Chapter 372: A New Start – End of Volume 3
“Are the others alive?” I asked, resting my head upon her shoulder.
“Little Ygg, teleported many away, but half of Midgard is gone.” Said Adrienne carrying a hesitant grimace the moment she touched upon the Spear of Noctem.
“You disapprove?” I inquired, lifting Lilith to her feet. Interlocking our arms, my vision slowly began to fade as the crest within my soul began to glimmer. Revealing fragmented images of past events, causing the hairs upon my back to rise.
interlocking her arms in mine, she turned to me, “Let’s Go.”
“What of the demons, here? And you two do realize a legion will be after you two? The Angels are not kind bings.”
“Ygg will handle it.” I whispered softly, “She will forever be this realm’s lord. And apparently friends with Levi-chan. So unless this wish for with demons, devils, and Noctem, I would suggest they back off.”
‘Are you saying?”
“yes. Tell them, tell everyone that Arsene Snow is the new Prince of Noctem. We are, after all, already at war; I see no reason as to hide my status.” I coldly told, meeting Adrienne’s passionate gaze, “Now then, teleport us. I will communicate with them after Lilith and I… pass.”
Faintly smiling, she stared at Lilith and then me, “I will take you all to a nice realm. Till you two are ready to leave. And buck up. It’s not so bad. Think of it as waking up but being different.”
“By that logic, I could wake up and say I am gay. I am losing my entire identity for a known one, not based on past expressed but on my most inner instincts.
Pausing for a moment, Adrienne shrugged, “Well, think of it this way, little Prince, if you turn gay. I am coming for your wife.”
Clenching my teeth, Adrienne flashed me a smile as Lilith giggled in my arms. “I like you. It’s nice to meet you.”
“Same to you Lilith, my name is Adrienne. But I am sure Arsene will introduce me later. For now, relax. You two will need it.” She said, waving towards us just as I rushed to speak.
“Fine, Ren! Baphomet is after him. Deliver him for me!”
Vanishing along with Lilith in my arms, we suddenly appeared within a cabin near a lake. Feeling the air, simply based upon the sea breeze, Lilith’s expression became more downcasted.
“Shall we see if there is a peer?” She weakly asked, squeezing my hand with her trembling arms.
Holding her firmly, we stepped out towards the setting moon. Capturing the marvelous crafted wooden peer connected to the cottage, we approached as though we were elderly.
Feeling like every step was beginning to tighten, I could not help but frown, “It would seem we forgot my brother and the messages.”
“I would say not,” A voice suddenly stated at the head of the peer out fishing as if everything was normal. Recognizing his tone, to be the one I spoke to within my castle.
Wabbling with each step, the man with long grey hair turned to me smiling. “To think III would be so pathetic.” He said with a slight mocking grin, completely different from before.
“III? A code name?” I replied, arriving by his side. Helping Lilith and myself down, a heavy sigh escaped my lips, “Not today.” I said, not really caring at this point.
“Come now, after all that work your brother and Zero did?” He sadly muttered, “But we understand, but it needed to happen this way.”
Struggling to breathe, Lilith held my bloody tunic, placing her head against my shoulder; her breathing began to become shallow.
“I will make it quick. Everything here was done. Your torment, even Liliths torment, was all planned by your brother. She was more improvised, but we figured it was the best course of action.”
“Why?”
“Your Spearmanship already shows it.” he lightly muttered, causing me to remember the year of blood. Recalling how my Spearmanship seemed to grow so different as if different people created them, I understood what he meant.
“It happened to me as well, and god damn it, I kicked your little brother in the balls. The little bastard, but he did it for us. So I will answer three of your questions.”
“Lilith… Is she the All?”
I asked, turning my gaze towards the handsome man smiling back at me. Opening her eyes, Lilith as well seemed to open her eyes in an attempt to hear.
“She is… She was never the daughter of the Abyss but, in fact, the manifestation of said Will that grew envious of God’s Creation… I guess you can say The One is her father or maybe an uncle.” He stated, holding me in his stare.
“But I’m so weak?” Lilith muttered as drool began to trickle down her lips, and her eyes slowly began to dim.
“You will never have your original power unless you die and return to your original nature. This is not a theory but an absolute fact. So I suggest you stay alive; if you die, it will not just be your ego that will vanish but your very existence. You will return to a will and nothing more.” The Stranger stated with a kind smile.
“I see.” Lilith faintly muttered, growing silent once more.
“Who was I?”
“Your name… well, I’m not at liberty to say, but you always went by the code name Arsene, and funny enough, that is what it was decided. However, your last name was the name of your mother. Her name was Yuki, and You were a warrior and my rival.” he said, carrying a look that reflected sadness.
“Who died first?” I gently asked in a mocking light, feeling a little competitive for some reason.
Smirking, his left eye twitched, “It was about the same time. We died side by side. You may remember, one day. V said that specific memory will return when you become a god.”
Nodding, my body began to shutter as I felt my mind being to turn milky.
“Arsene… Brother, you must find a way to unseal Iluthath. We paid a large price. You can save your question for another time, but for now, just remember that. Remember that the price that was paid was one that we all had paid. Your brother now stands with those whose very name would shatter this very realm yet, even they lower their heads before him. However, the price he and his wife paid still plagues them. It plagues us all.”
“…What… was…”
“To quote a very famous woman, ‘spoilers!’ he said, vanishing from my sight before I even knew it.
Taking no offense, I lifted Lilith’s head, pointing towards the amber star, “Look, Lilith the Morningstar.”
