Feeling like he’d gotten a good idea of what he needed to do to complete the 2nd stage of the Records, Valyr began to mobilize the energy within his body, moving it towards the part
where the Records needed it to be.

With how the pathways he’d created for the 1st stage of the Records involved the three dominant energies within his body, Valyr decided to do the same thing for the 2nd stage as well, making use of Prime Azure Energy to begin laying the foundations.
‘The 1st stage of the Records involves the recreation and reinforcement of pathways made out of one’s energy,’ thought Valyr to himself, going over the knowledge in his mind as he slowly brought his Prime Azure Energy near the formed pathways.
‘The reason why the Records forces one to form these pathways first is because the pathways act as the communication system for one’s entire body.’
‘Only with that would it be possible for one to begin truly recreating one’s body from scratch,’ inwardly muttered Valyr to himself.
Of course, the pathways Valyr had in mind were vastly different from the pathways that the Outer and Inner Realm Scripture needed him to form on the surface of his skin.
If anything, the pathways that the Records mentioned were actually the neural pathways within one’s body.
After realizing this, Valyr was initially confused as to why the neural pathways were the ones being created first.
After all, from what he could recall, it was more common for techniques or skills that involved the body to either focus on the skin then work one’s way inward, or focus on the bone marrow then work’s one way outward.
Thankfully, the parts of the body that the Records needed him to form at every stage was ordered in a way where he could see the underlying intention of the entire technique.
“The first to third stages involve the creation of the foundation.’
With this thought in mind, Valyr began to move his Prime Azure Energy in an abstruse pattern, making one feel as if the energy within his body was forming a rune of some sort.
‘The fourth to sixth stages expand upon that foundation, proceeding in the creation of the whole human figure.’
After some time, the energy within his body seemingly completed the rune he was forming, which gave Valyr the ability to infuse his energy at a spot that would normally be left
untouched by any sort of energy.
The bone marrow.
“Mngh…” Letting out a muffled grunt of pain as he felt Prime Azure Energy slowly course through his bone marrow, Valyr took in a deep breath as he gave himself time to adjust to the new sensation he was feeling.
Then again, the sensation was anything but positive, making the young man feel as if hundreds to thousands of needles were being pierced deep inside his body multiple times in a
row.
Nevertheless, the young man gritted his teeth, distracting his mind from the pain as he continued to mobilize his energy while thinking about the records.
‘Once the human figure is complete, one can then move to the seventh to ninth stage, which deals with the concept of the soul and the spirit.’
Taking in deep breaths every once in a while, Valyr continued to push more and more Prime Azure Energy in his bone marrow, feeling it slowly undergo a similar transformation to the pathways he’d formed in the 1st stage.
‘Then, the last stage involves the manifestation of both the body and the spirit, allowing one to be reborn anew as a higher-tiered being of the universe.’
‘Sadly, those other stages are still far away from me,’ thought the young man to himself, focusing most of his attention on his breathing as the sensation of energy burrowing into his bone marrow continued to proliferate throughout his body.
‘If anything, I’m still at the stages of foundation.’
‘If the 1st stage wanted me to reform and reinforce my neural pathways, then the 2nd stage wants me to reform and reinforce my bone marrow, and by extension, my bones through the same process.’
‘At least the process isn’t that hard,’ inwardly murmured Valyr to himself, feeling that the superior quality of Prime Azure Energy in comparison to mana was definitely helping speed up the process of him completing the 2nd stage.
Unfortunately, the agonizing pain brought about by the same energy gradually replacing his bone marrow made him only realize that fact many hours later, when the Prime Azure Energy had fully settled themselves within his bone marrow.
“Haah… haah…” Letting out a long sigh of relief now that he’d reformed his bone marrow with Prime Azure Energy, Valyr gave himself time to catch his breath as he prepared himself for the next few steps in completing the 2nd stage.
“I still have to do the same thing with mana and Void Energy,” muttered the young man to himself, knowing that reforming and reinforcing his bone marrow and bones with just one type of energy was enough to be considered a success according to the Records.
However, with how he’d inadvertently formed and reinforced his neural pathways with three types of energies during the 1st stage, Valyr got the feeling that the effects of the Records would be more pronounced if he were to do it for all stages.
Aside from that, he thought that it would be best for him to finish what he’d already started.
Taking in a deep breath once more, Valyr began to do the same thing through his mana and Void Energy, circulating the energy within his body in a way that allowed it to form a rune of some sort.
Then, using that rune as a gateway, he began infusing mana and Void Energy into his bone marrow, overlapping with the Prime Azure Energy that had already settled where his bone marrow originally was.
Of course, doing the process two more times than he needed to brought Valyr an immense amount of pain.
But fortunately, all of it paid off by the time the sun rose once more.

Though he’d noticed that it was already the next day, Valyr continued to focus most of his attention inward, utilizing the runes he’d formed at the beginning to reinforce what he’d
reformed.
‘Ever since I began the reinforcement process, I’ve noticed that my bones have also begun to reform in accordance to the energy I’ve infused.’
Keeping an eye on his internals as he continued to infuse his energy into his bones, Valyr thought about the things that occurred while proceeding through the 2nd stage.
From his first reinforcement through Prime Azure Energy to his second reinforcement through mana, Valyr noticed that his bones were becoming sturdier with every infusion, now getting a better idea of how the 2nd stage of the Records truly came to be.
‘As long as I finish this last reinforcement with Void Energy, I would have successfully completed the 2nd stage of the Records.’
With that in mind, the young man continued what he was doing, sensing that both his bone marrow and the bones all over his body were greedily accepting the Void Energy he was infusing through the rune to refine themselves.
Eventually, both his bone marrow and bones reached their culmination point, which prompted the system to give him a notification in response some time later.
Rumble…
At the same time, Valyr felt his entire body rumble all of a sudden, causing him to feel a hint of panic as he wondered what was going on.
Thankfully, the strength that began to circulate throughout his body after the rumbling eased his worries, prompting the young man to faintly smile as he closed his eyes to sense all of the changes happening within his body.
Whoosh!
“Was that… what I think it was?” Feeling like he’d unearthed all of the latent strength he could, Valyr eventually opened his eyes, only to notice that his skin was covered in a thin layer
of dark impurities.
Smiling at the sight of the impurities, the young man had a few ideas in mind as to what it was, pushing them to the side for the meantime as he made his way to the bathroom to clean
himself.
Changing into a new set of clean clothes once he was done, the young man opened up his notification screen after that, allowing him to finally confirm the suspicions he had a few moments after he felt strength course throughout his body.

After all, he’d been told by Vaughn that he’d only be able to ascend his species to High Human once he’d completed the 3rd stage of the Records.
Though he was confident that the reason why his species ascended so early was due to his use of three types of energies to do the same thing, Valyr decided to shelf such questions for the meantime, instead focusing his thoughts on what his current species could do. With that, he commanded the system to bring up information on his now current species, eager to see what kind of changes had been made in comparison to his previous species. However, as he began to read through its description, the young man’s smile gradually turned into a frown, only for his face to turn grim by the time he was done reading.
