Chapter 831 Four Pillars: Braiding Energies
Chapter 831 Four Pillars: Braiding Energies
‘As suspected,’ thought Valyr to himself as he read through the series of notifications he had received. ‘I awakened the Intent Seed of the Four Elements.’
Before even getting his hands on the Intent Seed of Shadow Energy or the two other Intent Seeds he had that were related to forging, Valyr already had an idea of the Intent Seeds that he was close to obtaining.
In total, he had five potential Intent Seeds he could obtain, all of them having something to do with the fact that he used them quite often.
The first three among those five potential seeds had already been obtained thanks to the intervention of the Gates of Enlightenment and Awakening.
As for the remaining two, those were none other than the Intent Seed of the Spear and the Intent Seed of the Four Elements, having something to do with his combat style in the past before having Shadow Energy become his go-to.
Considering how he had been using magic related to the four elements quite often while he still did not know how to work around the curse affecting him and his spear, it made a lot of sense that his understanding regarding it and its interaction with mana had deepened.
In fact, the two bouts of epiphany he had gotten from viewing the blue star had prompted that understanding to deepen even further, making Valyr feel as if the four foundational elements were inexplicably linked to mana.
Then again, in a way, they kind of were, with the understanding that allowed him to obtain the Intent Seed in the first place showing the four main avenues that mana could take under the four elements.
Then, after he had awakened his Intent Seed of the Four Elements, his understanding went even deeper, showcasing a great number of branches the four foundational elements contained when combined with mana.
Of course, most of those branches headed down a path that only focused on the main element, bolstering a part of the element that seemed more fitting for them.
However, there were also branches that combined two or three elements together, showing Valyr paths that were as strong or even stronger than the solitary paths that dominated the four avenues.
Looking at the multiple possibilities these four main avenues had, it was there that Valyr understood that their concept was quite similar to the concept of mana itself.
Just like mana, the four elements was boundless, containing a myriad number of possibilities even thought it originally had such simple natures.
Taking in a few deep breaths to compose himself, Valyr closed up his screen as he committed all of his understandings just now to memory.
Then, closing his eyes for a bit, he extended one of his hands before conjuring a flame of mana.
“[Intent Seed of the Four Elements].”
Calling upon the power of his newfound Intent Seed, Valyr then noticed that his mana had taken on a few distinct flavors, switching between them every once in a while.
At times, his mana felt destructive and fiery. At others, his mana felt as malleable as clay.
There were also times where his mana felt ephemeral in nature, then there were times where his mana felt as solid as a rock.
“The four elements.” Watching Valyr experiment with the new Intent Seed he had just comprehended, a solemn expression appeared on Sellifer’s face as she thought about how it would affect the young man’s journey to achieving the Azure Trace.
Though, just like Valyr, she eventually thought that such a problem was better left dealt at a later time.
After all, even though it was not the Intent she thought Valyr would comprehend in relation to mana, it was still an Intent that had a lot to do with it.
“You really have unbelievable luck, Valyr,” said the woman after the young man was done tinkering with his new Intent Seed. “Just as I said you’d need an Intent that would act as a balance to the Intent related to Shadow Energy, you went ahead and comprehended one.”
“It was bound to happen sooner or later.” In response, Valyr merely smiled, telling her that he used to play around with the four foundational elements in the past before gaining access to Shadow Energy.
Being reminded once more of the Zeihardt clan’s ancestor in the young man’s feats, Sellifer pushed those thoughts to the side as she told him to return to improving the quality of both energies to 2nd Cleansing.
With the situation regarding the newly obtained Intent Seed now out of the way, it did not take long for Valyr to enter the void that housed his mana once more, this time focusing all of his attention on purifying his mana.
With the goal of 2nd Cleansing more or less improving the state of the blue star revolving in the center of the void, it only took Valyr quite some time to achieve the improvement to 2nd Cleansing.
Though, compared to the months Sellifer toiled to get to the same level, it only took a couple of weeks for the young man to achieve the same feat, having to ensure that every nook and cranny of the blue star was kept in mind.
Of course, armed with experience in achieving 2nd Cleansing, it took Valyr far less time to do the same thing for Shadow Energy.
Realizing that it had only taken less than a month in total for Valyr to bring both of his energies up to the stage of 2nd Cleansing, it took Sellifer the better part of a day to calm herself down, feeling immense jealousy at the level of talent Valyr had.
‘Then again, he is a Zeihardt,’ thought Sellifer to herself, consoling herself with such a thought.
Nevertheless, after he had pushed both energies to the stage of purity Sellifer tasked him to achieve, he then worked on braiding the energies together in his skills.
Being forced to push Shadow Energy into areas filled with mana while doing the same vice versa in areas filled with Shadow Energy, Valyr’s progress in doing so was quite slow.
However, with the help of Sellifer showing him what he needed to do, the phase where he needed to undergo trial and error was greatly cut down.
In fact, she had even shown him his [Arcane Shadow Bolt] in the form of having both energies braided, showing Valyr firsthand how far more destructive and far more efficient the skill was with the energies braided.
With that, Valyr spent more and more time braiding his energies together, gradually forgetting the existence of Hal and Vera as he gave it his all to achieve what would basically improve his combat prowess by a whole tier.
Fortunately, after spending a total of three months on the barren grounds, Valyr finally understood the trick to the concept, allowing him to finally braid the two energies as he infused them into his skills.
“[Arcane Shadow Serpent Magic Style].”
“[Arcane Shadow Bolt]!”
Bang!
