be given 4 minutes to activate an attack.
Even now when god’s had small activation times of 10-30 seconds in battle, it was the time they were the most vulnerable or it was enough time for the enemy to prepare a counter-attack of their own.
In such a world if he took 4 minutes, there was no doubt in his mind that he would be dead.
Hence he decided to pass on the move despite knowing that if conditions permitted it’s use, it was probably the best attack on the entire list.
Unstoppable Assault on the other hand sounded like a dream come true.
2 hours of unlimited stamina, plus a 50% buff in strength and speed was a fighter’s dream.
If this was coupled with his constant regeneration and subconscious assault, it would just become the deadliest combo possible, but even on its own when in the middle of an intense fight whether one vs one or one vs all, it could ensure that Max’s performance would not dip and would give him the edge to wreak havoc like only a god could.
It was a no brainer for him to choose.
The next choice, Celestial Command also sounded very practical and the fact that it could make even a monarch flinch meant that if used correctly, it could give even someone like Max a chance to create an opening and aim for a monarchs neck which would otherwise be impossible.
However, compared to Primal Domain it just paled in benefit comparison.
To have complete control of all basic elements plus space, time and gravity meant that Max would be the undisputed ruler of the domain he was in where he could even bring a dozen tier6 god’s to their knees even if he was fighting alone.
It was a broken ability beyond what common sense permitted and probably the biggest windfall skill of this entire choice list.
Compared to the normal section, he felt that the choice in the special one were much simpler to make this time around as he notified the celestial of his decision.
” I choose Unstoppable Assault and Primal Domain as my choices from the special list ” Max informed.
” Hmmm, not bad ” the celestial voice responded as it transferred the knowledge of these two moves to Max as well.
Once the process of transference was over, the pressure that Max felt from the looming aura of the celestial vanished as he was left alone alongside his spaceship, free to leave the realm as he pleased.

/// A/N – First of all I want to thank all of you for voting, I’ve tried to reply everyone that their vote is tallied but webnovel glitched somewhere in between and I can’t post more comments in the chapter.
But rest assured they are all tallied.
In one of the most bizzare voting results of all time
Constant Regeneration, Constant Suppression, Subconscious Defence and Subconscious Offence all got a same voting total of 19 votes while Constant Teleportation was close behind at 17
I’ve used my personal discretion to make a choice since this was the decision pool ///
