Chapter 397: Monolith
Chapter 397: Monolith
Carrying Lilith on my back, I proceeded up the endless stairs covered in dust and webs when a strange feeling began to give rise within. It was weird, especially with the tyrannical sword intent growing by the second.
Lilith was warm to the touch, but my body was icy. I had not noticed, but the longer I held Lilith upon my back the more, I began to sense, something was wrong. The dark ether around me was rich, and powerful making me feel at home, but with Lilith on me, I felt somewhat out of place.
“Young Master, Abaddon, a word please,” Li Su asked, silently stepping past Yu Jing without her noticing. “It is a little late, but allow me to introduce myself formally. I am Sir Li Su, of the house Li. An ancient House of Knights who are in service by the great House of Yu since its creation.”
“Sup! Just Abaddon,’ I replied, enjoying the young knight’s face twitch. “So, what can I do for you?”
“I wish to know if your interest in your majesty Yu Jing is that of courtship or not.”
“HUH?”
“Are you seriously asking me if I want to bang your princess?” I questioned, baffled at how we even came to this topic, “My wife is on my back. The hell is wrong with you?”
“A man can have multiple wives,” Li Su fired back, without shame, “It is not uncommon to see some with over a hundred. Lord Chu Meng is the perfect example. I hear he has an entire world just for his woman—I believe he is at a count of seven million.”
“Damn! That bastard is really living the dream, Seven million? Is he kidnapping them? Or are they just falling on his cock?” I muttered, feeling a hint of killing intent rising from the demon on my back, “And you wake up! Your heavy.”
“Don’t think I will not push you off these spiraling stairs, snow. I will enjoy it watching you fall.” Lilith vengefully said, “although, I am pretty interested in a three, maybe four or five-way.”
Rolling my eyes, I suddenly smiled, “Maybe Levi-chan may be interested… Wait! Wait!” I suddenly shouted as I felt Lilith trying to push me off the stairs to the abyss below. “It’s a damn joke! Relax! You’re the apple of my eye, babe!” I rapidly screamed,
Puffing her lips, Lilith scuffed, pulling me back from the spiraling edge. Cursing the idiots never thought to put up arm rails, I sighed.
“It seems you recovered quite a bit.” I faintly muttered, wrapping my arms around her.
“hm~!” she hummed in response, “That was a close call, but how did you survive that attack?”
“I have no idea; there are some gaps in my memory. I remember kicking you out the way, but not the blast. when I came to, I was on the ground, but by then, I fainted once more after you used that powerful Arte.” I bitterly explained before pointing towards Yu Jing, who was still in a deep trance of meditation. “She wants that, Arte you used.”
“Well, unless she has Qi from heaven and Hell, that is impossible,” Lilith explained before shifting her gaze towards Li Su, staring silently at my wife.
“You seem oddly familiar have we met?” He asked to our surprise.
“Just arrived in the world,” Lilith carelessly said, “So unless you have ever been outside this planet, I will have to say no, you have never seen me before. By the way, who are you?”
” I am Sir Li Su, of the house Li. An Ancient House of Knights who—”
“Dear God, are you going to say the same thing to everyone who asks you that question?”
Nodding, Li Su lifted his head with pride and glee, “But of course. So is my right as the Li families next Heir. It’s an obligation and a blessing to shine my family’s light on to those that have not heard of it.”
Shaking our heads, Lilith and I stared at each other before laughing. This idiot was quite interesting, more so than the princess lost in her own world.
“Follow me. I will catch you up on all that has happened,” I said as we proceeded up the endless stairs that were starting to look like they would fall apart at any moment.
Continuing on for a few more days, the faint ray shone just between my brow. Seeing the exit towards the outside, a rather cheerful hue grew within the hearts of everyone as we all rushed towards the exit—all except Yu Jing, who was still lost in her own world.
“I truly wish I had her dedication.”
“Hell no, that bitch is crazy! Who wants to train like that?” Said The pot calling the kettle black.
Rushing through the exit, the faint chilling breeze blew across my face as I stared at the large mist of clouds within our view. Surveying the area, Lilith and I waited for Yu Jing and her knight before proceeding.
The air up her was thin and freezing even for me; however, what truly made me somewhat apprehensive was the Astral Mist that seemed to be covering the entire mountain. Visibility was at an all-time low, and there was no getting around it.
Coming to a stop, I turned to Li Su, “wake up, your princess, she needs to be aware.” I sharply commanded, summoning the Spear of Noctem just in case.
“it’s you!” Yu Jing shortly shouted, utterly ignorant of the tension hugging in the air, like a blade ready to strike.
“Not now. We might be close. Lily, do you sense any resonance of a lost Nexus System?”
“I don’t think it works like that, silly. It’s just a piece of machinery, I can repair it in a sense, but we just need to find it.” Said Lilith taking the lead, with the Golden Sword of Morningstar in hand.
Strolling behind us, Yu Jing drew the blade from by her side. Taking quick note of her sword covered in foreign inscriptions, we pressed ahead when the feel of a domineering draconic energy began to emanate from the mist around us.
Stepping into a relatively spacious area filled with snow that covered the vibrant vegetation, a faint childlike voice filled with weariness rang like a heavy melody, “Intruders, have you come for me?”
Readying our weapons, the mist around us began to fade away to my suspicion, revealing a magical dragon showered in silver scales. The dragon itself was grand and otherworldly to the naked eye, appearing to be resting with its tail coiled around itself in what looked to be in front of a strange stone-like monolith.
“Is there a dragon shout behind you!?”
