MMORPG: Rise of the Primordial Godsmith

Chapter 249 Bound By Duty

“Power? Where the heck did you get that idea?” Naturally, Tryndall was skeptical of Valyr’s claim, showing through his message that he was incredibly doubtful of what Valyr might tell him. Though, after this message from him, Valyr had not received any messages from Tryndall for quite sometime, prompting him to look back at the five, who seemed to be minding their own business in the meantime.

Fortunately, after what seemed to be a few minutes or so, Valyr finally received a response back from Tryndall, causing a grin to appear on the former’s face as he read through it. “Does your plan have something to do with the group of five that appeared after your duel?”

Laughing for a bit, Valyr replied that Tryndall was correct in his assumption, informing him that they would be the most important element for the plan to succeed. Of course, the latter asked after that as to how Valyr had come to know them, and why they were willing to help the two of them out in a quest that only they had.

With that, Valyr explained to Tryndall that the five were actually from a guild that was trying to recruit him, being told that they were tasked to bring him to where the headquarters of the guild was located, as well as how they were also told to help him out so he could head to the headquarters earlier.

Then again, he made sure to not mention anything about the Imperial Production Guild and the Four Pillars’ Inheritance, even though he felt like Tryndall would have knowledge about it already due to the level of authority he showed that he commanded within the Adventurer’s Guild. To him, he felt that it was best for Tryndall to find that out on his own, considering how a faction of the noble clan was on the lookout for any traces of him.

Of course, Valyr was planning to do the same thing to Arcenne and Wells, which was to give them enough information behind the appearance of the group of five that would satiate their curiosity. Though, after mulling over it for a bit, he felt like Arcenne would probably pester her father for more information regarding the whole ordeal, though he was certain that Aster would take care of that problem on his end.

With Tryndall’s curiosity regarding how the group of five were on board to help them complete the City Quest they both had, the two sent messages back and forth between each other for quite some time, ironing out the parts of the plan that they thought would give the plan away.

Thankfully, it only took around ten minutes or so for them to finalize the plan, allowing the two to return to what they were doing as they reminded each other to meet up later into the night.

Closing up the screen that was in front of his field of vision all this time, Valyr made his way back to where the five were, who all looked back at him with curiosity evident in their expressions. Meeting their gazes, he took in a deep breath before answering the question that probably lingered in their minds.

“Was talking to the other person I’m working with regarding the quest I have to complete.” Hearing these words come out of Valyr’s mouth, the five lightly nodded in response. Though, once they heard the next statement to come out his mouth, the expressions of the five instantly went solemn, even turning slightly grim.π‘›π‘Άπ”³π–Ύπ“΅πž°π”’xt.π‘πš˜πŒ

“Speaking of which, this quest we’re working on is categorized as a City Quest.”

“Care to elaborate on what the City Quest is?” Deciding to take the initiative, Tyrst was the one who asked the question to Valyr, who merely nodded back in response as he started explaining the entire timeline that led him and Tryndall to their current situation.

He started the explanation by introducing the Clossbay Killer quest he had obtained from Damian, and then talked about how he and Tryndall worked together to complete it, only to find out that the Clossbay Killer actually consisted of five people instead of one.

After that, he talked about how the two of them mentioned this to the mayor, only to talk about the mayor’s lack of response soon after. With that, he explained that the two of them took matters into their own hands, collecting more and more information regarding the incident, ending the whole thing with how the two of them suspected Lucas Hekaetos, the one that rebelled against Braum’s wishes earlier, to be the mastermind of the whole operation.

Once Valyr was finished explaining the whole thing, he noticed that the expression the five had were incredibly grim, as if they had just witnessed a massacre before them.

While he was curious as to why that was the case, the five looked at each other for a bit as a few small strands of mana were sent back and forth among one another for quite some time. Eventually, Madeline excused herself from Valyr and the others as she headed towards the entrance, retrieving a small talisman from her pocket before infusing it with mana.

Gazing at where Madeline went for a bit, Valyr then shifted his gaze back to the four that remained, who seemed to already have an idea of what Valyr wanted to find out from them.

“We’re informing the royal palace of the situation you just told us,” Braum told Valyr as he thanked the latter for informing them. “Though we’re part of the 3rd Reconnaissance Regiment of the Imperial Production Guild, all of the large organizations part of the Algerie Kingdom are duty-bound to aid the kingdom in apprehending those in core cities and smaller establishments, specifically the ones that are putting the safety of the majority in jeopardy.”

“In this case, we’re asking for an arrest warrant from the kingdom itself, considering that the mastermind that you’ve just mentioned is the leader of this city’s guard regiment,” he continued. “People like him are considered to have high-level authority, and these people tend to have a lot of ways to escape arrest without punishment. However, with a warrant, even if they find ways to show that they’re not guilty, justice would still be delivered.”

“Of course, if he was someone with middle-level authority or lower, there would be no need for an arrest warrant whatsoever. We could just apprehend him at this very instant.”

“Anyways, that’s something you shouldn’t bother yourself with,” said Braum once he had wrapped up his explanation.

With a hint of curiosity on his face, he then asked Valyr, “So, how are we going to apprehend this person?”

“I’m glad you asked.” In response, a composed smile appeared on Valyr’s face as he began to lay out the plan he and Tryndall had formulated just a couple minutes earlier to the four.

“So, what we’re going to do is…”
