Chapter 1169 The Imperial Alchemist Returns
1169 The Imperial Alchemist Returns
Meltierre Empire, within the Meltierre Heavenly Court.
Whoosh!
Appearing in her own room once more, Mystia took a while to realize that she’d returned, taking a bit more after that to readjust to her current surroundings. Considering the fact that she’d spent over a week and a half at some other place besides her workspace, such a reaction was not too surprising.
Then again, the same could be said for the other people that were just as ‘unlucky’ as her, having gone through the Rise to Prominence to the very end.
“In any case, I’ve gained more than I thought I would from that place.” Taking in a few deep breaths to compose herself, Mystia then went through all of the gains she obtained during the tournament.
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
Conjuring a spatial rift above her table, she willed the rewards she got from the second to fifth round to come out, prompting four bottles containing ingredients of various shapes and sizes to appear not long after.
Briefly taking a look at the items she received, a faint smile appeared on Mystia’s face as she found it both wondrous and peculiar that they had the ability to form a concoction that combined the individual effects of the four items together.
Though, she let out a chuckle not long after, certain that she’d spend the next few days or weeks attempting to make similar items from scratch.
Then, once she got the knack behind the creation of those items, she’d try to incorporate the mechanics behind the items into some of the potions and elixirs she concocted.
“Fortunately, I’ve been given the opportunity to jump through a couple of the necessary hoops in advance.” As the thought came to mind, she then willed another item to come out of the spatial rift, prompting a few documents to appear beside the four bottles she brought out.
Looking at the multiple diagrams and annotations that were written on the documents, Mystia could not help but think back to the moment Scho’doxa transported her back to her arena after meeting Valyr.
Whoosh!
Although she’d long accepted the fact that she sacrificed her chance at greater rewards for Valyr’s sake, there was still a small part of her that felt indignant towards the situation.
After all, in a world where the law of the jungle was greatly prevalent, being able to swiftly one’s strength was always more than welcome.
Thankfully, just as she thought she’d actually leave the tournament empty-handed after getting so far into the challenge, Scho’doxa sent her a mental note just as she was being sent back.
‘Unfortunately, I’ll be having you stay in this place for just a bit longer.’
‘That’s because I’ve come up with a new reward for you.’
With that, it went without saying that Mystia’s eyes widened in surprise, which Valyr quickly took note of just as she was sent back.
Once back at her own arena, she began to ponder over what kind of reward he’d give to her, finding it somewhat odd that the man would go out of his way to keep her reward from Valyr a secret.
Luckily, her question was more or less answered by the time Scho’doxa appeared in her arena a few minutes later.
“I’ll be teaching you how to make a more basic version of the final concoction.”
Hearing those words, Mystia could only look at the man with wide eyes in response, not expecting even in her wildest speculations that she’d obtain something like that as a reward.
Of course, she was more than eager to learn how to make such a peculiar concoction, even if the version that was being taught to her was far inferior to what she’d get from the items she received.
With that, Mystia spent an extra day in the tournament, with Scho’doxa teaching her all she needed to know in order to create the concoction she eventually came to know as the Reconstruction Tincture series.
From giving the four items the miraculous effects they had individually, to making sure that the four items would combine together into the final tincture, the man did not hide a single bit of information from her, knowing that she’d make great use of it once she returned.
Aside from that, since she would be the last one to return to Veldanyr, Scho’doxa personally gave her a heads-up on the beings that would appear in the new version, talking about how it was a good idea to keep them in mind while making her next moves.
“…” Closing her eyes for a bit as she thought about the things she learned from Scho’doxa during that time, Mystia let out a faint sigh as she looked at the items she brought once more, only to let out an amused chuckle not long after.
Shaking her head at the thoughts currently lingering in her mind, she briefly reminded herself not to get too engrossed into the new field of alchemy that Scho’doxa introduced to her.
With that, she took in a deep breath once more to compose both her thoughts and emotions, only to bring up a chat screen in front of her after that.
Then, as if she’d practiced her next movements for years on end, she swiftly sent out hundreds of messages to various people in a matter of seconds, all of them asking for updates on the current situation.
Ding! Ding! Ding!
Looking through the responses people sent to her, a large image gradually formed in her mind, prompting Mystia to eventually nod in understanding some time later.
“Well, it’s natural that the mass disappearance of all the beings on the planet would cause multiple abrupt changes to appear,” she said to herself, merely shrugging her shoulders at the things that were beyond her control.
Continuing to look through the responses she was getting thanks to her questions, Mystia’s gaze soon focused on a couple of messages that immediately sparked her interest.
“Due to the unforeseen circumstances brought about by the Rise to Prominence tournament, the Myriad Prodigies Tournament will be postponed to exactly a month after today?”
Reading this message off her screen, it did not take long for Mystia to inform Valyr about it, recalling that she brought up the tournament with him back when they met up for the most recent War Forge Assembly.
“…And I guess that’s that.” Receiving a response from Valyr a couple minutes later, it was only then did Mystia close her screen, allowing her to finally shift her whole focus onto the items and documents she brought out.
Donning a smile akin to what a kid would show when they got their favorite toy, she placed the things she brought out into a nearby satchel before conjuring a rift in front of her that led to the Mystic Plane.
Whoosh!
Then, after making sure the satchel wouldn’t snap midway, she then headed through the rift without hesitation, disappearing from the room without a trace.
