Chapter 774 Four Pillars: Catching Unaware
Chapter 774 Four Pillars: Catching Unaware
?Fwoosh!
At the very moment Valyr spurred the mana within the weapon to come forward, the young man slashed downward with all of his strength, allowing the tip of the blade to make contact with the ground.
Then, just as that happened, the young man activated [Arcane Shadow Warp] once more.
Whoosh!
Before their very eyes, Dawan and Daon watched as Valyr made a nick on the ground with all of his strength before swiftly distancing himself from them.
Confused as to why the young man had not targeted them instead, the answers to their questions eventually revealed themselves once a fiery ball began to swell from where the blade touched the ground.
And it was there that they understood that it wasn’t that Valyr had not targeted them.
Instead, it was the fact that the young man had no need.
Bang!
As if it was emulating the birth of a red giant, the fiery ball rapidly grew in size, the destructive energies inside it enveloping Dawan and Daon within seconds.
In response, the two pushed their barriers to their full potential, infusing the majority of their mana and Intent Energy into it as they kept a bit to themselves as contingency.
With the giant ball of fiery energy continuing to wreak havoc, the twins began to wonder whether the young man was forcing them to make a move through this method.
Though, just as the two felt like they had to extricate themselves from unnecessary damage, the giant fireball disappeared on its own.
Seeing that their sights had returned to what it was before, save for the scorched ground surrounding them, Dawan and Daon instantly kept their eyes peeled as they searched for Valyr’s traces.
But just as they had realized that he was standing not far away from where the fireball was…
Bang!
Before the twins could even comprehend what was going on, the two instantly heard a loud explosion come from Valyr as they felt a dangerous projectile head their way.
Taking note of the great momentum and ferocity hidden within the small projectile Valyr seemed to have sent their way, Dawan and Daon conjured barriers before them once more.
However…
Crash!
Just as the two were in the middle of distancing themselves from the projectile, the tiny thing had made its mark known as it pierced a hole through both of the twins’ barriers at the same time.
Infusing a large amount of mana into their respective barriers in response, Dawan and Daon were left at a slight loss for words after seeing that the hole the projectile had made seemed to be unrepairable.
With that, the two were left with no choice but to allow their barriers to dispel on their own, cracking into a myriad pieces before shattering like glass as they dissipated into thin air.
Wondering whether the young man still had more tricks up his sleeve, the two let out wide sighs of relief after seeing Valyr sitting on the ground, wholly exhausted.
“Man…” The young man slowly caught his breath. “Didn’t even inflict any damage on you two.”
In response, Dawan decided to console them, seeing how the young man utterly spent from both defending and attacking. “I’d say shattering our barriers without us being able to fix it counts as damage.”
“Yeah.” Daon nodded in agreement as he looked at Valyr with slight fear. “What kind of weapon did you use? I had a slight feeling that if I were to get directly hit by it, I would be left with severe injuries.”
At those words, Valyr merely smiled as he showed the arquebus he had forged to the two. “That would be the work of this thing right here.”
Looking at the weapon the young man had shown them, the twins’ eyes widened in surprise as they briefly looked at each other.
Staring at Valyr, Daon asked, “Eh? An arquebus? Has Veldanyr’s level of technology already reached that point?”
Surprised that the two seemed to know what weapon he had shown them, with Daon even giving him verbal proof, Valyr briefly stared at the two with shock before remembering that the two of them were currently away from Veldanyr.
With that, he took in a deep breath before shaking his head.
“No.”
“Then, how…?” Just as Daon was about to ask Valyr more questions, Dawan stopped his twin as he pointed at the young man.
Slightly confused as to what his twin meant by the gesture, Daon still looked at the young man, only to take note of the calm yet confident expression on his face that accompanied the faint smile that traced on the edges of Valyr’s lips.
For a while after that, Daon went silent as he tried to wrap his head around what the young man showed. Thankfully, it did not take long for it to sink in, looking at Valyr with newfound respect.
“Shall we continue?” Though there was a small part of him that wanted to hear more of the twins’ disbelief, Valyr’s expression remained the same after hearing Daon’s words.
Then, with a nod, he prepared for what was about to come.
…
Bang!
Having no choice but to go all out, Daon sent out his attack once more, causing a terrifying wave of force to swiftly appear before the young man’s vision.
In response, the young man activated all of the defensive skills in his arsenal, hoping once more that at least one of them would hold.
Fortunately, this time around, he was more than prepared for the attack that would come at him, activating a few of his empowerment skills to bolster the strength of his defenses.
With that, Valyr was barely able to storm the tides, needing to consume three-quarters of his mana in order to dispel Daon’s [Heaven-rending Tsunami] once and for all.
Glad that he had successfully defended against the full-
strength of a being in the middle levels of Rank 6, the young man decided to borrow that momentum as he gave the twins no time to rest as he unleashed his attack.
Of course, with him using both Supreme Blade of Primeval Blades and his Supreme True Arquebus in his previous attack, the young man knew that the two had prepared themselves to see it again.
Unfortunately for them, the young man had more terrifying skills in his arsenal.
Such as the one he would conjure next.
“[Arcane Shadow Serpent Magic Style].”
“[Consummatum Est].”
