Chapter 801 Four Pillars: The Power of Knowledge
Chapter 801 Four Pillars: The Power of Knowledge
“Mngh…”
After what felt like an incredibly long time, Valyr gradually returned to the waking world as he gradually sat upright.
While doing so, he tried to recall what had just happened, only for him to feel like his entire body had been rolled over by a hundred boulders.
However, the pain did not stop there, with Valyr feeling like his mind was gonna break apart at any moment.
As this great level of pain washed over his body, the young man began to take in a few deep breaths as he gave the pain the time it needed to subside.
Fortunately, it only took around 15 minutes or so for all of the pain to eventually disappear, allowing Valyr to let out a deep sigh of relief.
Feeling cold sweat cover his entire body from the experience, a wry smile adorned the young man’s face as he tried to go over what just happened once more.
With there being no pain assailing him anymore, Valyr eventually recalled everything that transpired, causing him to let out a bitter chuckle not long after.
“I let my excitement get the better of me,” muttered Valyr to himself, closing his eyes after that as he gave himself more time to rest.
After all, he had unlocked all of the advancements he could get at the moment from the Age of Scientific Revolution in one go.
And something like that would normally have been done over a far longer span of time than he took to achieve the same result.
Though he did fall unconscious at some point, Valyr still felt like the trade-off was more than worth it with how much time and Technology Points he had saved.
Letting out a long exhale as he opened his eyes, Valyr gradually stood up as he brought up his notification screen.
Ding!
Seeing the usual list of notifications that came along with such a situation, a satisfied smile unknowingly crept up on the young man’s face.
[You have received an inordinate amount of information from a mysterious source.]
[All Basic-level and Intermediate-level advancements making up the Age of Scientific Revolution on the Technology Tree’s Innovation branch have been unlocked and upgraded to their max levels.]
“Even if I were to leave the inheritance at this point, I would have no qualms whatsoever,” said the young man to himself, feeling a bit giddy at the fact that his current technological knowledge would allow him to achieve wonders back in Veldanyr.
Taking a deep breath to calm his emotions down, the young man soon closed his notification screen before opening up his Technology Tree.
Taking a look at the amount of progress he had made so far, a satisfied grin appeared on his face as he stared at the now massive branch that was the Innovation branch.
With how each subsequent age prompted him to unlock more and more advancements, the Innovation branch had veered away from its original fan-shaped layout.
Instead, the branch filled with advancements now more resembled the synapse and neural connections in a brain, with each unlocked advancement on it glowing as if it were the core of that knowledge.
Moving his attention away from the Innovation branch, Valyr’s attention soon fell onto the Production branch, nodding in satisfaction as he had unlocked and maxed all of the major advancements that was available to him at his current rank.
‘Aside from unlocking all of the minor advancements I’ve missed, the next set of important advancements would appear by the time I reach Rank 5,’ thought the young man to himself, rummaging through his treasure trove of memories to see if his thoughts were correct.
Feeling like he still had a decently long amount of time to amass all of the Technology Points he needed for the advancements, Valyr soon found his eyes hovering over the Combat branch.
“Man…” At the very moment gazed upon the branch in question, a bitter smile subconsciously appeared on the young man’s face.
Unlike the Production branch, which had all of the major advancements he would need unlocked, Valyr’s Combat branch only had a few advancements on it that were unlocked.
All of the Basic-level advancements at that.
Aside from that, these Basic-level advancements were all still at the base level, reminding Valyr that he had unlocked all of these advancements back when he had participated in a monster tide for the first time.
“I should really focus on this some more,” said the young man to himself at this point, making a mental note of it as he closed the Technology Tree.
At his current rank, there were a great number of advancements he could unlock in the Combat branch.
Add on the fact that he had begun to dabble in magic, as well as in firearms, his choice of advancements had also expanded, allowing the Combat branch to be at least twice as large as the Production branch if he unlocked all of them.
Unfortunately, with the spending spree he had gone through in the past to unlock the knowledge needed to forge firearms, he was only left with a pitiful amount of Technology Points that wouldn’t even be enough to unlock a single Basic-level advancement.
“Note to self: Focus on the Combat branch first before the Production branch once you get out of here.” After reminding himself of the thought over and over again, the young man soon began to move once more as he walked around the third floor.
Searching for where the entrance to the secret room was located, Valyr eventually found himself standing in front of one of the pillars holding up the third floor.
Looking at the other pillars that held up the third floor, the young man noticed that the pillar before him was quite redundant in terms of structure.
Somewhat unsure that this pillar held the passage to the secret room he sought to enter, Valyr eventually mustered up the courage to push it aside.
Rumble…
Surprisingly, the pillar began to move to the side, causing the young man’s eyes to widen in slight disbelief as a narrow passageway was gradually revealed to him.
With the passageway reminding him of the secret passage he found back at the Enlightenment Material Cache, the young man took in a deep breath as he entered it.
“What thing would even be stored in this secret room?” With the passageway to the secret room being surprisingly longer than he initially thought, Valyr began to think about the possible things that he would find once he stepped foot into it.
Having gone through the Enlightenment Material Cache situation before, the young man felt that there was a high chance that the secret room might house yet another Shard of Defiance.
With how he already had two of them fused together in the depths of mind, Valyr was slightly curious as to what kind of difference a third shard would do to the shard that was already in his mind.
Aside from that, there were a couple other possibilities in his mind with regards to what kind of thing the secret room would house.
It was either he would obtain knowledge on the Second Industrial Revolution…
Or he would unlock all of the advancements related to the First Industrial Revolution.
Whether it was the former or the latter, Valyr knew that the opportunity would definitely change a lot of things regarding his approach on things so far.
If he were to obtain knowledge on the Second Industrial Revolution, then he could use the Technology Points he gained along the way to get his hands on machinery that would be closer to the modern age of technology.
On the other hand, if he were to unlock all of the advancements regarding the First Industrial Revolution, it would allow him to readily make use of the technology to shape Veldanyr’s landscape to where he was at a massive advantage.
After all, how could one beat the power of military weaponry, mass production, and electricity in a world where technology had only reached the latter portion of the Early Middle Ages?
With these three possibilities lingering in his mind, two of them were instantly discarded as Valyr stared at the pedestal at the center of the somewhat small room.
“I guess I’m gonna have to take a long nap again,” said Valyr with a wry chuckle.
Moving closer to the pedestal, the young man steeled himself for what was to come as he placed his hand on it.
Ding!
[Would you like to unlock all Advancements related to the First Industrial Revolution?]
Looking at the prompt that appeared before him, Valyr took in a composing breath before accepting it.
Whoosh!
Within seconds, a great amount of information soon entered his mind, with some of them working off of the knowledge he had already obtained after unlocking advancements related to the Age of Scientific Revolution.
As for the majority of the knowledge, they expounded on the knowledge he had already received on the First Industrial Revolution, introducing him to various blueprints, concepts, and the like that caused the gears in his mind to turn on overdrive.
Unfortunately, just like what had happened before, the young man eventually fell unconscious after having his mind be bombarded by what could only be classified as a raging tsunami of information.
Though, unlike his experience before he entered the secret room, Valyr woke up quite faster than expected, only falling unconscious for what felt like a few hours at most.
On top of that, he felt no pain all over his body whatsoever.
At most, he only felt a splitting headache, which eventually subsided after getting some rest for a few minutes.
Taking some time to process and organize the information he had just received, Valyr took a look at his notifications once more, smiling after seeing that he had indeed unlocked all of the advancements under the First Industrial Revolution.
Ding!

Getting up from the floor, the young man soon made his way out of the secret room, exiting the True Blacksmith Archive itself sometime later.
Then, once he was at the entrance, he took in the sight of the entire courtyard before going over his thoughts for a bit.
After a moment of silence, he then began to head towards a building within the courtyard, its location somewhat away from the usual paths.
“Now that I’ve obtained all I need from the archive…”
“Time to take a look at the opportunity the Gates of Awakening has given me.”
“…”
“The Realm of Myriad Experiences, huh…”
